Lord Aequitas

Glathn's Training.

((Report in.))
High Mage Serratus

((Reporting in.))
Lord Aequitas

((

I would like you to answer this before we begin OOC:

Order of Choice:
Why?
Lightsaber style:
Why?

If you want to ask me anything, use this oppurtunity))
High Mage Serratus

((Order of Choice: Church of the Dark Side
Why? Fits Glathn's personality and I find it more interesting than the other Orders.
Lightsaber style: Combination of Forms II-IV in normal combat, personal style called Gor Dan for chain-link combat (see Character Profile).
Why? The Form combination is because I think Forms II-IV are the most effective when used in combination, Vaapad may be powerful but Dark Side users can't wield it as effectively as the Jedi. Gor Dan is a personal creation for Glathn's signature chain-link lightsaber. Speaking of which, he'll need to construct a new one as he wishes to destroy his Jedi one.))
Lord Aequitas

Aequitas smiled as he looked upon his aprenntice. "The Church? I am in Church, as you probably know. Why this Order? Why not the Military where it would be easier to extract revenge?" Aequitas' smile disappeared from his face.
High Mage Serratus

Glathn looked squarely at his master.
"The Military, brute force conquest. It has and will cost the lives of many Sith. The Inquisitorius, backstabbing and betrayal. How can one forge alliances and friendships when one's job is to inform? The Guard, constant, neverending. Always at the beck and call of the Emperor, never time for your own agenda, and elitist too."
Glathn paused before continuing.
"The Church, enlightenment, knowledge. Delve deeper into the Force, learn all that is known and learn more. Become a member of the order who's leader is in line for the throne, the one everyone relies on and trusts. It is the only order worth my time."
Lord Aequitas

Aequitas could not help but let a smile escape. "This is news to me. Lord Praxeum, in line for the throne? I haven't heard that and due to my position in the Empire, I would have. Care to explain?"

The High Prophet was intrigued. The young one made good arguments for why he should join the Church. But, that all depended on the impression he forged upon the High Prophet, the second-in-command of the Church.
High Mage Serratus

"Well, before I explain, was the Emperor himself not Supreme Prophet before his ascension? Anyway, consider this. The Emperor as shown considerable kindness towards the Church. He himself trained you Master Aequitas. And then what of the other orders? Lord Marix wasn't even granted the title of Lord when he became Supreme Commander. And Lords Prognie and Tarna? Lord Prognie is the leader of the most paranoid of the orders, the Empire could not be headed by someone without a clear head. And it would be most disdainful of the Emperor to make one of his bodyguards an Emperor. Then consider Lord Praxeum, arguably one of the most accomplished Prophets of our time, trained by none other than the Emperor himself, just as you were. He has served the Empire than longer than I've been alive and just like so many before him, he was able to completely abandon the light side of the Force, as I plan to."
Glathn stopped to take a breath.
"Now, with that in mind, who do you think is next in line to the throne?"
Lord Aequitas

Aequitas chuckled. "You have much to learn. Lord Shadow has indeed shown kindness to the Church but one mustn't jump to conclusions that the Supreme Prophet will be the next Emperor. I do not think his majesty is going to die soon nor has he the intentions to step down.

Also, Lord Prognie had been the heir to the throne for quite a while, thereby quenching your weak flame of an argument. However, after a Moff Council appeal headed by the Supreme Prophet, Shadow decided not to step down, as he had orginally intended, and removed any heir. It would also do you well not to call the head of an order parnanoid, especially the Head of in Inquisitorus who has eyes and ears everywhere.

To abandon the light side of the Force is not as easy as you think. It takes one extremely powerful to do so. Praxeum can only be bested by one other; the Emperor himself.

I would also like to give you some advice; do not preach history to the High Historian. It does not bode well. Especially when the High Historian is also the deputy head of the order yo wish to enter."

Aequitas smiled. "Now, what say you?"
High Mage Serratus

Glathn bowed his head humbly.
"Perhaps it would be best to move on from this debate and allow you to proceed Master Aequitas."
Lord Aequitas

Aequitas nodded. "Wise choice. Wisdom will get you far, but, one must always debate, challenge and question."

Standing up, Aequitas raised his hand swiftly. As he did, a hole opened in the centre of the room, 3 metal balls flew out. "Now, young one, I want you to practise the force. Being a former Jedi, this should be easy"

Aequitas smiled. He hoped his apprentice would react the correct way.
High Mage Serratus

Glathn raised his left hand and used the Force to catch one of the balls. He raised his right and caught another. As the third one fell to the ground, Glathn stared at it, concentrating fiercely. He telekinetically raised the last ball until it was level with the other two. He then brought his hands slowly together until all three balls were together. He then transfered the holding of all the balls to his right hand and called them over to himself.
"What would you like me to do with the balls Master? Juggle them?"
The balls started jumping as if being juggled by human hands when it was really the Force pushing them into the air.
"Or perhaps you would like me to be planet and allow them to orbit me?"
The balls started hovering around him in ellipses. They stopped and Glathn aligned them as if stacking them on top of each other and allowed them to hover above his index finger which was pointed at the roof.
"What is your will Master?"
Lord Aequitas

Aequitas frowned. "Do you insult me? Do you not know that I know you were in the Jedi; do you think I'm a fool to give you such an easy task."

Without moving, the balls exploded in Glathn's face. With the quickest movement of his hand, Aequitas threw Glathn backwards. "Get up. Get up and do what I told you to do. I said practise the force, not raise them like a youngling."
High Mage Serratus

Glathn recovered quickly from the sudden toss. Years on Hoth hunting alongside Wampa had given him a high tolerance to pain, especially when the winter set in, nearly halving the temperature. As he stoop up he reached out with the Force to the fragments of the balls and lifted them into the air. He reformed the balls and let them float before him. He sent two behind him before raising a hand at the one in front of him. From his hand shot lightning. Glathn glared at the ball of metal which moments ago had exploded in his face. He felt the anger within him rise and the lightning intensify. Suddenly in the back of his mind.
"Glathn embrace the anger. Become the anger."
It was the Dragon. Glathn listened to the Dragon's advice and the anger overflowed within him. Suddenly Glathn felt a burning sensation on his feet. The air in front of him was empty. On the ground lay the molten remains of the ball. Glathn smiled slightly more than usual and brought the other two balls around at high speed. He stopped them just in front of himself and fired more lighting into one of them. The lightning leapt from one ball to the other and back to Glathn. Glathn could feel the pain but embraced it just as he had embraced his anger. The anger and pain felt like they would explode outwards. However before this could happen, the two balls touched and exploded with a crackle of energy.
Lord Aequitas

Aequitas rolled his eyes. "Sufficent, I suppose. If I were knocked out I could do that and more. You wanna join the Church? You'll have to control any distractions you get. I could sense something come to you. If you wanna ever consider joining the Church, you need to free your mind to be able to recieve visions."

Aequitas yawned before looking at the three balls. Immediatly they formed back. He then used the force to bring Glathn's lightsaber from th apprentice to him. Before the saber reached the High Prophet, he drew his saber from his sleeve, sliced through the saber and returned his own to his sleeve. This was done so fast, the now broked saber lay a centimeter from where Aequitas first drew his own. The High Prophet turned his back on the apprentice. "Build a new saber, and be quick about it or I'll be serving your head to the Emperor's rancor."
High Mage Serratus

Glathn returned from the Temple carrying his chain-shoto and his new saberstaff. Both had blood-red blades and were guilded with gold.
"Master I've returned bearing not just one, but two new sabers. One..."
He brandished the saberstaff.
"...for traditional fighting and the other..."
He held the chain-shoto by the chain.
"...for my Gor Dan."
He silently thanked Lord Nihilus for the schematics and crystals.
Lord Aequitas

Aequitas didnt even look up. "How wonderful for you", he said in a sarcastic tone. "Now, person, you want to join the Church? Prove yourself apt with a...whatever you have. Challenge a fellow apprentice...no, challenge the Church's Dark Warrior; Darth Crozeus will be fomidable."

He opened the door with the force and flung Glathn out. "Close the door after you."
High Mage Serratus

Glathn walked in to Aequitas's room. He had his chain-shoto, having fixed it while his ankle was healing, and his saberstaff.
"My Lord, I have returned from my duel with Prophet Crozeus."
Lord Aequitas

Aequitas smiled slightly, "I know. Prophet Crozeus has acknowledged your prowess with a.....an unusal weapon. You did well. I would have been there myself but had....other meetings." The High Prophet turned away and picked up a key. He tossed it to the apprentice. "This is the key to the Holocron room. It's not normally locked, but I had locked it while i was absent. Unlock it and bring back the key but that's not what your task is", the High Historian flinched as a vision came unexpectadly to him. Thankfully, this happened so much that the High Prophet was able to continue working while recieve them. He shook it off. "Create a Holocron. Record your feelings, memories, daily activites, anything. Then, I want you to bring me a report on the two leaders of the Church." Aequitas pointed at the door, motioning for his apprentice to leave. "Oh, and Glathn, when you do smsh the vase outside the Holocron room, call for maintanance. You forget I can see into the future", he added.
High Mage Serratus

Glathn bowed.
"Yes, Master Aequitas."
He then turned and left.
High Mage Serratus

Glathn returned to the room.
"Master, I have returned. My holocron has been started and I have the information you requested. I'll begin with you Master;

'Born Supremo Finis Valorum on Coruscant to Confucius Valorum and Tamanita Valorum née Appo. Two siblings, Partis and Helentara Valorum.

Schooled on Naboo from the ages of four months to 4. Spent six years after being schooled on Coruscant before becoming his father's protogé and ascending to the YAB or Youth Advisory Board, age 12. Was quickly made his father's chief-aide and later became a Judiciary member, even becoming High Judge in Charge of Fraud.

However, his fall to the dark side began when his father was brought before him. Began to suspect Jedi involvement in his father's trial and later attacked a Jedi at a bar, first instance of Force-sensitivity. Fled to Kuat ad was trained by the glorious Emperor Shadow before quickly acending to the rank of High Prophet.'"
Glathn cleared his throat before continuing.
"Next, Supreme Prophet Praxeum;

'Born Stap Magnus Praxeum to Tetra and Ignus Praxeum. Father killed by mother when Stap was age three to prevent him being handed over to the Sith. Was trained as a Jedi under Isodor Jen, it was at this point that he first met Lexicon Sespis, a.k.a. Darth Shadow. Later helped remove incriminating evidence on Sespis's part in the murder of Arjen Witon and lost his master while tracking down a Dark Jedi.

At this point, Stap was made a Knight and went into solitude before returning to face the Sith on Kroprulu. He was part of a team that included his love, Elicia Railec. They both deserted during the battle when defeat seemed imminent. Upon returning to the Jedi Temple, Elicia and Stap's friend Lo confronted him on the growing darkness within him and he fled the planet.

After ship-hopping for two days, Stap contacted his old friend Lexicon Sespis and was transported to Kuat by two henchmen of Sespis's. There he killed his friend Lo while under the influence of one of Sespis's illusions, who had revealed himself as Darth Shadow.

Stap was trained for three years before becoming the Sith, Darth Praxeum. He mentored two apprentices and later joined the Church of the Dark Side. He endured the Embrace of Pain and went into Exile for two years before returning to the Church and later ascending to the office of Supreme Prophet.'"
Lord Aequitas

Aequitas nodded, "It is sufficient, thank you." Aequitas looked around before remembering. "Oh yes, participate in a misson of some sort."

((Make an RP, i wnt 12-15 god sized paagraphs.))
High Mage Serratus

Glathn bowed once again before leaving the room.
Lord Aequitas

((We're gonna continue here while you do the RP))

The High Prophetwas sitting in a chair when his apprentice entered the dimly lit room. "Glathn, tell me what you know of the Force."
High Mage Serratus

Glathn scratched his chin.
"I know what my old Jedi Master taught me. It is an omnipresent, ubiquitous, metaphysical entity. It is neither energy nor matter nor truly a force. It is the most powerful thing in existence. It can be manipulated by Force-sensitives, people with Force potential. Force potential is measured by the amount of micro-organisms called midi-chlorians. The Force is infinte and unknowable, it has no limits, it can bend space and time, destroy planets, stave off death, even reverse it and, according to the Tragedy of Darth Plagueis, it can create life. It is the ultimate tool of the Jedi, the Sith, the Jensaari and many others. It is said to have many divisions, the light side, the dark side, the Unifying Force, the Living Force, the Greater, the Lesser and yet in the end, it is simply the ultimate of ultimates."
Lord Aequitas

Aequitas nodded. "The Jedi did teach you well, I'll grant them that however, they did not instruct you in thedark side of the force. Why is it called the dark side?"
High Mage Serratus

Glathn smiled.

"The Dark Side of the Force is so called because it feeds on 'negative' emotions such as fear, hatred, malice, greed, desire and anger. But it is all about perspective when dealing with the dark and light, good and evil."
Lord Aequitas

Aequitas smiled. "Very good, that's was the point. I'm glad you see that evil and good is a matter of perspective. Now, why do the jedi label the sith so?
High Mage Serratus

Glathn scratched his chin once again.

"Again, perspective. The Jedi's morality makes them blind to the truth, the Sith are the same as any other group of Force-users, using the Force for their own purposes, the Eternal Empire is as much a political entity as the Galactic Republic. The Jedi fear the Dark Side for they think that it would make its users evil, but all it does is makes it users powerful. It is as the great Darth Sidious once said; 'The Sith and the Jedi are similar in almost every way, including their quest for greater power. The only difference between the two is that the Sith are not afraid of the dark side of the Force.'"
Lord Aequitas

Aequitas narrowed his eyes. "I see. Why do the jedi not use the dark side of the force then? Why do they not embrace it?"
High Mage Serratus

Glathn inclined his head.

"It is because, as I said, they fear the dark side, they think it is evil. They are so strangled in their own morals that they are afraid to strive for the one thing that might actually help them defeat the Sith. It only shows that the dark side can use one's foe's fear as well as one's own."
Lord Aequitas

Aequitas was silent. He was having a difficul few weeks with travellig throughout the Empire holding trials on various planets. Normally only important trials would be brought before him but th Emperor requested him to help with the recent outbreak of skirmishes throughout the galaxy. "Very well, I see you have a solid connection with the force and the knowledge needed for it to aid you without overpowering you. Now, another question. Why do you prefer other weapons?"
High Mage Serratus

Glathn smiled.

"I do not necessarily prefer other weapons, I just prefer to be equipped to fight without a lightsaber if necessary. If I am fighting with a lightsaber and I'm disarmed, I can fall back on my hunting knife, which is made of Mandalorian iron and can withstand lightsaber blows. If the knife is lost to me, I will use my gaderffii, which are made mainly of cortosis, Mandalorian iron and durasteel. If that fails me, hopefully Darth Crozeus will have returned the lightscythe he borrowed from me by that time, so I can fall back on that. I want to build my arsenal even more so that I can keep on fighting in new and unprecedented ways until I have defeated my enemies."
Lord Aequitas

Aequitas turned away from his apprentice for a moment. "That is a good reason but, do you not trust the Force? Surely that is one of the most deadly weapons in your armoury?"
High Mage Serratus

Glathn raised his hands in apprehension.

"Of course, of course, I mean only in terms of melee combat, of course the Force is the most powerful weapon in anyone's arsenal. Let us say that I am faced with an attack from a bounty hunter with two blasters. I will use the Force against the bounty hunter while protecting myself from his own attacks using my melee weapons. Unless I'm in the situation where I'm prevented from using the Force or I mustn't use the Force as part of an inconspicuous act, I will use the Force as my primary weapon."
Lord Aequitas

Aequitas nodded. "Being a member of the Church is an important part of your life. You pledge your service, your loyalty, your life. How would you contribute to the Church?"
High Mage Serratus

This, Glathn knew, had to be a good, honest answer, as the impression he made on his master would be the gateway to a place in the Church.

"Hmmm. I would increase the Church's vast reservoirs of knowledge with my own. I would guard the Church from threats, external or internal. I would do all I can to further any interests that you or Lord Praxeum would have. I would cut down my own kin to protect another member of the Church. And I would cut down another member of the Church to protect the Church as a whole. And I would cut down myself, if I thought it would help the Church or if I myself had become one of the very threats I would pledge to defeat."
Lord Aequitas

Aequitas leaned against the wall. "I see. That of course is important; the well being of the Church is one of the most important things you will need to uphold as a member. How do you feel about the Church's entry requirements. Are they fair?"
High Mage Serratus

Glathn looked thoughtful.

"In some ways one might think not, yet in others, yes. They make sure that only the finest Sith make the cut and yet discourage many from having to go through the trouble of training an apprentice. Though equally, we would not want lacadasican Sith in so proper and demanding an Order. So, I would say that they are fair, yes."
Lord Aequitas

Aequitas yawned. "I see you are keeping an open mind. You will need it in the Church. Changes dont happen regulary in the Church but when they do, it is an upheaval. What do you think of the people in the Church?"
High Mage Serratus

Glathn smiled once again, though it was hard to tell whether or not he was smiling the whole time and then smiled a little more.

"I have had contact with only two Prophets, you Master and Darth Crozeus. Of Darth Crozeus, I think of him as a steadfast warrior, a gracious winner, an instiller of discipline, a loyal ally and overall a fine Sith. As for you Master, you are a good teacher, a loyal and powerful Sith and an unwavering pillar of authority. Those are my honest opinions of you both."
Lord Aequitas

Aequitas let a smile escape. "Thank you, Glathn. Lord Praxeum is also a Prophet, as you well know. His loyalty is that of the highest degree, his power is bested only by the Emperor and his friendship, though hard to obtain, is unbreakable. If, and I say if, you get accepted in the Church, you will get to know him."

Aequitas looked around. "How long have I been training you, Glathn?"
High Mage Serratus

Glathn himself looked around.

"I am unsure myself, Master."
Lord Aequitas

Aequitas laughed, "That makes two of us then. What have you learned?"
High Mage Serratus

Glathn chuckled also before straightening his face.

"I, in the course of my apprenticeship, have learned a number of things. Many of the answers I gave to your questions, I had never considered before, so I learned to look at things objectively and without perspective. I have learned about yourself, Lord Praxeum and Darth Crozeus, familiarising myself with those who would be my allies and colleagues. I have learned to be less overconfident, both at your own hand and Darth Crozeus's. I have also learned that I need to destroy the Dragon, and I need to do it soon."
High Prophet Crozeus

((Sorry for the butt-in, but Prophet Crozeus if you please))
Lord Aequitas

Aequitas grimaced. "It is better to keep your friends close, but enemies closer. What say you of that? Have you gotten to....distrust any member of the Empire? Names are not needed. And of the Dragon?"
High Mage Serratus

Glathn scratched his chin once again.

"Hmmm...I haven't met many of the other Sith, but I agree with your sentiments, though I do my best not to make enemies in the first place. As for the Dragon, helpful as it has been in the past, I fear too much that I may become its puppet. I want it out and I want it out soon."
Lord Aequitas

Aequitas nodded, "Good, we don't want it getting in the way. Do you think you are finshed the training with me??"
High Mage Serratus

Glathn hadn't bothered to stop scratching his chin in lieu of another question.

"I don't know Master. There are of course things that I do not know, but are they necessary as part of my apprenticeship? I don't think so. So I suppose, unless you have anything more to offer me, that I have finished my apprenticeship."
Lord Aequitas

Aequitas sighed, "What is it you wish to know?"
High Mage Serratus

Glathn smiled.

"I wish to know my heritage, to know why I am Force-sensitive and to know what the Dragon is. All these things trouble me. But alas, these are questions it would do little to throw on you, Master."
Lord Aequitas

Aequitas sighed, "Alas, that I do not know. Once in the Church you may request leave to discover these. That is, if you are accepted."

Aequitas smiled. "I have nothing more to teach you."

((Do you want to do the part 2 of your mission before I put you for trial?))
High Mage Serratus

((No thanks, I haven't actually decided how part 2 will be played out yet.))
