Well, it's fine so long as he plays by our rules. It is a common characteristic of Sith to desire power, why should he not be allowed to partake in such feelings? Plus, he won't succeed because we control canon.

Well, It’s not like I’m going to reveal my true intention to destroy the current order right of the bat. I’m going to be patient, burry the thought deep in my mind, and wait until I have access to the upper echelon of the Sith. At that point I will begin to spread seeds of deceit and infidelity to try and destroy the order from within. Then, when the time is right, I will launch a coup that will hopefully bring me to power. Though I surmise it will fail, I still think it would be interesting.

Yeah, it'll fail.  I haven't been out of the upper-echelon in the two years of this forum's history and let me tell you: I've stomped coups larger and better organized than that. But you're welcome to try both as a character flaw and in reality.
