Discussion of: Star Wars: Spotlight
In IDW's reboot of the Transformers G1 universe they introduced an interesting support title - Spotlight. The idea is rather simple: to focus on a single character and explore an aspect of their life that, while interesting, is not necessarily essential to the main story line. It has been used a few times to introduce new characters, so that the main plot line isn't so cluttered every time a new 'Bot or 'Con comes onto the scene. At any rate, I thought it would be fun to adapt the idea for us to use. Anyone can contribute stories, and we'd end up with essentially a short stories thread. Anyone wanting to experiment with style, explore a new idea, or just add an interesting little bit of history to their character can now do so. But it's not just their character. The beauty of this is if you wanted, a short story about Han Solo or Darth Vader would be just as ideal. An Infinities tale about a Intergalactic Gungan hunt. Go wild. There are a few rules I would like to impose - 1) To keep it true to the Spotlight title a single character must be central to the story. Your supporting cast can be as large as you like, but try to keep the focus on the character upon whom the spotlight shines. 2)Keep your story contained to a single post. We don't want to have to go hunting in and within other short stories. It's simpler and neater if it's contained, and I can maintain the list at the top of this page. 3) Because the stories are only short, please add - Spotlight: Timeframe: Continuity: - to the top of your tale. Then everyone knows who, when, and which timeline. Timelines would include - Infinities, EU, tDSL. I think that about covers it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them here. Otherwise this will serve like any other discussion thread as feedback for authors of various stories. |

No takers  ? Bit of a shame, really... I'd hoped some other people would've had some ideas to share. New takes on little used characters.
Ah well. Guess it's up to me to try and think of something new to inspire you all...

I've recently finished DE, and am planning a few sequels for it, so might post a miniature one here, or write a completely new one about one of my other newly forming characters such as Korus, Mandalore.
