Scyrone flies down through the planet atmosphere of Illum, the ice planet, in his A-Wing Starfighter. The Ithorian sticks his head out of the cockpit, with a rush of icey wind streaking past his eyes. He gets out of the cockpit and feels the ground he is on. The soft snow whips up every few seconds, streaming accross his legs. And he cant see anything 5 feet in front of him.
"I better get going," whispered the Ithorian to himself.
Scyrone traveled accross the snowy, distracting landscape, looking at nothing except snowflakes blowing all around him. He used the force to sense where he was going. After about half an hour he arrived at a small cave, with a homing beacon at it. He set the homing beacon to bring Mainred to his position, so they could start there training.
"Its dam cold in here," shivered the Master.
With that Scyrone went deeper into the cave and found a small control box inwards at the cave. He flipped one of the switches and a feint light could be seen a little ways down the passage way. Scyrone made his way back to the entrance of the cave, where a heater had been started by the switch and a heat bubble had been set up at the cave entrance.
OOC: During my previous travels I had stayed here on Illum for a few months setting up a home for me, it didnt work out fully and I left Illum. This cave is the unifnished work of my house.
Darth Mainerd
Seeing that a homing beacon had been activated for him, Mainerd flew towards the planet Illym (Isn't it Ilum or is this somewhere different?), touching down and getting off his ship. Squinting through the cold and snow, he headed inside the cave. Feeling the heat, he looked over at Darth Scyrone.
"I am here, Master."
Prophet Scyrone
OOC: By the time I am finished with your training you will know how to RPG properly and what to expect from your opponents. You need a lot of work, but I will only teach you necessities and a few other skills along the way.
IC:
Scyrone looks outside to see his Apprentice, Mainred, walking towards him. Mainred stepped inside the cave and sighed over the warmth of the cave.
"I am here, Master." said Mainred confidently.
Scyrone looked at his Apprentice with an unemotional face.
"At least Greetings or Hello would be more appropriate." replied the Master.
"I am sorry Master."
"It's ok. Take a seat."
Scyrone pointed his Apprentice towards a seat he had unfolded only minutes earlier. The Apprentice took haste to sit down. The Human slumped back into the chair and took a deep breath of the moderatly warm air. Scyrone kept his eyes among his Apprentice, even though his Apprentice didn't once look at him since he greeted him. The Ithorian paced the room.
"Hmmmm, you need training. Illum is one of the many places I traveled among during my journeys. I trained here for a little while too. It is here I found my first lightsaber crystal."
Scyrone held his Lightsaber firmly in his hand.
"I chose the glorious yellow blade."
Scyrone paused for a second, and looked deep into his imagination. Realizing he was on Illum with his Apprentice again, the Ithorian shook his head and paced again.
"It is here where you will choose your first Lightsaber crystal. It is here where the beginning of your training begins. There is no room for failure. But there will be mistakes I can assure you."
Mainred was now contently looking at his Master, obviously paying much attention.
"I will not fail you Master."
"I am sure you won't."
OOC:
I will now critique your first post:
Quote:

Seeing your first post I dont have much to say. It is actually spelled Illum. I dont see any grammer mistakes, or spelling mistakes too much. Some things you should try to do when RPing is to not be afraid of writing longer posts. Talk a little bit more. Be your character, if your character is quiet, then type more feeling. If your character is talkative, then type more feeling. One thing I always try to press on my students and peers is DETAIL DETAIL DETAIL. If there is no detail in your writing it gets boring and then I get bored. You know those duels that go:
Post 1: I go into this stance.
Post 2: I try to slice you. And I block your attack.
Post 3: I take you down and make sure you cant get out of my hold.
I automatically never reads those duels, because they are written by people that are afraid to expand there writing and are afraid to make mistakes. I have made many mistakes before in my writing. And I learn from them. I was trained to write in the DJB. In that place if you cant write you are ridiculed. The first time I madea post there in a duel, a dude wrote a 3 page essay on how many mistakes I made in my first post. And it was 9 point font. If people think i am harsh in dueling, then youve seen nothing yet. I really want to pressure you to learn how to RP properly and easily. Now you, mainred, went into some detail, but other things you couldve done, explain what your ships was, explain what happened when you got out of the cockpit, what you thought during this adventure. Basically I want you to reply to my post with paragraphs of writing. If you make a mistake, dont be afraid of it. I wont pound you down, I will tell you what you did wrong and tell you how to improve.
Darth Mainerd
OOC: Okay, I'll try to be more detailed. Thanks for the correction. Also, you posted what I said then responded to it. Am I supposed to do the same thing? And also, each time I try to upload an avatar, it says there is some sort of an error. If they are too big, it says so, but otherwise there is some kind of an error. Do you know what to do or should I contact an administrator?
IC: "I will not fail you Master," Mainerd said.
"I am sure you won't," his master replied.
Mainerd thought back on his words "But there will be mistakes I can assure you." He wondered what exactly his master meant by this. Was it that he was wanting or expecting him to make a mistake, or did he simply mean what he said that no one could do this perfectly. As a perfectionist, Mainerd would try his absolute hardest not to make a mistake, but he knew that if his master said he would, then he would whether he wanted to or not.
"What must I do?"
Picking a crystal would be easy enough, but he wasn't sure if it was going to be that easy. He wasn't sure if there was something else he had to do before or while doing it.
Thinking about lightsabers, he thought about the bright colors that the blades were. He had watched in amazement as the golden blade pierced the dimly lit room, illuminating it with it's regal glow. Mainerd had always favored the shining crimson blade with its bright red. The color of blood and the color of evil.
However, they were on Illum and Illum is abundant in blue and green. Thinking back to the Old Republic and the Jedi Knights who used this planet to find their crystals. There had been abundant in the blues and greens and some yellows, with the exception of a few other Jedi and the legendary Jedi Master, Mace Windu, who used a purple lightsaber.
He was anxious to begin his training and to become a powerful Sith Lord with a lightsaber in his hand, removing his enemies from existance. His own training, he thought back, was rather insufficient. He excelled in sword combat and the more telekinetic aspect of the Force, but there were many things, all of them in which he had done poorly at or not done at all.
Removing himself from his thoughts, he focused his attention back at his master to hear his reply.
Prophet Scyrone
OOC: YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PERFECT!!!!! That is exactly what I am looking for!
Just to answer some questions, whenever you type something in RL our Out Of Character, then you type OOC and say it, and rather try to say it at the beginning of the post, unless you are training someone. Another thing we will be focusing on realism, which alot of people have a BIG problem with, you dont, but some people would say:
Post 1: I will fight you Sith Lord.
Post 2: You are weak Apprentice. *I attack you*
Post 3: I take down the Sith Lord and push him back, but he somehow over powers me.
I hate when that happens. Another thing, since now I know you are able to write longer paragraphs, its fine if you dont type in long paragraphs, it should just be pretty reasonable length.
Darth Mainerd
OOC: Okay thanks.
Prophet Scyrone
IC:
"Tomorrow's gonna be another day. It might not look like it, but it is getting late, and I am tired. I will show you to where we sleep."
With that, Scyrone grabbed a lamp, and went down into the depths of the cave. Mainred followed close behind the Ithorian. As they went farther and farther down the cave, it got colder and colder, and darker and darker. About ten minutes later, they arrived at an open door, covered by a bubble. This bubble, like on the front of the cave, trapped heat inside a room. THey stepped into the room and there was two beds on the opposite side of the room. It was also very warm, and had a small overhead light on the roof. In the middle of the room, on the wall, there was a case of a multiple of guns and blaster rifles.
"This is where we will sleep. When you wake up in the morning, then go out of the room directly to the right and you will reach the cave entrance, where we were."
With that the Master got directly into one of the beds, while Mainred got into the opposite one.
"Cya in the morning," whispered the tired Ithorian.
"Cya," replied Mainred.
With that Scyrone went immediatly to sleep, his breathing from both his mouths could be heard silently.
OOC: There is something that all duelers and RPers need to get past themselves before they actually start a duel. That thing is naming. Your probly thinking "What the hell is naming?" Well its basically naming and titling your opponent or your allies in the duel.
e.g.
I am Scyrone, also an Ithorian, also a Master, also a former Acolyte, also I am tall, I have purple tinted eyes.
You are Mainred, an Apprentice, a Human, former Adept, and many other things.
When you are RPing dont be afraid to mention me as the Ithorian. Its is basically a name to me. Why? Because there are no other Ithorians in the RP. So feel free to say in any RP or duel:
"The Priest through punch" or "The Nagai was typing heartily" or "The Grey-Skinned Man took two, not one, droid from the shop."
Name people different names. BUT be careful with it.
e.g. If there are two Masters in the duel against you, then dont say, "The Master took a swipe at me." Specify which Master it was.
This "naming" is a very important part of RPing as it not only makes it interesting but it helps you find out more about others and other know more about you.
Darth Mainerd
OOC: Okay, got it.
IC: Mainerd wasn't really tired. The cold had waken him up, as well as the flight here and the discussions he and the Ithorian had. He began to think about what was going to happen tomorrow and what might happen tomorrow. Listining to the silent breathing of his master, his thoughts continued.
He shut his eyes and began to clear his mind, slipping into a meditative state to clear them completely so he could sleep more soundly. Eventually, as the meditation got deeper, he fell asleep in the state of mind, totally oblivious to anything that was happening. If his master would wake him up, he would, but anything else wouldn't bother him at all.
Prophet Scyrone
OOC: One thing people think that i think is that I only want you to RP like this in this site. Wrong, one everysite you RP on I want you to RP like you are doing on these posts. Not only will it impress certain people, but it will help you gain power and rank faster.
IC:
Scyrone woke up that morning to the sound of his Apprentice. The Human seemed to be breathing heavily, so Scyrone did as best as he could not to wake him. Scyrone slowly got out of the bed and slipped a black leather robe over the clothes he slept in. Since it was pretty cold outside, and in certain parts of the tunnel, the Ithorian decided to slip a special Ithorian, woven cover over his head, and the top of his mouth. The Master then went out the door and queitly ran down the cold-floored hall. Scyrone could feel the cold cave on his bare feet. But as he got farther up the tunnel, the warmer and warmer it got.
"Ahhhh," sighed the Two-Mouthed Ithorian, "Warm, unnatural air."
The Ithorian lit up a small burner with a tray on it. On it he layed Ithorian Chesspaas, a delicacy of Ithorian that can have two different tastes on each side of the mouth, and some Rancor Meat for his Apprentice, who would probly find the delicacy horrid for his taste.
Scyrone knew exactly what they were going to do that day. His Apprentice would have to take a test to decide which Lightsaber color he might like the most, although he wudnt have to go by it, it wud just be a recommendation.
OOC: For a first part of real training I want you to take this whole post a typed now and fix the spelling mistakes (put the corrected words in Italics). Also, Chesspaas is my own creation and is not an actual delicacy of Ithorians.
Darth Mainerd
OOC: Okay.
CORRECTIONS: Scyrone woke up that morning to the sound of his Apprentice. The Human seemed to be breathing heavily, so Scyrone did as best as he could not to wake him. IC: Waking up, he remembered Darth Scyrone's words about going back out to the place where they met. He sat for a moment, waking himself up, enhancing it with the Force. Not wanting to keep the Ithorian waiting, he got up and stretched briefly then walked out to where Darth Scyrone was, thinking again about today, the events that would be taking place, and his lightsaber.
Walking up to him, he said "Good morning, Master."
Prophet Scyrone
OOC: Good on the corrections, only one mistake though. "Apprentice" should be capitalised because it was referring to you, as a person, thus making "Apprentice" like a name to you which should be capitalized.
As you can see I didnt post for awhile, and I didnt for a reason. People think that if you are in a duel and you dont post within a day or two you are going to totally lose against them and they think that you forgot about it. That is wrong to the max. I purposely waited, because there is nothing wrong with waiting a week or two to post in a battle. Sometimes in a duel I will wait two weeks and then type it up, just to test the members patience. But that is the max you should wait, two weeks maximum. SO dont be afraid to wait, it will also give you more ideas and you will be able to sleep on decisions you made and mistakes you want to correct.
IC:
"Good morning Mainred." replied the Ithorian, "We have got alot of work to do today. We will be searching old caves and temples for lightsaber crystals, and hopefully find a crystal you would like."
Scyrone stood up and handed a plate to Mainred filled with food that humans would like, while the Ithorian ate some food of his own. They sat by the warm heater for comfort and ate enjoyably. The sound of a blizzard could be heard outside. And you could see the wind fight violently with the snow.
"The caves are dangerous. There are remains of old droids from the Clone Wars, there are haunting spirits of Jedi Ghosts, and there are dark and dangerous beasts that roam the cavern. You will see what I am talking about when we enter there."
OOC: From now on, you will be in control of the story line. One thing I want to see from you, Mainred, is independence. I dont want you to just answer to my posts and let me control the story line, I want you to control alot more of the storyline. I want you to be independent and not be my puppet. SO from now on in the story you will be controlling the plot and post what you think should be done. Dont worry about what I had in mind, dont worry about mistakes or controlling me a bit, just go with what you think you want to do and do it.
Darth Mainerd
OOC: Okay, I must've confused that with some other English rule, lol. And I'll keep that tip in mind.
IC:
"The caves are dangerous. There are remains of old droids from the Clone Wars, there are haunting spirits of Jedi Ghosts, and there are dark and dangerous beasts that roam the cavern. You will see what I am talking about when we enter there."
Mainerd nodded, not wanted to be rude with his mouth full. Swallowing the food he said, "Will you be with me or am I going on this assignment alone?"
The whole mission seemed dangerous, yet a good challenge at the same time. Droids wouldn't propose too much of a problem. Thinking back to his knowledge of the Clone Wars, the battle droids were not all that advanced. Deadly as they were, they should propose little threat with his gun skills and since the droids would surely be rusted and worn down.
The ghosts of Jedi Knights he wasn't sure about. His mental skills were fairly tough, but he wasn't sure if they'd hold out all too well against the spirit of a Jedi. The beasts shouldn't be much of a problem either. All he had to do was keep his distance and he should be okay.
Prophet Scyrone
OOC: Again, dont be afraid to control the story line. I wanted you to go onward with the story line. In this training I want you to control the rest of your training. I might ask something of you every once in awhile, but I want you to take control. In other words, lead your training.
Another thing, when in a duel, there isn't only one way of winning. If you are fighting in a cool place, be creative. Whether you or your opponent die, be creative. Rip his heart out, drown him or her, knock em out and feed them to Rancors, etc. Be creative, it makes the duel more interesting. Fall into worse situations and creativly get out of it. Fall of a cliff, faking your death, then your opponents guard is let down and you surprisingly attack him. But only do it about once per dual.
Now, I want you to carry on, continueing with the training, and go more into the training. Go somewhere else rather than the cave.
Darth Mainerd
OOC: I know. I asked you a question. I can't really continue a storyline without getting an answer from someone.
Prophet Scyrone
OOC: I wanted you to answer for me, dont be afraid to control the storyline. If something in needed to be answered then answer it, after all it is YOUR training, this thread is meant for YOU. If you ask a question YOU ARE ALLOWED to control an answer by me. THe only things you cant do with me is make big movements (unless I or the opponent you are facing says so), you cant kill me early off, you cant be unrealistic with the character, and you cant disable me, unless you think it is appropriate to win the duel at that time.
Darth Mainerd
OOC: I see. Okay, thanks for explaining that a bit more.
IC: "No. This mission is for you, not me. I will be in contact with you via the Force, giving you directions etc. If I see you are in danger, I will come and help you, but this is a test for you to see how well you will do in situations. You will leave immediately."
Standing up from his finished food, the Ithorian handed Mainerd his two weapons. Mainerd took them with a bow and slung the rifle over his back and holstered his pistol.
"Yes, master."
"When you leave this place, you will be in danger of the cold again. The robe you are wearing is a specially designed to help keep you warm. It will not protect all of you, but you will be better once you get inside the cave systems where you will be searching for your crystal. Since most of the crystals on Ilum are blue and green, I have placed several other colors of crystals in the caves."
Mainerd listened intently to the things that his master was saying. The instructions were finished and Darth Scyrone led him outside. Feeling the cold bite at him even with the thermal cloak on, he wondered how this was going to turn out. He used the Force to try and keep himself warm.
His master must've picked up on his thoughts because he said, "Of course, you will not be walking to the cave. I've arranged this speeder bike here for you to fly over to the cave. You must use your instincts and the Force to guide you to the correct cave. It's ready whenever you are."
"I'm ready, Master. Good-bye."
"Good-bye, and may the Force be with you."
"And with you as well."
With a bow, Mainerd mounted the speeder bike and activated the accelerators, kicking it into full gear as it speed quickly across the snow. The cold bit hard at his face from the wind and temperature. The hood from the cloak had been pushed back from his head with his velocity and he telekinetically pulled it completely over his face, using the Force to guide him.
Eventually, a tug compelled him to swerve it to the left. This he did, and he stopped, pulling the hood back slightly to use his human vision. A large cave stood before him and the Force told him that it was indeed where he was supposed to go.
It is a voice inside his head sounded. Good job. Mainerd tried to send the signal back, but was unable to. The Ithorian was too far away to reach, but he knew that his master could read his mind.
With his rifle in his hand, he walked into the cave, a small surge of confidence mixed with doubt and a small amout of fear spreading through him. He stopped after a few meters to look around. Then, stretching out with the Force, he began his trek.
OOC: I don't know if I'm supposed to keep going with this, so I hope it's okay to stop here in case you have anything to say. Also, should I just make the whole mission one post or should I stop periodically so you can say something and insert your input?
Prophet Scyrone
OOC: It is up to you, you are in control. I want you to develop independence so next time you RP you wont be goin:
"What do we do now?" and "What should I do?"
I want you to be free of those comments. If it is hard to understand what is going on and if it is hard to know what is happening, feel free to ask those questions. But if it is simple and easy to undertsnad then I dont see a point in not controlling a part of the storyline.
Another thing, usually at the start of a duel while in 'OOC', you should state all the rules, the limit of weapons and force powers used (if any), and the place you are dueling at.
I will post soon, but I must go now for a second.
Darth Mainerd
The cave was dark, but his glow-rod helped light the way. So far everything seemed okay. Mainerd stopped, kneeling down and feeling with the Force to find the nearest red crystal. After a minute or so, he got a glimpse of one. It was hard for him to concentrate, but he was able to get a location for it. A clank was heard, snapping him from his trance, up and ready with his pistol out. A flash of red streaked past his face as a horrid looking, rusted silver droid emerged from a shadow, firing from what looked like his wrist. The upper torso was large, and appeared headless.
A Super Battle Droid, he thought. Firing a shot off into the distance, it glanced off the cave's wall. A few more shots were exchanged before Mainerd landed a laser on the droids hull, sending it to the floor.
"They'll definately hear that," he murmered. Continuing down the passage, alert with his senses, he heard another noise, a deep throaty noise.
"Not good," he thought. Taking out his rifle, he continued down the passage at a faster speed. An eruption of laser fire took place from somewhere in front of him. Peering with the Force ahead, he saw a group of battle droids fighting off some kind of monster. The lasers only glanced off of it and Mainerd had a very bad feeling.
The droids were crushed by the thing, and it was in his way. There was only one way to get to that crystal, and that was past the creature. Another noise came behind him, mechanical. Another group of battle droids was approaching. He felt sick with a nagging fear.
Turning to face the droids, he fired with his rifle, taking some of them down, but not many with their returning laser fire. Taking cover behind a stone, he fired over his shoulder, letting the Force guide his shots.
The creature heard the laser fire and was running on all fours after them. Jumping in between the droids and the creature, he fired a few rounds, then backflipped over the monster, running away from the new battle that had taken place between the droids and the alien creature.
Sprinting at full speed, using the Force to help propel him, he sensed the crystal getting nearer, but it was at a much higher level. A chasm stood between him and the other side, where he could climb up to the top part of the cave, where he sensed his objective. Looking down, there was a good drop to the lower level of the cave. If he miscalculated his jump or simply fell, it wouldn't be too far down.
Then, he heard the ceasing of the laser fire and the pounding of feet on the icy cave floor.
"Crap," he thought. Backing up a few paces, he took a large stride and used the Force to propel him to the other side. He felt a large object him him in the back and two massive paws came around him. His jump was not succeeded and he was falling.
He angled himself more so that he was facing where he'd jumped from and the creature was to the wall, and used the Force to push, so that the creature hit the wall, hopefully letting him go. This did not happen, but it did wimper slightly in pain. Sensing the floor come closer, he quickly angled again so that the creature was on the bottom.
It slammed into the ground, releasing its massive grip of Mainerd. He quickly got up, Force jumping away and towards a stone-cut set of stairs that would hopefully take him up to where he wanted to go. The creature was undeterred. Rising up and furious, it let out a cry that made Mainerd sink to his knees. The footsteps were quick and loud, and Mainerd was running for his life up the stairs.
At the top, on the place where he'd jumped from, were a pair of Supers. Firing his pistol as he ran up, he nailed one of them. He used the Force to throw the second back, hoping to slow the monster down. It didn't. He got to the top and made a quick uncalculated jump to the other side. Fortunately this time he made it and was sprinting again, not bothering to wonder if the alien could make the jump.
To his mild surprise, he felt a surge in the Force. The creature did not make it. Slowing his pace to a standing position, he rested his hands on his knees and breathed deeply. He began to climb the stairs, but about half-way up, the stairs stopped. He couldn't jump it, so the only other option he had left was to climb.
With little gear, it took several minutes to get to the top. Once he lost his grip, but was able to regain it. Almost to the top, he heard another noise. Pulling his pistol out quickly, he fired a shot into the darkness, hitting his target: some small bat-like thing that had been climbing the wall after him. It must've angered the rest of them, because they began to flock around him. Firing wildly to defend himself, he nailed a few of them, dropping them to the floor below.
A sharp object pierced the hand holding on, forcing him to release his grip. He cried out with the Force to his Master, hoping that he would be able to make it in time to help him.
He hit the ground with a thud. It wasn't as bad as it would've been if he hadn't used the Force to slow his descent, but it still hurt. Both blasters out and firing, he could only hope that his Master could save him in time.
Prophet Scyrone
Suddenly, from the more outer parts of the cave, came a rumbling noise. The stones on the floor started to shake, pattering against the icy ground. Then a few seconds later, a huge wail could be heard all around the sky. Flinging the black creatures in wild directions and knocking alot of them out. THe remaining bats flew away deeper into the cave. The noise suddenly left the cave, and echoed down the rest of the inner path.
Next time, use the force to guide your thoughts, dont give into fear, dont let fear control your thoughts, let fear be nothing but a past to you.
With that Mainred went on.
OOC: You can wrap up the mission now if you want. Honestly from your last post I think you are ready to become an Acolyte or a Warrior.[/i]
Darth Mainerd
OOC: Thank you, and I'll finish this.
IC: Mainerd looked up, seeing the bats flee. His face bloody with the claws and beaks of the creatures, he stood up, a strange sensation ringing in his head, his master's voice.
Yes, master, I apologize.
With that, he began to climb again, reaching the top eventually. Kneeling down, he began to meditate for a bit, calming his mind and body so he could move on.
Doing just that, he found the entrance to another smaller passage that his senses told him the crystal was in. Walking towards it, he saw it and picked it up, examining it for a moment, when a sharp nag came from him.
It was not his master, this call was more fierce, more deadly, but without the essense of a Sith Lord. It was the spector of a Jedi Knight.
With the Force, he tried to establish a barrier to keep it out, but it persisted. He had to hurry. Running to the edge, he dropped off, using the Force to slow his descent. He then jumped down into the chasm instead of jumping over it, knowing that he couldn't make it. Using a tool, he clung to the wall so he didn't go down really fast. Then, he made his way up the stairs and down the passageway.
He didn't sense any droids. They must've fallen back with that giant monster. The nagging sensation became stronger than ever. He saw the exit, but he sank to his knees, almost willingly. With a verbal scream to psychologically help rid the spector, he rose and with all his mental strength tried to repel the deceased Knight from his brain.
He ran out of the cave and mounted his bike, pulling his hood up over his face. As he set off, the mental pain the Jedi had caused diminished, and eventually deceased as he set off back towards the cave that he started out in.
In the distance, he saw the Immolator on the landing pad and flew the bike up in front of it, dismounting, and walking towards his master, who was waiting for him inside the cave.
As he approached the Ithorian, he held out the crystal, showing him. "It is here, my Master. And thank you for your help back in the cave. I would not have survived without it."
