I have stumbled across a reading in the Great Library about creating these holocrons, so I figured I would give them a try. Just starting out as an apprentice is something not easy, but I was a general in the Sith Military before I even thought of being a sith.

I can tell you that it has helped me so much in doing what I wanted to do in the Sith Order. You learn respect for your commander, you learn how to properly handle a situation, and how to fight without the Force, something that is very important in my books.

I intend on using this Holocron to teach the basics of ground strategy in a military use as well as how to use the Force to better those strategies.

My first appeal to this Holocron will be to teach you the difference between Strategy and Tactics. It is common mistake among the many citizens of this glorious Empire as to what those two are.

A strategy is something that you will plan out to win the war. Strategy is the use of all tactics within a situation, or war, to make the final wanted outcome a reality. During the ancient Yuuzhan Vong war their strategy was to slowly close around the core like a noose. That was their overall strategy but they had to figure out how to do such, and that requires the use of tactics.

The tactics are used to aid the strategy as I said before. Closing around the core like a noose was an overall strategy, but their tactics were what planets to attack first. There are strategies within tactics, or tactics within tactics. All things are intertwined, I will leave you with that

I last left with you with the difference in strategy and tactics. Now I will let you know how to put together a strategy for a battle. Many of the people start wars to conquer that galaxy, and we will go with that one. For today you will need to know the basics in planning out a way to get what you want. If you want to conquer the galaxy then you must take down the galaxies leaders. Your strategy will depend on how fast you want to accomplish what you hope for as well as how well you want to accomplish what you hope for.

The Yuuzhan Vong used the noose around the core strategy for what they wanted to accomplish, which is by far the most commonly used. What you want to do is find something that will work, yet the other side will not be expecting. Always do what its least expected, and I will leave you with that today.

I last left you with words of wisdom, "Do what is least expected". Now we will go into detail on doing what is least expected. Let us say that I wanted to take over a planet in the Seventh Sector of this galaxy what would I do? Attack the planet head on, no. The side would be expecting that. The most commonly won wars have been won not with sheer force, but the use of the mind.

Would you expect a bunch of poor people landing on the planet looking for work to attack you? No, the answer is you would not. That is how I would do it, use the element of surprise. However, the surprise will be blown if you have your entire space fleet waiting a micro jump away because anybody with half a brain could figure out that you are waiting for war with a mass of ships waiting. What you really need to do is have them waiting at several locations, not just so that they aren't grouped together but so that you can attack the planet from several different locations.

Surprise is good at first, but once you get to the battle you need to have at a minimum of three different tactics on how you want to attack and make sure you can change them at a moments notice. Today I will leave you with your thoughts on how to start the best attack.

Now that we have started the attack we must focus on the two aspects of conquering a planet. There is space battle and ground battle. Of course you will not want to try and land your ground troops without some space, but when is the best time?

The answer to that question is simple but overlooked. Most would say that you must land on the ground as quickly as possible because to overthrow a government you have to be on ground, but that is much much more dangerous then waiting. Make sure that you have your space enemies conquered to the near max before you land a ground assault. Doing this will accomplish two things. The first being that it will give your tactical teams more time to figure out the best attack route, and being closer to the planet they will be able to get more information then they had before the attack. The second thing that it will allow you is to see just how far the government would go to gain a victory.

Each military, as painfully obvious, will have ground forces and space forces, but seeing as how many believe, and rightfully so, that the space battle is the most important part of the whole battle they may start to send inexperienced people up in swarms to try and overwhelm the enemy, it has been done many times before. Now, if they do that then obviously your naval forces have sufficiently scared them, and you will see that they have given up on tactics and are just running on hope. That is when you land your forces.

Today I leave you with the thoughts on tactics to accomplish your goal in space.
