Mace Vs Siduos, What happened?Did Mace really beat Sidous or was the Dark Lord holding back, your thoughts please

The Dark Lord was holding back for Anakin to get there. When Anakin arrived, he allowed himself to look beaten; therefore convincing the young Jedi it was an assasination attempt on an old, defenseless man.

that makes since but what if Ankain hit traffic, then He would have been screwed. How about the Batlle of Yoda and Sidous, did the Dark Lord win fairly or was it a fluck.

Palpatine won fair and square in the battle between him and yoda. I mean the emperor threw the senate pods like there was nothing to it. And yoda did it with only one that required a great deal of concentration. So I think Palpatine was more powerful.

Yeah but Yoda wasnet trying to throw its strait at Sidous, he spun it first for more affected, i think if Yoda and Sidous went at in on a flat serface Yoda woudl win.

I beg to differ. Yoda may have been more skilled with the use of a lightsaber,, but when it came to being attuned with the force Palpatine was far more dangerous.

quite the opposite. Sideous would have won with the saber but Yoda would win force-wise

I see Yoda & Sidious as equal. Yoda was defeated because of his size. Sidious had the higher ground & gravity working to his advantage. Recall that Yoda brought a pod flying at him to a full mid air stop, & threw it back at Sidious. This requires twice the power expended because Yoda had to stop the forward momentum of the pod, then reverse that momentum. 2nd, with force lightning- both Yoda & Sidious were repelled by the force at the same time. Yoda had the lower ground & could not maintain his grip on the pod. Sidious was thrown to a higher pod & kept his advantage. If anything I would say Sidious outpositioned, but not outpowered, Yoda.

yesi totally agree with that if they were on level ground i believe it would of been a diffrent fight but maybe thats why palpatine kept the high ground because he didnt want there to be a possibility that yoda couuld win

I recall somewhere somebody saying that Yoda chose to flee because he had touched the darkness within and it scared him.

wowi never have heard that thats an intresting point do you think yoda would be that scared of the dark side being so powerful or was he scared because if he fell to the dark side he would be a very powerful sith and he didnt want that to be a possibility

Perhaps the ROTS novel Shadow? It contains something similar. That Yoda realised the strength of the Sith and fled in shame, that the Sith had adapted over their 1,000 year absence, but the Jedi hadn't.

Yoda should have joined the dark side, he would have been the most powerfull of the Sith.

Supreme Prophet Praxeum

That would have been amazing...until the rule of two made his apprentice step on him.

Emperor Shadow

With the Dark Side, I'm fairly sure Yoda would have stepped on Vader.

I actually have a picture of that, It's my screen-saver.

Yoda was great as in total, he had all skills that was great. Palpatine on the other hand was corrupt in his ways, so Yoda would have probably beat him.

No way. Yoda was the Grandmaster. He represented the Jedi Council as well as the Order in all his actions. Seeing Yoda, you could see the Jedi might.
However, Palpatine was the epitimy(sp?) of the Sith. He was sly and cunning. He was able to evade recognition for decades. He was immensley powerful. I would say it would have been an equal match.
