And if you can't see the error in your actions then that is not really a problem of myself or anyone on this site. And if you can't be flexible enough not to fix something when someone recommends a change then we don't need you and I'm sure no one else will either. "It's my way or the highway" only works when you're emperor. After that you have to negotiate your point or win he argument. | ||||||||||

If I cried every time I knew I made an enemy i'd create rivers. seriously, get over it and i'm not saying this in a condescending way I'm saying it in a, "this is pointless". Do you think Shadow had many loves when he became Emperor? No, his ratio of supporters to people who wanted him away from power was definitely leaning toward the latter. I'm going to add to this post. Don't leave. I know what it feels like to feel that everyone is against you. I used to feel that every two days in 2006, only instead of you remaining calm, I would deal with it by flaming anyone against me, including people higher ranking and lower ranking than me, on both rebels and TDSL. i was waaay more childish than anything on the forums, to the point where Abba's 8 year old brother acted more mature than me. My reasoning isn't the best, but i hope that it gets through to you. In summary, don't leave, Marix has a history of arguments. Not as bad as my history(Which I am ashamed of), but a history nonetheless. Sorry if this is deemed as disrespectful or insulting in any way, I am just pointing out something. If you wish to punish me, then do so accordingly. |

DSL isn't a popularity contest. As pointed out, I was disliked by a lot of people, chief among them being Marix and Vexen. I count on them as allies. Tarna once hated me. These situations arise to shape us into better communicators and hopefully better team players. I would be nowhere without the trust and support of these people. Their weight may seem like it's stacked against you, but it's not. We all have overlapping niches here. No one wants to steal glory, I, your Emperor, Main Admin, Sultan, or what have you, will not let them. I am not coddling today of all days. My sympathy was checked in Jacksonville. By my count, this is the thirteenth time you have threatened me with leaving. I am frankly put out with this. Choose your path and everyone else will deal with it. I hope you stay. If you don't, my faith in promoting qualified newbies will be shattered. So, in short, adapt. No one bends to the unbendable. |

First off, every "squabble" that you speak of was started because you would ignore the suggestions and advice given to you by myself and others. You yourself said you ignore everything I say, now does that make you look mature? I never said the site hated you and you are a disgrace, I pointed out to you that you reminded me of myself and others I have seen in my earlier days and that the path came to no good. I was trying to help you. I pointed out to you that your haughty attitude could make users dislike you, but not that everyone hated you at the present. I have seen members of other sites threaten to leave when things didn't go their way, and that did not make the matters any better. If you cannot work with me, or those who don't support you or always agree with you, then you are not fit to be in a position of responsibility. As many others have pointed out here, I have not always gotten along with members here, Shadow, Prognie, and Xander to point out a few. If every time I argued with them, win or lose, and then I never worked with them ever again, the site would probably be dead. I know that gives myself glory, but it is more than likely true. I just want to point out is that every argument takes 2 sides and 2 persons, so it cannot just be my or Adenn’s fault. You yourself are not easy to work with and you do not like to listen and be productive with your responses in an argument. When someone has a good point, you merely say “Admin/Mod Lock This” or “This Conversation is Ended”. Imagine how that must make me feel? Every time I and others offer up a good point, you ignore it/them and move on. If that way of life was productive, there wouldn’t be a Q & A Thread for many of the Orders and the Empire itself.
If every time someone insulted me, I left the site it was on, I would have no sites to RP on and have fun on. As for you saying that I am "clearly immature", I would like to see some reasoning behind it. The facts are that I have been here longer than you, have gone through more than you, and have withstood it all without threatening to leave or calling my adversaries immature. I am still here, through it all, does that make me immature?
I am not going to advise you to stay, because You "ignore everything I say", I am not going to say nice things about you that I cannot honestly say. It is not all about you here. You are not the only one who gets the right to enjoy their time here. You have as much a claim to that as the other 300 registered members of this site. You yourself do not go out of your way to make my or anyone else's time here enjoyable, yet when things don't go your way, you threaten to leave... I have "wasted" countless PM's advising you to change your attitude slightly or to play nice. Not this time. If you cannot deal with the people here and compromise to make everyone's time here pleasant, then I am GLAD that you are leaving. You are not helping the site if you do anything different. |

Thank you, Darth Celestial, for merely acting like a child here. It is easy for someone to stand up and tell others to stop. It is easy to call others "children", and call arguments that DO NOT INVOLVE YOU "petty". What is hard is trying to resolve the argument and disagreement, which is what you should be trying to do, and what I am trying to do. I have no fire, I do not purposely pick on Aequitas. If you acted like him and had made the same moves he has done, I would have responded the same way. I responded to his actions, not to him. I just love how others find the need to stand up and say "STOP!". I think the both of us realize that it needs to end, but I cannot just let it end without a productive and positive ending, and I believe Aequitas feels the same. That would be counter-productive. |

This is getting us nowhere. No more speeches, no more posturing and no more saber-rattling. You aren't impressing me or anyone who sways me.
My primary sources of wisdom have been - hmm, wise? - to stay out of this. I have expressed my discontent with this situation. EVERYONE involved here needs an attitude adjustment. This issue spilled into the public venue because I asked for cooperation. Ultimately, my call for unity further divided you all, and for that I am ashamed. It's time to pick up the pieces and make some tough decisions. I am shaking up this staff beyond recognition, like it or not and that is not a threat. I promised to make DSL a better place and suddenly two important members have been attempting to take blood baths on my watch. You both owe each other apologies. Very public, very sincere apologies to attempt to curry the favor of the other. Aequitas, like it or not you'll be working with Marix. Marix, whether or not you care, you're going to have to come to terms with the leadership style of Aequitas. Neither of you is absolutely right, but neither of you is absoutely wrong. I cannot babysit this forum 24/7. I managed to find a computer long enough to type this, so don't think my anger is for naught. Marix, it is horribly pretentious to assume this forum is alive because of you and does not bode well for your image as a moderate to say such things. Aequitas, constructive criticism is not flaming. Marix is not always attacking you. There are ways to point out problems that you have misconstrued in the past. I want EVERYONE to see all sides of an issue before they fly of anymore handles. I demand pride in ranking users. Do you people understand what this means? More than just pride in yourselves, which isn't worth my spit in the desert. If you don't all man up, lick your wounds, and have pride in each other, this site, each other's accomplishments and believe in the fun that can be had here, then we've reached our own little parting of the ways. So, gentlemen, which of you has the most pride and can be counted on? If the answer is both: then live like it. If the answer is one: then triumph. If the answer is neither: then leave us in peace. Ultimately, the decision is yours. I won't be happy if either of you leave, but understand that little to nothing can be accomplished with unending bickering. Do I need to remove one of your PM privs to keep you from flaming via PM? Or should I structure the forum to accomodate these fights and prevent you from ever interacting? Think about it. |
