Supreme Prophet Praxeum

Introduction

In attempt to clarify for an aspiring Prophet what the Church is and does I have chosen to create this thread to further enlighten you in the ways of our particular Order and what we do to contribute to the overall service of the Empire, the Dark Side and our leader.

I am Dark Lord Praxeum, Dark Lord of the Sith. Alongside the rest of the Prophets, we serve the Eternal Empire and its leader. We are highly specialized and experts in the fields of prophecy, research, ceremony, Sith alchemy, experimentation and organization. The Church exists to serve the Empire, so please feel free to take an active part in Suggestions, Prophecy Discussion, Experiment Discussion or other threads non-Prophets may post in!

If you have a specific grievance or concern, please raise it in our "Atrium of Conversation" thread as to give it the full attention that it deserves. If you have a lesser question that doesn't need the whole Church involved, raise it in a Prophets domain, but think realistically. The Supreme Prophet would not be dealing with petty issues.

Prophecy

It is the job of the Prophets to help guide the Empire in many different matters; one way we do this is by allowing ourselves to foresee future events by the power of the Dark Side, then presenting through poetic and meaningful prophecy. It is not our duty to decipher it but rather yours.

It is important to note that when a Prophet has a vision, we shall discuss it before making it known. And when visible, a prophecy is there for the general Empire’s consideration and comments in the appropriate thread.

Prophecy concerning the Empire must always be shared in the Chamber of Interpetation. That is non-negotiable. However, a Prophet is free to share their personal visions of whatever is on their mind, or what they feel for a specific person, etc. in their private Domain.

In a prophecy- most of which (but are not required) are written in lyric prose- we share our visions as directed to us by the Force. Be it misfortune or favor, it is our duty to bring such things to the general population of this Empire.

Experimentation

The Prophets of the Dark Side have also become adept in the art of Sith Alchemy and are now responsible for the creation and distribution of the Empires most deadly and terrifying weapons. We will reveal all experiments done by The Church in the experiments creators domain and study.

Sith spells

The Prophets of the Dark Side also deal in other, more obscure Dark Arts. Often, ancient Sith spell tomes are uncovered or discovered, which detail an array of Sith sorcery. Some Prophets devote themselves to studying this Dark Magic. Examples of spell branches include Sith Necromancy, Mentalism and Geomancy. As well as these, tomes can also include vast amounts of knowledge on weapons and augments to weapons. This enables Prophets to hold a huge amount of knowledge on all kinds of weaponry, and enables them to augment weapons with powerful Dark Arts.

A Prophet's Domain

Our Domains are our homes in the Church. We have the privilege of being blessed with the gift of foresight and believe accessibility is key to understanding the prophecy we seal in either the Chamber or our Domain, and it is our responsibility to provide the Empire information such as who we are and where we have come from. And we shall also display all experimentation done Prophets and how it will benefit the Empire as a whole inside the creators domain. We ask though that you do not comment on the experiment though, but take that up in the Atium of Conversation thread.

I shall closely monitor Prophet's Domains and make sure they are not avoiding or going around our policies of discussing a prophecy concerning everyone.

If a prophecy is found in violation of this, it shall be removed and action will be taken based on the severity of the violation. All members of the Eternal Empire seeking the counsel and guidance of the Prophets are asked to take such up with them in private message and not in their domain.

Expectations

A Prophet is expected not to be lax and I have high expectations for aspiring candidates. More often than not, one of the Prophets shall be watching all new members and communicating with those interested in the Church.

While with the Church, you will be expected to maintain your sense of loyalty. In public, you are expected to remember who your superiors are. In private, you are expected to be cordial. If a superior asks to be called their informal name, this should be done only in private.

If you address a superior by their informal name, you will be asked to change it. If it happens again, you will be asked to meet a ranking member of the Church in the Chamber of Dark Justice for talks about your defiance.

At no time may a Prophet deliberately insult a member of the Empire. We serve a noble cause and though aggression is good for the Sith, we are secular in the fact that we believe in a more tranquil conflict resolution system. Any of the above will be dealt with in an orderly fashion.

Prophets are expected to be skilled in combat. Lightsabers are an extension of the will of the Church and we have learned to hone our talents in prophecy while sometimes being required to enforce our words with our sabers. This license to be a proficient swordsman is not an invitation to duel yourself to death.

The Creed

This is the official Creed of the Prophet's and Church of the Dark Side. We shall honor it and use it to both teach and regulate ourselves in order to conduct ourselves in the best interests for our Order and for the New Empire. To discuss, please use the "Atrium of Conversation" thread.

When dying stars were children, and fire was yet light:
the darkness shrouding our Order had yet burned bright.
We were born by tyrant’s need for a worldly peace
in a future of uncertainty and the lies of Jedi disease.
Honored by ceremony and taken to seclusion-
the Prophet’s of Darkness thrive beyond delusion.

When Imperial ambition forced a desperate flight:
imposters were born to cast the Order into strife.
When old Imperial passion calmed the flames:
the New Empire sought to revive our ways.
A Shadow reigns Supreme, Divious ways are High,
and the Prophet’s ways are not a Blight in design.

From beyond a shroud of mystery, the Prophet’s see.
The Force writes of truths that we cannot disagree.
While compelled to share these visions with you,
we pride ourselves to keep the Council mewed.
Joyous in content or misfortunate in its way:
every prophecy shall vision Sith their lives away.

We, the stewards of the Church and of all prophecy,
hereby pledge our loyalty to the Force and deny heresy.
We do forevermore choose to honor and respect life,
and understand our dominance over power’s delights.
Meek eternally and always shall the Prophet’s remain
while under the Emperor’s guidance we do reign.

Discipline and Action

If a Prophet is accused of crimes against the Church (charges may vary), we shall expect you promptly in the Chamber of Dark Justice where your guilt or innocence shall be determined. If guilty, and the offense merits a full-scale trial by the Council, such as High Treason Against the Empire, Disloyalty, Espionage, etc., you shall be transferred temporarily to our collective (the Council’s) care.

While discipline has never been an issue in the past and since we pride ourselves on examining and weeding out any possible candidates who would blemish that standing, we do feel it important to let a Prophet know that abuse of power, treason, libel or other crimes shall not be tolerated and allowed to damage the Church in any way.

Petitioning Entrance into the Church

This process is not in itself difficult and we hope quite painless. Upon expressing interest: an aspiring Prophet should open a dialog with either me or one of the other current Prophets.

When a candidate puts forward their name for consideration, a special topic shall be opened where you may chronicle your triumphs, strengths and admitted weaknesses. In this special topic, you may also wish to have other members of the Empire 'put in a good word' for you. We encourage you to take advantage of this thread.

If you are an Apprentice at the time of applying, you have between the time you are given the rank Acolyte to chronicle your time here with us. When reaching the rank of Acolyte, you shall be given the option of taking part in a fifteen-task Internship program that is designed to prepare you for the life as a Prophet and member of the Church.

If you opt to participate in this Internship Program graciously developed by our own Prophets, I shall personally evaluate your progress and defer you a higher rank than you would normally receive upon first joining the Church.

For more information on ranks, please see the appropriate thread. If you choose not to take part in the Program, your entry level position shall be Initiate.

Please note: We encourage candidates to begin the Program as soon as possible, this will allow you maximum time to complete it to the best of your ability.

After completing the Program, a time-period may be spent (though we anticipate not always) in private meditation. During this time, I will be considering your results and the rank I feel proper to defer on you upon joining us.

The Church is an honourable Order, perhaps the most respected of all the Orders. If you are not prepared to earn that respect and honour, then the Church is not right for you.
