Historical travels((Moved on from Aequitas' Experiments))
Elric: I would try Troy, but it seems impossible to find a decent hotel nearby that isn't completely booked up. It makes me mad the number of tourists that you find at some places, especially at Normandy when I went to see the beaches there. It seems so weird for little kids to be playing on a beach where thousands were killed or injured, and they don't even know.

Try Ephesus at first place, trust me you will thank me, also there is Mary's house very close to Ephesus. If you believe in Christianity, it is also worthwhile to visit. Another place, Olympos (far from those places though) is an interesting place. It is like a meeting place of young people all over the world. Here are the wiki pages of those places i mentioned

I've been to The Battle of the Little Bighorn place. A bit eerie. Noone around for like, 100 miles(Well, a nearby reservation might be 50 miles or so).
I would want to visit stonehenge.

I ve been to place where Battle of Gallipoli took place (very close to Troy)( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Gallipoli ). Its museum was psychotic. There were real bones skulls with bullets on them. There was also lots of cannons. Trenches were still in good conditions. I was there on Anzac Day ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anzac_day ). It was a terrific experience. My mum's grandpa fought there and survived, he had tons of medals from WWI but we dont have any. All are kept by his oldest daughter now passed to her sons because she died about 7-8 years ago.

As a New Zealander, we are so big on the anniversary of Gallipoli. It's strange how Churchill still managed to get elected after that. Sam: Why Stonehenge? It's not very interesting. Unless you're a druid, which I doubt (somehow)

I liked Stonehenge. It's cool to think of all the possibilties of why they built it. They say now it was a place of healing.

Kiwis are awesome.
And Stonehenge interests me for some reason.

Yeah we are! Maybe you are a Druid at heart...
Vexen: I found the Pyramids really dis-appointing.

Cairo Museum is much better than Pyramids if you wanna see Egyptian stuff. A new giant museum is being constructed near Giza pyramids.

((Double post))
I have returned from the Somme. I found (unexpectedly) the grave of a relative at Thiepval memorial, who was killed on November 13th, 1916. I also went to Ieper (Ypres), where I have been before, but this time saw the cemetary at Essex Farm, which is significant for two reasons:
1. It is where the famous "In Flanders Fields" poem was written
2. It is where the youngest known casualty is buried, who was 15 when killed.
