Emperor's ReturnI seriously doubt any of you keep up with New York State law, so let me break this down for you in an attempt to explain my LATEST absence exceeding one calander week.
I was involved in a legal battle recently in Albany because the State of New York is requiring every artist with a publication, production, representation, blah blah blah to have an account of $2,750.00 per item.
So, in my case, as a professional with several pending publication deals and a show opening on Broadway in February 2,010, we (my parents, actually) had to make a lot of monetary concessions to cover this new law that went into affect despite mine and over 20,000 other artists' complaints.
Anyway, we lost; needless to say, this is a bid by the state to keep money from leaving New York. The thing that sucks is this money is inaccessible. It must sit there just because I have business there. I felt it was wrong, and was up there fighting with my agent and attorneys.
That's that. Will is back and re-assuming his duties. I haven't read anything yet, but the place doesn't appear to be on fire and I am pleased.
