((This may not be in the right place so if it is can some one move it.))

In your opinon who was or is the greatest Sith? This is a very tough decision to make in my eyes. There were so many great Sith through out the years. Exar Kun led the Sith War. Ulic-Quel Droma influenced Jedi several years after his death. Darth Bane created the Rule of Two. Darth Sidious may have mastered immortallity. Darth Vader almost single handedly wipped out the Jedi. And our Empress, a great leader. There are so may options, not just the ones I said. I can't pick one. What is your opionion?

Actually, Envy, this is exactly the right place for that question - this is the area for any question about Sith History that spans the eras.

The big question here is what is meant by "greatest" - most power over the Dark Side? Most power over the galaxy? Having the most lasting impact to benefit the Sith of all eras? Simply the best fighter?

I'm just going to have to go with who is personally the greatest Sith to me - Darth Vader. He's the one who made me want to grow up and become the villain. He's the one who taught me that You don't know the power of the Dark Side! He's the very definition of evil, an is the greatest villain of cinematic, or for that matter any fictional, history.

Others may go with someone like Sidious or Revan, who conquered the galaxy or held such a titanic hold over the Dark Side, but I have to just go with my feelings on this one.

Darth Nemesis.

He was by far the best Sith in history. His brutal tactics and mindblowing methods of torture make him the best at his job, killing Jedi. (I believe one of my site references refers to Darth Nemesis, saying this) Darth Nemesis attacked the Jedi temple single-handedly, and was struck down by <it was either a group of Jedi Masters, or Yoda himself> and afterwards they kept his Saber-Hilt to remind them Sith may still be amongst them.

Hold on, let me find the source...

"This is the oldest working single unit lightsaber known to exist. It was wielded by a sadistic Dark Jedi of the Sith in it's golden age. Not only was it used as a lightseptor but as a tool of torture. Nemesis took pleasure in making his enemies writhe in pain before finishing them off. This formidable weapon could be hurled across a room and impale it's unfortunate victim. The second rear activation crystal would activate on impact assuring the kill. Darth Nemeisis' reign of terror came to an end when the Jedi Rodann swiftly ended his life. This artifact now resides in the Jedi Temple as a reminder: the Sith may still be among us.
Special Features of this Lightsaber: Forward tallons can be used as piercing weapon, activation crystal at rear of hilt. "

Oh, it seems I was wrong about his death.

I was under the impression that Darth Nemisis was a fan-fiction character created by the lightsaber enthusiest who runs that website. He designed the hilt himself, as well as a few others for his family.

http://www.thelightsaber.com/IndexFolder/index2.htm

If you scroll down to "Custom Set 2" you'll see the hilt along with a "lifesize" Lego Saber. Slightly lower than that is his set of family sabers.

I could be misinterpreting the info, but it seems to be Nemisis is not part of the EU continuity.

You've seriously never heard of Darth Nemesis? None of you? Wow... I actually don't read and SW books, I'm studying as best I can by Sith Historical sites. And especially Wikipedia. But I've known about Darth Nemesis for quite some time now... I thought he was as famous as Maul is... I suppose I was incorrect.

I'd heard of him, but only from the Lightsaber Histories on thelightsaber.com.

He cannot have been killed by Yoda, as Yoda was born in between the Ruusan defeat of the Sith, and Sidious' revelations of the Sith, and therefore it impossible Nemesis existed then.

Nemesis was not around before Ruusan, because of his use of the title Darth, which was abandoned after Revan and Malak more then 3 000 years before ANH.

So therefore he must have been before Revan and Malak, and that squeezes it tight, as that era was made up of a lot of Sith, which, fans are now taking advantage of to place their own Sith in amongst them.

Blight, if you don't read the books, you are missing out on the most enjoyable bits of Star Wars, and I feel very, very sorry for you. Believe me: If you don't read the books, and a character comes up you haven't come across, who is a Sith, don't believe it, as the only Sith not in the movies, are in comics or games, not books.

Ah ha. If you click on More Info, this comes up:

Quote:
Jim Ralston, a very creative and talented individual is the creator of this masterpiece. I'm a big fan of his custom work and he's been featured several times in our Saber-Spotlight. When he originally created this lightsaber my first reaction was, "Wow!". My second reaction was, "I must have it!". He was generous enough to craft one more for myself. I'm proud to be the only other owner of this magnificent yet terrifying lightsaber. Only two have been made and only two there shal be. The storyline history was also a creation of Jim's. I've incorporated the characters lightsaber with a storyline I'm developing with the Crimson Mortum character. The photo of Nemisis, is a concept. In reality (if you haven't figured it out already) it's a picture of Darth Maul I modified in Photoshop.

If that hadn't said so already, I would have mentioned how the picture looks so much like a picture of Darth Maul.

Thats what I thought to. Right when I saw that picture I was getting a picture in my head of Darth Maul and this Darth Nememsis dude.

As for me I would have to say that the greatest Sith in my eyes was and still is Darth Revan.

1.Not only did he defeat the Mandalorians in the war but he was also a very talented tactician. If people had to die for victory then he would spend their lives.

2.He was a leader born. He was able to influence many Republic soldiers and Jedi Knights as well to follow him to the darkside and chase the Mandalorians to the outter rims. He made them turn tables.

3.Also after disappearing for sometime he finally made his appearance again as the new "Dark Lord" of the Sith. The highest rank a Sith Lord could recieve and if rules followed he was the only one to have that rank.

Now that I think of it he was like an early, early version of Darth Sidious.

Very Happy Or, if you want power and the chance to act a little wacky, Joruus C'Baoth is the Patron for you!

Cool Well, in all honesty, a Patron shouldn't be considered simply because of who his follwers are, but who you personally prefer. Malak is a powerful enemy, but having only played KotOR and not KotOR2 I can't judge Nihilus fairly...

Of the true Sith, I'd have to say the Exar Kun is probably the greatest, his spirit surviving in the temples on Yavin's moon for 1000s of years to cause Luke's student grief.

Confused What do you mean true Sith? After Malak and Revan, all Sith were false, except for this Order.
