Heath Ledger

Heath Ledger died...It was so out of no where...Im really excited about his portrayal of The Joker in the upcoming Batman movie.

Ledgar had a promising acting career =/

Ya, in the trailer for The Dark Knight you don't even realize it's him.

For those that don't know who he is, he also played in The Patriot as the eldest son and in Brokeback Mountain.
Grand Inquisitor Prognie

Ledger had a promising acting career.
Darth Acheron

He was Australian. Sad
Supreme Commander Alor

Being Australian has nothing to do with being a good actor...

Yeah, I was watching the news yesterday, and saw them talking about it. I laughed when they talked about Church ceremonies. I guess a Baptist Church somewhere, wouldn't hold ceremonies for him because of his role in Broke-back Mountain.

That must have gone over well with the parish...

I wonder what killed him. They are/were saying drugs or medicine, but they had yet to find out which ones.

He mentioned it because he's from Australia, he's also saying that Australians are feeling this a lil' hard because he is from Australia..
But ya being from Australia has nothing to do with being a good actor...or does it? Shocked

Hmm, they'll probably dedicate The Dark Knight to him. Can't wait to see his performance as The Joker, trailers look amazing.
Lord Legacy

k

yeah me to ive heard rumors that his performance is oscar worthy.

I know. Confused He was one of the most famous Australian actors though, so sorry for thinking that I might be able to bring up that point. You know I'm an Australian so why would you think that was the point I was trying to make? Confused

I'd bet money that without a doubt The Dark Knight's dedicated to him.  Perhaps he wins the Oscar anyway, becoming the first dead person to win an Oscar.
Darth Barad-Dur

Never watched any movies with him in, so, can't say what I think about him.

Never seen The Patriot with Mel Gibson?

A Knight's Tale is fun film, and worth checking out. Or Two Hands, but I'm not sure if that saw release outside of Australia.

Ledger's death is a real shame. Nearly everyone I know were left shocked it had happened.
Isaah

I was surprised to find that many people didn't know movies he made outside of the new Batman movie, and Brokeback Mountain. I liked him in A Knight's Tale, Casanova, The Order, Lords of Dogtown, The Brothers Grimm, and Ten Things I Hate About You. He was one of my favorite actors, with by far the best smile I've ever seen, if I do say so myself.
Darth Acheron

I didn't realise, but he played Ned Kelly in Ned Kelly, and I immensly enjoyed that movie.
Lord Legacy

k

Ned Kelley was very good
Darth Acrimonus

As much as I hate to act as a censor, I could not see that arguement ending well. I have removed all comments relating to it. This is meant to be about the untimely death of a great actor, and appreciating and remembering him for improving our lives through the medium of film. Can we all please be careful in the future to think twice before posting, to just see if a comment may be read in a negative way? You don't have to like all his movies, but it seems more productive to me to promote the ones you do like rather than shoot down the ones you don't.
Supreme Commander Alor

BATMAN! Previews look awesome! The other actors were talking about Ledger and said he made the Joker his own character...
Lord Legacy

ye

I agree the previews were amazing you can hardly tell its him
High Inquisitor Gra'tua

I wonder if he will be a better joker than Jack Nickolas.
Isaah

I can't knock his act till I've seen it, but I don't think anyone can top Jack Nicholson. Wink
High Inquisitor Gra'tua

Whoops wrong last name..oh well. I know that was my fav batman movie...perhaps ledger can show it some justice.
High Commander Vexen

Ledger is gonna be amazing in the Dark Knight. Just the way he potrays the Joker is sadistic yet awesome.

I would be more afraid of seeing his Joker in a dark alley than anything else...except the Christmas Critters.
Supreme Commander Alor

Nooooooooooo... Not the Christmas Critters!!! HELP!!!
Darth Thrax

Jack Nicholson was too cartoony for me. He never really portrayed The Joker as the way that I had thought that he would've. Anyways, Heath Ledger will be missed.
Lord Aequitas

Wow....this is old....but, I thought I'd add that the Dark Knight will be dedicated to him!! It said so in the newspapers...
Major General Celestial

Well, good way to dedicate a movie, I guess.
High Prophet Crozeus

I don't mean any offense to him, as I have enjoyed many of his movies, but if he hadn't died I seriously doubt everyone would be so worked up about how amazing he was in the Dark Knight. His performance was very good though.
Darth Cimil

I rather agree with Souless One. I'm sure the movie would have done well and had plenty of publicity had he lived, but not as much as it's had.

But dead or alive he should definately win the best supporting actor award
