Form XII: Shiak Sai
"Dominance Form"
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Basics:
Learning Shiak Sai should be relatively easy, but depending on the practitioner, may turn out to be the most complicated Form in existence. When using this form, it is important to remember that you must use the force to enhance every movement made. This means the practitioner must have endurance, mentally and physically.
1. Shiak Sai practitioners learn to use terrain as an advantage whenever possible.
2. The practitioner must have a very strong connection with the force, and must be physically and mentally capable of using such vast amounts of power.
3. One saber is to be used, a second saber can be used for back-up whenever needed. Dual-bladed sabers are more complicated to use with this form, but can be used nontheless.
4. Quick thinking and great intelligence go hand-in-hand with Shiak Sai, if you are a complete oaf, this form is not for you.
5. Shiak Sai is composed of Djem So, Sokan, Jar'Kai, Trakata, and Dun Moch, so the user can enhance his/her knowledge of Form XII if they first learn those forms individually.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Practitioner of this new-found Lightsaber Combat form wields Two Lightsabers. Either both present in his/ her hands while dueling, or easily accessible from a belt or holster. Using fluid movement, and proper footwork, the practitioner uses the terrain to gain an advantage whenever possible. If such an advantage is not possible to obtain, then the Practitioner is to resort to a very aggressive means of saber combat. Only one blade is to be used at first, this blade can be held by either one or two hands (depending on how the user is holding their second blade) and it is either held at hip-height, pointed towards your opponent; or held behind you back, at hip-height, pointed in whichever direction that shoulder is (right or left).
The key to this new Combat style is to be on the offensive at all times, never give your opponent the chance to gain an advantage, or find weaknesses in your motions. However, if the practitioner ever feels they are going on the defensive, they activate their second saber. One for Defending, while the other is used to gain the edge once again. When using two blades, the practitioner uses elegant movements and precise strikes (preferably towards vital areas) to gain their offensive edge. Once the user has gone on the offensive again, the second blade is disengaged and the user goes back to a very aggressive assault with one saber.
Each strike is enhanced through the Force. Practitioners learn to overcome fatigue at times, and keep strong until the end of the duel. The Practitioner is to alternate every once and awhile, from powerful, hard-to-avoid strikes to quick lunges and swings toward vital areas (This keeps the enemy on his/her toes and isn't as predictable as either one alone).
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shiak Sai incorporates precise cuts and thrusts, powerful, force-enhanced strikes, igniting/disengaging your second lightsaber frequently to gain an advantage, and elegant movement to make it all fit together. To learn Shiak Sai quicker, it is recommended that the practitioner first learns Djem So (asto establish power and force-enhanced moves), followed by Makashi (incorporating elegant, precise cuts with speed), and finally Sokan (which further enhances your knowledge of precise strikes and using terrain as an advantage) Then attempting to mix each together slowly, into a fluid combat style.
