Into the BeastThe planet was still in an uproar, military ships were dropping left and right, from the Imperial Palace to the streets of the common citizen. Soldiers were littering the streets and the Royal Guards had not heard from Shadow but knew, every force user knew, that he was alive and could feel him engulfing them.
Standing before the Inquisitor Building were soldiers, the entire street had been blockaded and the air space emptied. The air was still, the only noise was the comms crackling with the distorted messages of captains surrounding the building issuing orders to one another. A large Imperial warship floated above the building assuring that none would leave in any way or so they thought.
Deep within the offices were the remnants of the inquisitors, huddled together by closed doors, blast doors sealing the pathway and turrets lining up halls. Deep within the towers that forged into a single building were the defenses of the Inquisitors. Droids marched up and down the halls with heavy weaponry, ready to slow down any daring individual.
The last remnants of the Inquisitors stood their ground; they would defend what they had worked hard for by any means necessary. Bodies shook, a large echo rang across the city as large turrets blasted the blast doors that had sealed the buildings off. Lasers poured out of the building out into the streets, shields from the Kuati law enforcement went up as they charged into the building, the soldiers of the Empire following suit behind them. And so it began: they all marched into the belly of the beast.
[[ OOC note: This will be happening at the same time as the Storm Struck Tower RP. If you would like to participate in this, ask Marix as this is a military matter. ]]

Over 50,000 minds were luminescent in the aura of the Force. Battalions from the 501st Elite Legion, 41st Elite Legion, and 281st Legion stood nearly motionless on the streets. While more still were being flown in troop carriers to other destinations to unload and take up the silent, vigilant watch on the tower. The troopers almost formed Rorschach inkblots on the ground, as the different battalions merged on the ground. The 501st and 41st were dressed in the black armor of Elite Commandos, whereas the 281st stood in the brilliant white Katarn Mark V armor.
Miles overhead, the Lord Vader floated in a geostationary orbit, fixated above the Inquisitor Tower. Where the 501st Legionnaires had originated from. Nearby, the Modern Warfare, origin of the 41st Legionnaires below, also floated in space, but in no particular relation to the planet below. Closer to the planets surface, several Venator I-Class Star Destroyers patrolled the skies with their swarms of fighter-craft, and hangars full of even more still, ready to leap out and take down any enemy that was dumb enough to present itself. The most important of those Star Destroyers was the Dark Implications which carried the reserve Platoons for the assault below.
Lord Marix surveyed the preparations, and shook his head. Why did Sith have to turn on each other? Trillions of resources were wasted fighting amongst themselves from every Sith Empire, Triumvirate, or Brotherhood. And it had happened yet again, some power hungry fool wishing to take on the full wrath of the Emperor and the Armed Forces. Turning to Colonel Ranov'la, he shared a knowing glance and then returned to the holoprojector in the middle of the Command Center within the Lord Vader.
"The 501st reports ready, sir." Rang out a voice from the comm center.
"41st acknowledges orders and is green, sir." Came another.
"281st is ready for duty, sir." A third voice announced.
"Darth Veritas reports ready, Lord Marix." Colonel Ranov'la said, having received word the the Sith Brigadier General on the ground over her private command channel.
"Tell him to begin the assault." Were the only words out of Lord Marix's mouth. He was already slipping into the mindset for Battle Meditation, raising morale and effectiveness of the troops below him, connecting them all into one unit, one body.

The Imperial soldiers marched into the fortified home of the Inquisitors, turrets that lined up the lobby released a stream of lasers onto the shields of the Kuati Law enforcement. "Keep shields up!" the command echoed forward from the back of the group, the Kuati law enforcement team was not as well gathered and the formation threatened to break as the young men and women began to snap under the pressure.
From the back grenades were launched deep into the lobby and after several moments exploded sending parts and smoke everywhere. The bombardment of lasers slowed down as turrets were destroyed allowing the Imperial army to break off formation from the Kuati law enforcement and taking down the remaining defenses of the lobby.
Soldiers looked toward the connecting halls as the sounds of clanking footsteps reached their ears, large droids carrying massive guns came running down the halls with one intent: destroy the intruders. A new wave of lasers poured from the halls into a concentrated center, soldiers and law enforcement being picked apart as the soldiers moved up against the walls to avoid the heavy fire.
Sith that had kept to the back of the groups, finally came forward with their blades drawn and with a sense of hunger laid upon their faces. "For the Emperor!" they yelled as they rushed forward, blades twirling and deflecting the onslaught of the oncoming droids back at them.
--------------------------------
Floating above the Inquisitor's HQ were transport ships, their doors flung open quickly and soldiers poured out, helmets displaying coordinated information about their task. They would sneak in from the back and would face the worst of the defenses of the building.
(I am posting to simply keep this RP stimulated, as I said if you wish to join contact Marix. Crozeus, the last part of this post is an intro for yourself, I'd suggest using it as a way to integrate yourself.)

((Thank you, I was waiting for an intro from Marix, but this works too.))
The cool air rippled his hair as he stood by the open door, watching the ominous building that was his target. The citadel of the Inquisitorious - a place one would never want to be, a place feared by all - even some of the Inquisitors. Now, to him, it was simply an enemy target. It was a threat to the security of the Empire, and it must be eliminated.
Wow. When he thought like that, he sounded like an Inquisitor.
"10 seconds!" The pilot of the dropship called. With a sigh he looked into his helmet's visor, the mask that would render him unrecognizable. He felt something on his armoured shoulder and looked up.
"Cheer up boss, it's just like any other mission. We go in, secure the data, get out. We've been through worse. A lot worse." The relaxed smile of Lieutenant McCoy, his 2 i/c, was enough to make him feel more confident.
They were going in against people who had been on their side. This was not just a mission against some rogues or some guild. These enemies were Inquisitors - trained assassins and spies. They were some of the most talented Sith in the Empire.
He put his helmet on and patted himself down, checking one last time he had all he needed. The light above him turned green and without hesitation he jumped out into the sky.

OOC:
@Crozeus - It would have been nice to have been told you were waiting for an intro. I thought you were still getting your character and post together.
@Prognie - Why would we have sent the law enforcement in first? This is a Military operation, not Kuati Police. But no trouble, I'll go with it.
IC:
Brigadier General and Sith Maruader, Darth Veritas was not far from the chaos of battle. Many commanders preferred to lead from the back, others from the front, but Veritas was a successful combination of the two. Leading from the back meant you had to trust others to report what was happening accurately enough to plan a counter attack and where to send reinforcements. Leading from the front was rash and caused a high mortality rate in Commanding Officers that led as such. Veritas' combination of the two allowed him to know what was going on, and be capable of responding successfully, and not be as likely to be killed.
And so there was Darth Veritas, not yet into the Inquisitor's complex, but close enough that he could hear the explosions and whines of grenades and blasters. The idea to send the Kuati Law Enforcement in first had been a brain stroke on the part of one of his subalterns. They would serve as fodder for the Inquisitor's cannons as well as trip the security features within, while the main forces waited for the Inquisitors themselves to appear.
"Omega reports dropped." Came a voice through his comm system.
Good. He thought. The forces on the roof are ready.
He clicked his comm unit twice, which signaled an "Aye Aye" and then focused back at the battle around him. The forces above knew where to go and what to do there, he had no intention to meddle with their affairs but imposing himself as the guy who gets to say "Go!"
"Send in the 41st." He ordered. "Have them begin to climb up the tower. I want the first two levels cleared yesterday."
______________
The 41st Elite Legionnaires came up behind the Kuati Law Enforcement shields, with their Sith Troopers intermixed, sending the blaster bolts back towards their sources. The first level was cleared quickly after that, but they had lost nearly all of the Kuati Personnel.
Darth Dernic, a Sith Master and Sergeant Major leaped to the front of the line, guiding the troopers towards the safe turbolifts. He had an innate sense of foreboding, and knew which turbolifts were booby trapped and hopefully which were not. Packing as many troopers into a lift as was safe, they began the ascent to the second level, allowing the 281st to secure the first level.

((I thought you said you were gonna give me an intro? Whatever, I'll roll with it ))
As the forces pushed into the building from below, a platoon of special forces had dropped onto the roof and were preparing to go down from the top. Their call sign was Omega - the end. Their leader, Captain Dan Steiffen, felt the same anxiety he did on the dropship but amplified right here.
He watched as members of his platoon placed small charges on the heavy roof, while the others clipped on abseiling ropes and turned their weapon safety off. Chances were the Inquisitors would have felt their presence and sent men or droids to deal with them. Every member of the platoon was slightly Force sensitive, not enough to warrant their training as a Sith, but enough to grant them extra talent over regular soldiers. Every member he saw around him he had known for years, been through thick and then with each one, and trusted them all with his life. On a mission, if one died, he felt as though it was his fault, and it hit him hard.
Under his visor the explosions were nothing more than pops as the glass was cracked. The first wave of his platoon jumped on them, their weight shattering the glass and sending them down to the top floor amidst a rain of glass. They fanned out, securing a perimeter, watching and feeling for oncoming tangos. They were just tangos now. Targets. Just like any other mission.
When Dan roped down, he felt calm. He organised his platoon with the ease of one who had done it countless times and within a minute after being dropped they were moving to their separate targets, going over the plans they had rehearsed countless times, thanks to the constant preparation for all situations they had been given, and the skill of the Military strategists.

(( I used the Kuati because, why not sacrifice them instead of valuable military men? ))
The glass and ceiling came crashing down onto the top floor of the tower, it was a large intersection of halls that lead into the various offices, rooms, and turbolifts that were on the floor. The top floor had been the haven for what remained of the Inquisitors, men not truly accepted as trusthworthy followers but loyal enough to die for the cause.
When all the soldiers had finally dropped into the intersection, all the halls became sealed up by blast doors leaving only one hall to venture forth through. Turbo lasers mounted on the walls revealed themselves from behind their covers, the guns warmed up before releasing small volleys of lasers into the center of the room pushing the soldiers out into the only open hall.
--------------------------------------------
Down below the rooms shook, as military men poured into rooms searching for whatever remained of the Inquisitors, they encountered resistances from countless more droids and some were eventually cut off from their groups by the many halls that sealed them into their fates. When a large group would enter into a new area, the blast doors would then seal them in, and gases would be pumped into the halls or rooms.
From a large room near the top of the tower, the Inquisitors controlled some of the defenses of the towers, a lot of them were automatic but some of them allowed the twisted men some control over the lives of the soldiers who chose to play their game.

"Sir, the 281st has taken heavy casualties. They were ambushed by the doors and poisoned."
"They were ambushed by doors? Lieutenant, please tell me you weren't thinking when you said that."
"The doors were closed by remote and the chambers were filled with poisonous gas. Instantly killing the troopers trapped within."
"The 281st? At least we still have the Elite Legions. Have we had any reports from the other group?" He asked, pointing up.
"I do not know, sir. I will comm the leader." The Lieutenant answered, walking away dialing a Captain Dan Steiffen.
________________________
Darth Dernic was in shock. He had never been involved in real combat with the 41st Elite Legion. He had actually been transferred over when the 41st had been called in for this duty from the reserves here on Kuat. The 41st had very little Sith members, and so when it was noted that they would be facing Inquisitors that were probably majorly Sith, they had called in reserves.
He had done his job well so far, keeping troopers safe with his uncanny ability of foreshadowing, but those that had died cut into him. As a reservist, he had never encountered death, except maybe in training accidents. But those were training, not war and they were accidents, not the purposeful hatred by the Inquisitors that remained behind and killed the soldiers around him.
He hesitated, not really knowing what order to give the men behind him. He had never infiltrated a building before, especially the Inquisitor's building.
"Break up into squads." A voice came from behind him. "Each squad is to be separated by a good distance. Close enough to provide cover fire, but not close enough to fall into the same trap. One squad will enter a room, while another covers them from outside the door. Clear the level."
Darth Dernic turned to see a Mandalorian Armored figure. "Boba?" he asked purely on instinct.
The figure shook his helmeted head, "Jarik Sol. His son, brother, and father. An enhanced clone of Jango Fett." And then moved off.
"A fracking clone." Dernic muttered to himself. "They just don't go away."

Deep within the main control systems room the inquisitors charged with the oversight of security huddled around screens and holovideos of what was happening. "Well, we can't keep closing them off and killing them that way. They're becoming smart, like lap rats."
"Very well, release Inqusitor Seti's latest works. Poison them, feed them to the hounds, do everything it takes to slow them down." The man nodded and began to pull up the various failsafes in the buildings. Deep within those rooms hounds were snarling loudly, the scent of blood penetrating every room. The cages released the hounds and the doors opened, the beasts jumped over one another, clawing at one another as they made a dash for quickest route to their new found dinner.
"Sir, what do you want to do about our new friends upstairs?" the inquisitor asked the man overseeing the defenses. Rubbing his chin he grinned, "lets test out Seti's latest trial." The man sitting down looked at his screen and back to his superior. "It's untested, we don't know if it'll even be controllable yet."
"Exactly, let it run loose." The man nodded at the command and turned back around inputting override codes. Deep within the building a new invention rose, it's eyes glowing red as its body energized with life. A slight resemblence to the Vader 1000 Prototype, Seti left a new design with new strengths and abilities. It was untested and much of its capability unknown other than what was on paper. When the doors opened it charge out into the hallway searching for something to destroy.

Within the complex was a person who was not what he seemed. For years he had been a seemingly faithful Inquisitor, doing his duties as he should and when he should. But he was not as he seemed. The Inquisitor was an agent of the Military Intelligence. Infiltrated into the Inquisitors years ago, around the same time Lord Marix was being knighted. Supreme Commander Acrimonus had foreseen the need to know what the Inquisitors were doing at some point, whether it had been a vision of this invasion and betrayal, or just an uncanny sense.
Now was this agent's time to return to his true Order, the Military. His orders were simple, find Jarik Sol and clear his name, then fight alongside the 41st and clear the building.
________________________
Hounds? Jarik though to himself. They have hounds in this building?. It wasn't that he feared dogs, it was just an odd security feature. Organics required feeding, grooming, exercise, and could be swayed. A big juicy nerf steak would sway any hound, no matter how loyal to its master, especially in the hound was hungry.
"They have released hounds, watch out. And double check your respirators." He called through to the 41st Troopers that were still alive. He would work solo, clearing rooms on his own and then allowing the 281st to keep the room in their control. He almost always worked solo, unless it was with his brothers or Marix. Other troopers did not work as well of a team as he did with his brothers, and they could not anticipate his moves with the Force as Marix had done. So to save their lives, Jarik worked alone.
He hit the button that slid open the nearest door, and took a quick glance inside, quickly pulling back out. There were 6 armed droids within the room, all with their guns pointed at the door. He rolled in, firing his twin blaster pistols at the droids, hitting 3 immediately taking them down with sizzling wires sparking from their necks. The other 3 spread out, firing repeatedly in his direction, the shots that did hit deflected by the Mandalorian armor. He flick his wrist and watched the disc-grenade fly through the air, sticking into the chest armor of the droid in the middle. He ran out of the room, just missing the explosion behind him, which took care of the remaining droids. Panting, he ran to the next room to repeat the procedure if needed, waving 41st Troopers to the room next to his new target.
This went on for ten minutes, in which time they lost nearly 25% of the 41st Elite Troopers that had landed from the ships. Jarik then called for the 501st to begin replacing the lost breaching units.
"Who is this soldier that circumvents my authority?" Brigadier General Veritas commed and asked Lord Marix.
"He is a soldier that knows what he is doing. I gave him the authority to do what he sees fit to clear the building which you have yet to enter. That is all. Keep him happy and you will win."

Darth Thrax
|
The sounds of battle echoed throughout the dimly lit hallways of the now scarred building. A lone figure silently walked in the shadows of the darkest hallway and kept his head down. The building shook, but he kept his pace. He heard the shuffling of feet in the next hallway and he immediately stopped and lifted his head up. He heard barks and scratches coming from behind him and he turned and ignited his blade. He saw three hounds, but remained calm and collected. The first two jumped at him, but dropped to the ground as the emerald blade sliced right through them. The third whimpered in fear, but the man refused to leave it alive so he disposed of it like he had done to the first two. He returned his hilt back to his waist and he continued to walk down the dark hallway. He slowly lifted his comlink to his cold lips and turned it on. "This is Darth Thrax. Men, I am enroute to your position."

"Make your way to that conference room and set up some firing positions, go!" Dan bodily threw a soldier across the hallway, he staggered for a moment but soon regained his balance and charged into the spacious office, followed by a quartet of more men. Dan and the rest of his squad blasted away at the droids at the other end of the hallway, before breaking cover and heading into the conference room themselves.
As soon as the last trooper got in the heavy doors were slammed shut and bolted, and various chairs and the like placed behind it, forming a barricade. Upturned tables behind that provided cover for the men and the single light repeater one of them had brought. They waited patiently, weapons transfixed on the double doors, when a black gloved fist smashed through the door, and all the men heard the ominous sound of a respirator, though not just any respirator.
It was the unmistakable sound of Darth Vader.
|
Grand Inquisitor Prognie
|
"Mortals, no barrier shall save you!" the new Vader prototype was of an odd design, Seti had wanted to make something that not only thought it to be all powerful but one that thought it was beyond mortality. The vader prototype pulled its fist from the door and peaked in from the large hole it had made. Placing its hands against the barrier it released a forceful push, most of which was a sonic wave that replicated the force users force push. The door could not withstand the push, the hinges peeled from the wall and the door flew forward.
With the same instincts of Vader, the prototype summoned its blade forward and began deflecting the stream of lasers. The vader prototype released another sonic wave out before him without the slight hesitation that a normal force user had. "Your hope for victory ends here," following through with his words, the prototype charged forward with the same grace of a sith lord.
(Just a a note, the defenses in the building can be deactivated from Prognie's office. Since thrax is here, that is information he would have. I don't recommend Thrax doing it though. )

When they saw their lasers were futile, the men scattered, leaving a body behind whose laser had been deflected right back into his face, leaving a smoking charred hole. Dan quickly motioned with his hands to tell them to distract the Vader model, and they feigned running in terror to lure the Vader deep into the room, hacking after men or sending them flying with concussive sonic waves. Occasionally there would be a terrible scream as one would fall under his blade, or a sickening crunch as one was flung into a wall or something similar. Nevertheless, the men carried on, while Dan dashed around and gathered as many grenades as he could.
He used a piece of wire to tie them all together and bent the end into a hook. He then moulded a tiny piece of plastic explosive and stuck it to the grenade bundle. Satisfied with his makeshift bomb, Dan once again signalled with his hands for his men to open fire on the Vader. They instantly stopped their 'fleeing' and rolled into cover, before opening up on Vader from all angles. With lasers flying everywhere the Vader could not deflect them all and several hit his armour, chewing it up and leaving black pieces on the ground like tar from a freshly laid road. The Vader began to retreat into a corner, and as he did he paused to send a sonic wave at a trio of men taking cover behind an upturned table.
As he did that, Dan saw his chance and dashed in, lunging forward with great precision to hook the bundle onto Vader's belt. Instantly he charged out of the room, followed by as many of his platoon as were there, except for one. Dan had to set off the bundle by pressing the activation key on any of the grenades with the Force - quite a strenuous task for one like Dan, especially when he was exhausted from combat. Yet he couldn't activate them because one was still in there - Lieutenant McCoy. He had grabbed both the hands of the Vader and was not letting go, preventing the Vader from getting the bundle off of it's belt.
"McCoy! Get out of there!" Dan cried, waving frantically. Fortunately the droids had left - the Inquisitors clearly thought the Vader would be capable enough to dispatch them all. But McCoy held on, on the floor and holding the Vader off from crushing him with his feet. "No Dan, I've got to make sure this goes off. If it's by his feet, he won't get destroyed," McCoy said in a remarkably calm voice - the sort of calm that a man can only have once he is close to death and he knows what his true purpose is.
But Dan couldn't bring himself to do it. McCoy had served with him for six years, they had saved each others lives on numerous occasions and each trusted the other completely. They were like brothers. To his surprise, Dan felt tears rolling down behind his helmet. "I can't do it Len."
McCoy suddenly went still. Dan immedietly knew what was happening and charged forth, his arm outstretched, but two men grabbed him and held him back. The moment after there was a blinding white flash and a tremendous rush of heat that they all burned under despite their armour. Then there was the sound, a deafening explosion. Then... nothing. Just ringing. Dan screamed, still holding his hand out to his friend, crying properly now. He had known. All along he had known something was going to happen. Now he had to honour his friend. McCoy's sacrifice had destroyed the Vader and allowed them to continue their mission. His sacrifice couldn't be in vain. They had to succeed.
With steely determination Dan stood and stormed down the hallway, smashed through the piles of droid parts from the earlier battle, and set off for the Grand Inquisitor's office - their target. Silently his men rose and followed him, falling into perfect formation. They all knew that they were going to kill every damned Inquisitor they found. Behind them they left a blackened room, filled with burning furniature and bodies, and a pile of molten black armour and circuitry, standing over a body that was barely even ash.

Jarik Sol could sense the Inquisitor, well MI Agent, moving down the halls. He was not Force Sensitive, he had been told so, just had this sixth sense that let him know when a Force User was nearby. It had saved him multiple times as well as enabling him to capture Jedi along the way. He shifted his right hand blaster to be pointed at the Sith when he appeared.
"This is Darth Thrax. Men, I am enroute to your position." Came over the commlink.
"Halt Thrax." Jarik said as the faux-Inquisitor came around the corner. "Countersign code: Alpha Delta Foxtrot Charlie."
The MI Agent paused a bit and then replied with the proper countersign, "November November Sierra Bravo."
"Good. I need a sitrep now." Jarik said as he shot a droid over Thrax's shoulder, and began moving back towards the troops to debrief the MI Agent and hopefully gain valuable information.
[[Thrax, that info would be the Prognie office thing amongst other items.]]

The head of the Inquisitor team left to defend the building smiled, "I believe it is time we act as true hosts and welcome our friends. Gather your things, we'll show them how pathetic their attempt is."
The inquisitors in the room all rose, various deadly weapons hanging from their sides, daggers, large blasters, various poisons to be exposed. The building was still half operational, all it took was a few codes to activate a lift or too. The group split into two, the half that would lead the rest of the droids against the army and the other half that would confront the group on top. The head lead the group that would confront those above them.
-----------------------------------
The group that went to confront the head of the forces snuck by from the back. Using hidden turbolifts the inquisitors were able to sneak back down to the bottom floor. Whispering to one another from the hall they could see what was now the command post inside the building in the large lobby or what remained of it. The men squatted down, the patrols had let their guard down, a crucial moment to be taken advantage of by the Inquisitors. A rocket was put into a launcher and mere seconds fired off into the center of the post to further disrupt communication. "The chaos starts" the Inquisitors all quickly moved out back into the walls and sealed their exit. The Inquisitors split up, using the hidden paths behind the walls to get up and down floors. When the soldiers least expected it, an inquisitor would appear, breaking the soldier's lines and moving back into the shadows.
-----------------------------------------
Upstairs on the floos leading to the Grand Inquisitor's floor, the Inquisitors that remained gathered in the hall. Force trained and deadlier than the rest, the hall was dimly lit, all the soldiers that had managed to get to the floor had been slain. When the group of soldiers that had broken in from the ceilings came running forward they halted.
One of the Inquisitors did not waste time, his hand went down to his tigh where a dagger coated in poison rested. Snatching it with quick reflexes, the inquisitor hurled it toward the first soldier that dared to make his way, the force and momentum carrying the small blade. The dagger hit the exposed area of the soldier's neck, the dagger's poison flowing through his veins. The fast beat of his heart and the heavy stream of blood allowed the poison to move and act quickly. "That's one for me," the inquisitor said with a sinister smile.

[[Very nice post Prognie. I count at least 5 mistakes. ]]
The 281st's formations were ruined by the sneak attacks. Jarik Sol watched from down the hall, having come back to the lobby to debrief Thrax and then reassign him to wherever he was needed.
"Get the 281st out of there. Have them retreat out while bringing the 501st in to cover them and take over. We have pros here, and need an Elite Legion. have the D.A.R.C. Platoon report to me." The Dark Advanced Recon Commandos was Supreme Commander Marix's upgrade to the Clone Army's A.R.C.'s and worked well with the Heir to the Fett Legacy.
Jarik Sol took aim and launched a poisoned dart from his gauntlet at the Inquisitor who stuck his head out, instantly killing him.
"Thrax, I need info and need it now." He said as he ran down the hall towards the main entrance, where the DARC would be.

[ Psh, I was at working trying to get that post in before you departed. ]
The Inquisitor's neck was pierced by the dart, a poison flowing through him causing him to shake and drop. The turrets in the hallway appeared from their resting spots behind walls and released a stream of lasers in the direction of the mercenary. His direction was miscalculated, at the end of the hall he had ran down, an inquisitor stood in wait.
"You seem a bit lost, we're a bit busy here but I am a gracious host. I'll attend to you myself." The inquisitor had taken no pause, reaching down to his side he pulled three small blades that he then launched from his palm with his right hand. With precision and speed the blades, coated at the tips with a lethal poison, headed to their target's most exposed areas.

[[Understandable. ]]
It was not instinct, but reflex that drove Jarik at this moment. As the lethal blades flew across the room, Sol's jet pack was ignited carrying him up to the ceiling, away from the darts that flew at normal man-height. From his vantage point above the Inquisitor, he fired a spread of 6 blaster bolts, at varying heights and angles towards the traitorous scum, in an attempt to make it harder to dodge.
As the bolts flew across the room, Jarik cut the jet pack power and fell to ground level, landing on his armor clad feet. Rolling forward he pulled the trigger again to make sure he got the Inquisitor.

A red blade appeared in front of the Inquisitor, using his skill he deflected the first blaster bolts with the same grace of a Sith but as far as the Empire knew, he wasn't. Prognie had trained many Inquisitors that could feel the force to hone whatever power they could, it was the only way to provide him with a large enough base of force users outside of Sith control. The inquisitor did not waste time, he darted down a hallway cackling as he moved out of Jarik's line of sight.
As Jarik realized the Inquisitor disappeared, the lights on the floor went out, the roar of lasers all over sweeping the floor as well as the one above and below. As if speaking from all over the Inquisitor called to Jarik, "A clone helping the Empire. How cute, perhaps you too shall suffer the fate of your creators. And I shall let it be known that you fell in battle, and not any battle, the battle that began the rise of a new era."

Several of the soldiers under his command had now caught up to Dan as he made his way towards Prognie's office. He rounded a corner and saw a flash of red, reacting on pure instinct to pivot aside, although the blade carried on and punctured the neck of the man behind Dan, dropping him with a gurgling sound. Dan whipped around and fired his prototype PCT-X3 Shotgun, a model which was still in testing. The Inquisitor couldn't react fast enough and his stomach exploded in red mist as he took several bolts from the shotgun at near point-blank range.
Instantly Dan fired again at the face of another Inquisitor who raised his lightsaber to intercept the bolts, though the spread of them meant that three went around the blade and into his face, which sent him bawling to the floor. Dan fired twice at the remaining pair of Inquisitors who were backing away and ruthlessly stamped on his neck. A squad of droids rounded the other end of the corridor and opened up, so regretfully Dan backed away, meeting up with the rest of his fractured platoon.
"2nd platoon are on the roof Boss," Sergeant Keith said. Dan nodded slowly. Everything was a fuzz to him. Yet he could hear, crystal clear, the Inquisitors on the other side were increasing in number and preparing to attack - he could also tell in the Force that some of them were pretty powerful. Wordlessly, he walked away, back to their drop zone. They would advance when they had more men. There was no time limit on their mission, it just had to be done, and it would get done. A little taken aback, the men who had just run after him to try and save him followed, after a brief hesitation.

Grand Inquisitor Prognie
|
An inquisitor stepped from the back of the emerging group, calling to the cowardly guards from beneath her hood, "No no no, please, stay." As she called out the halls leading back to their drop zone had closed. All that remained was the path before them, littered with inquisitors.
"Did you think you could come into our home and take what is rightfully ours?" The inquisitors all laughed in unison, an eerie feeling crept through the hall as the hooded beings gathered waiting for the soldiers to dare move forward.
"Very well soldiers of the Eternal Empire, if it is a fight you seek, it is a fight you shall get." As the Inquisitors all began to move forward in unison, an explosion rocked the building from below. An entire floor of the building collapsed and caught the inquisitors off guard. The soldiers too were surprised but were ready to take advantage of the precious moments. Lasers flew down the hall striking many of the inquisitors taking them all by surprise. "Draw back!" The woman leading the group called. Their numbers were taken down by half, putting them on an even ground with the soldiers before them. They would have to take them by surprise next.

Outside the Inquisitor Building
For any soldier still watching the building, the explosion of the 22nd floor came as a surprise, every window on that level shattered, spilling shards of glass in all directions upon the streets below. Many began to take cover; commanders were calling for more information regarding what caused the blast.
"We're not sure sir, but whatever it was, the Inquisitors hadn't expected it either." the muffled responses of soldiers relaying the information from the building. Every report followed the same basic idea; whatever caused the explosion was not from the Inquisitors in the building already.

Jarik Sol let his training and instincts take over. He waited for the Inquisitor's voice to fade away, allowing his audio sensors to finish their directional analysis, and give him the general location. He switch his gauntlet over to its flame thrower, and unleashed a blast of fire where the Inquisitor had been. He fanned the fire back and forth, increasing its width, trying to catch up with the Inquisitor, wherever he had gone.
"Thrax. Now would be as good a time as any to start helping." He stated over the unit comm's, hoping that the ex-Inquisitor would hear him and hunt down this rogue agent of Prognie that had fallen into the shadows around Jarik. While he didn't fear facing such a man, he knew having a Sith on his side would make it a whole bit easier.

Darth Thrax
|
The reinforced blast door was sent crashing into the room as Darth Thrax shot a powerful Force wave at it. He could sense Jarik within the room and an inquisitor as well. He didn't hesitate as he entered the room, but he was cautious. Thrax ignited his emerald blade and held it vertically behind his back right as the inquistor struck at him. He forcefully jumped off of the ground and landed a few meters away from the inquisitor. Atleast now with the enemy's lightsaber activated, Jarik and Thrax could see him. He stood up straight and held his emerald blade defensively, waiting for another attack from the inquisitor.

Grand Inquisitor Prognie
|
The Inquisitor flicked his lightsaber off and melded back into the shadows, that was one of the inquisitor's greatest assets, they could disappear quickly. Moving around the room he would quickly strike at both Jarik and Thrax from the darkness, lighting his blade only when he was near them.
"Thrax, it is foolish of you to come here today traitor. But perhaps it was destiny that chose for you to die today, here in the very place you had forsaken." Grabbing one of the large tables in the room, the Inquisitor launched it at both Jarik and Thrax, Thrax being the first to feel the danger moved to avoid as well as knocked Jarik out of the way. The inquisitor relit his blade and swung it too late only catching the side of Jarik's arm. Twirling his blade he brought it toward Thrax who had recovered from the first attack and parried his blow. Before thrax could hit him again the Inquisitor melded back into the darkness.

Dan had amassed as many men as he could, adding to his ragged band fresh troops from second platoon. Third platoon, the last unit they had, had just deployed and were taking a longer route. Dan would lead an attack directly on Prognie's office. They had advanced along the corridors, being preyed on by Inquisitors that would appear from no where, kill a man and disappear instantly, like predators in a horror film. It was terrifying at first, but Dan and his men were trained Force killers. They reacted to the situation well, fanning out and as soon as one man came under attack the others threw stun grenades, which their helmets protected them against - and the Inquisitors were vunerable. They were unable to use their camoflague or defend themselves and were quickly taken down - soon the attacks stopped.
Then the droids and the turrets came. Turrets would drop from the ceiling or pop out from under the floor or behind the walls and would spray them with deadly laser bolts. The corridors provided little cover for all the forty odd men, so they advanced slowly, with single three man fireteams going first to check the corridors. If a squad of droids attacked, the others would come up fast and help them out. While they advanced, 3 Platoon had gone out the windows and were edging around the building to get behind Prognie's office. After a painfully slow journey they arrived and planted charges on the reinforced window - one in each corner. Even after these detonated, the window still had not broken. A cluster of five charges was placed in the middle and this was enough to shatter the huge pane of glass. 3 Platoon were in.
To 1 and 2 Platoons, now down to the strength of a single platoon, the effect was instant. Droids and Inquisitors abandoned their positions and charged away towards the office. The turrets delayed Dan and his men, but not for long enough. Soon they arrived at the office as well, and saw barely half of 3 Platoon alive, outnumbered and outgunned by the Inquisitors. Well, not outnumbered anymore, and as a heavy repeater one of Dan's men had opened up, it didn't seem like they were outgunned either.

Grand Inquisitor Prognie

The remaining Inquisitors stood in front of Prognie's office, their lightsabers deflecting the onslaught. One of the offices that sat close to the Grand Inquisitor's opened, the head of the remaining Inquisitors in the building stepped out into the fray. Blasters stopped, lightsabers had disappeared back into their state of lifelessness, the man held out a hand in front of him to signal the troopers to cease fire. "It amuses me to see that you've pushed this far, a failure on our own part."
Another explosion rocked the entire building, alarms sounded before they too ceased and the inquisitor stood with only a smile upon his face. "Do you feel that? It's the Grand Inquisitor's wish that you be laid to rest here, the final failsafe of this building is to have you die here along with your foolish allies below." The Inquisitor looked at his chrono, "you seem to be a bit on time, you have approximately five minutes to beat us or run as we are not going to let you pass into this office."
Before the Inquisitors could react, two transport ships hovered near the window to the office besides Prognie's, the ship's gun poured through the glass causing alarm amongst the already disorganized group. Lightsabers reactivated but some were not enough to redirect the large lasers. Inquisitors were shot down before finally all that was left were bodies.
The terminal to Prognie's office suddenly appeared, a countdown on the terminal counting down from five minutes. Five minutes before the supposed failsafe of the Inquisitor's would activate.

Jarik Sol turned his HUD to infra-red and watched the heated lightsaber projector plate move around in the darkness. The Inquisitor's clothing trapped his heat and made it more difficult to see, but the plate was like a beacon. Taking aim the Mandalorian fired with boy blaster and then dropped a grenade in the awake direction. The Inquisitor was good, by not good enough to miss the blast from the grenade. Perhaps if he had known that Jarik knew where he was, but he had not.
"Thrax. He's yours to deal with." The warrior stated, "Meet me in the lobby when you are done."

Dan and his men quickly finished the remaining Inquisitors and droids. The men of his company immediately ran around securing a perimeter and battling a few scattered enemies that remained. It was funny that Dan considered that the Inquisitors were the enemies of the Empire when before they were vital to her success. Now they, the most feared beings in the whole Empire, were nothing but targets, and seeing them get torn apart by the transport's heavy cannons showed Dan that they were just as human, or whatever species, as anyone else. Nevertheless, the ominous counter scared the daylights out of Dan, as it probably did his men, yet they kept a professional calm about them, a true testament to Military discipline.
A team of engineers set up a computer next to the database in the office, and in a minute they were through the security systems and the data was being transferred to the Military headquarters. With 3:35 on the clock an engineer looked worriedly towards Dan.
"Sir, someone has to stay behind to select all the files and ensure they are all sent to the mainframe. It can't be done automatically."
Dan looked at him for a moment, but he had already made his decision. "Go. Back to the roof, all of you. Get on the transports and get out of here. I'll transfer the files."
The men who heard turned round in protest, but Dan cut them off. "Did you not hear me? That was an order. Move out!"
Silently, they nodded. A few clapped Dan on the shoulder as they passed. Moments later there was a deadly quiet in the office of the Grand Inquisitor, save for Dan's breathing and the ever going beeping of the timer. He continued to do what he needed to, what the mission objective was, silently, passively. He accepted that he was going to die. But he was dying for what he believed in. For what he loved. He had nothing else.
The timer reached two minutes.

Darth Thrax
|
Thrax grunted in response to Jarik as another blast hit the building. He knew that the inquisitor was very close to him, he could feel it, but he didn't know where. "Just like an inquistor, hiding in the shadows, waiting until his enemy is too weak to attack." A flash of red could be seen to his left and he ducked while swinging his lightsaber. The red saber seemed to flash from his side to behind him in the nick of time and slashed at Thrax's back.
The ex-inquisitor could sense the danger he was in and rolled forward, shooting a burst of lightning in the direction of his enemy. He heard the inquisitor cackle wickedly as he avoided the lightning and the red saber deactivated. Thrax stood up straight and peered into the darkness, shooting lightning in every direction. He could faintly make out the shape of the inquisitor in the shadows and he charged forward, following the shadow.
A flash of red and green appeared as the zabrak and the inquisitor ignited their sabers. Thrax slashed left then right then left again, only to be kicked in the shin by his enemy. The zabrak narrowly avoided his death and rolled to the side, jumping to his feet as he did so. He swung his saber horizontally at the inquisitor's back, but his foe brought his saber over his head to block it.
"You will die for betraying us, Thrax." The inquistor snarled loudly as he locked sabers with the zabrak warrior. Thrax remained expressionless as he began to lose control and the inquisitor began to smirk wickedly, completely unaware.
In an instant, another flash of green appeared behind the inquisitor and his smirk began to fade. Thrax bared his teeth and growled ferociously, his other saber through the man's stomach. As he pushed the body to the floor, he looked into the eyes of the now dead inquisitor and yelled, "Traitor!"
Thrax met up with Jarik once more in the lobby and they ran back to where the soldiers were, hoping to reach them before anything worse happened.

(There was no timer btw on that computer, I believe I told marix that once you reached the office i was sort of taking control of that whole situation.)
The computers that were being downloaded from showed their progress slowly, but as it slightly progressed it picked up until the entire screen flickered as information scrolled across it in various languages and texts. The information began to corrupt itself, the entire system was deleting all files that were left in the buildings.
The countdown for the detonation decreased rapidly and hit zero. The entire building stopped, every door window unlocked and all terminals and lights shut off. The entire tower went still, before everything finally came to life. The terminals had large skulls on them before all life went blank.
From the tip of the building to the lobby floor, fire erupted from each floor outside in a large explosion blowing glass and debris from the tower back onto the floor. The force of the explosion broke the support beams toward the tip of the right building, bending from the weight and the lack of support the top completely broke off and hurled down to the streets below.
Fire. Fire erupted from the corners of Kuat: the university exploded outward, the military base erupted in flames, and the K-9 platform exploded, its repulsor lifts gave out plummeting all life down to the streets below.
The second tower of the Inquisitor headquarters exploded after, spilling debris and glass to the floors of the streets upon the unsuspecting soldiers of the Empire. Large pieces of the building fell, fire began to spread across to the other buildings that were close proximity to them.
