Open Duel

((Where: Dojo
What: Lightsabers only, set to stun
Why: I need practise with double blades
Who: Anyone))
High Prophet Crozeus

((Sorry to double post but hello?))
Supreme Commander Alor

[[I will take you up, if you wish to learn.]]
High Prophet Crozeus

((Gladly, thank you.))

Crozeus stood in the dojo, fresh from his mission from Tatooine, exhilierated with the prospect of promotion. He gave his double blades an experimental twirl and adjusted their length. He felt a ripple in the Force, but more powerful than most, and knew that someone very strong was coming his way.
Supreme Commander Alor

Supreme Commander Marix flew his personalized and highly upgraded and modified fighter through Kuat's airspace heading towards the small training dojo. There he had a duel with an apprentice, the apprentice of Darth Celestial, in fact. It had been a while since he had dueled an apprentice, and he wondered how well the new Sith would do.
Crozeus, being his name, had asked through his master for a duel partner. Darth Celestial, being in the Military, had been talking about it in the Military Head-Quarters, and Supreme Commander Marix took the request.

As his fighter landed in the small area at the north end of the dojo, he popped the canopy and used the Force to levitate himself out of the pilot's chair; which was slightly more comfortable than normal for the longer flights, and onto the tarmac.

Standing there, he took out one of his secondary sabers, just to be ready for a quick attack. With the saber ignited, he walked into the dojo, his long black cloak swirling in the breeze around him, creating a wraith-like appearance that had scared many civilians in its time.

As he passed through the doorway, his senses only increased in their awareness. Ambush was a hard thing to overcome when one was truly surprised and inexperienced, so the easiest way to avoid that situation was to be ready for anything and be aware of everything. He waved the saber around in the air, only a few seconds behind his eyes gaze. He came to the dojo floor, where the actual fighting would take place, and stood deep in the shadows, his eyes darting to and fro scanning for possible danger. For a few seconds his eyes focused on the lone apprentice in the arena, then darted around, then went back to Crozeus.

“Ready to learn?”
He dark voice rumbled in the hollow and acoustic dojo.
High Prophet Crozeus

Crozeus turned, saber activated to face the impressive figure - the most important man in the Imperial Military. Scarred but youthful, Crozeus watched as the Supreme Commander's eyes darted around, clearly looking for potential threats.

Crozeus waited a moment for him to finish his sweep of the room, and then he pulled off his robe and flung it into the corner of the room. He saluted corteusly and allowed drak energy to fill his mind. He knew he wouldn't stand much of a chance, but it was just for practise.

"Remember, no Force powers." Crozeus took up Shii-Cho and waited, his own eyes darting from Marix's blade, to eyes, nither making contact, yet.
Supreme Commander Alor

Supreme Commander Marix loosed his own cloak around him, letting it fall from his shoulders, and hover to a clean patch on the ground. He turned off his secondary saber, and put it away. As Crozeus' eyes widened at the sight of the Supreme Commander putting away a saber, Darth Marix pulled out his main saber, a staff saber to some, doubled sided to others.

Igniting it on one end to start with, he took slight bow and then a defensive pose. Ready for anything the apprentice would throw at him.
High Prophet Crozeus

Inwardly, Crozeus groaned. His own defesnive tactic wouldn't work if Marix countered it with his own defense. Crozeus, still in Shii-Cho, came forward slowly, circling his foe.

For that was all the Supreme Commander of the Imperial Armed Forces, member of the council and many other roles was to him. A foe, just like any other.

Those intelligent eyes studied every move Crozeus made, boring into him, but he shrugged it off, keeping his slow cirlcing, and when he though he saw an opening, zoned into Juyo and leapt forwards, slashing the staff aside with his short lightsaber and whipping it down diagonally towards Marix's shin.
Supreme Commander Alor

Supreme Commander Marix's counter defense had the desired effect, drawing the newly knighted Crozeus into attacking.

As Crozeus' blade drew nearer to Darth Marix's shin, he toggled the switch for the other blade of his saber, which sprang to life and neatly blocked Crozeus' saber inches from Darth Marix's pant legs.
Flipping his saber upward, he flipped Crozeus' blade away and out of the immediate area that would make it useful. The move caused Crozeus to become unbalanced and the Supreme Commander used that moment to attack furiously, starting with a vicious slice at neck height with the silver blade, the first one ignited.
High Prophet Crozeus

Crozeus reacted purely with the Force, leaning backwards in an inhuman position, balanced on one leg, head almost horizontal, causing Marix's blade to swish in front of his eyes, it's swing almost musical. Simultaneously, he planted his foot into Marix's chest and pushed him away, giving Crozeus time to gatehr himself.

The two Sith looked at each other, and this time Crozeus had a plan. He threw his short lightsaber at Marix, which he casually swatted aside, but it gave Crozeus time to activate his double bladed lightsaber, removing Marix's two bladed advantage. Crozeus charged at Marix, the ferocity of his attack taking the Supreme Commander by surprise, but he still parried easily.

Now 4 blades made blurs around the two Sith, the two double blades cutting into each other, the man and boy grunting with exertion as they both tried to find a way past the other's defences.
Supreme Commander Alor

[[No Force Powers, remember...  Cool ]]
High Prophet Crozeus

((It's not a Force Power for it is not directed against you. In the sense that you mean we both are using Force Powers to control our blades.  Cool  Cool ))
Supreme Commander Alor

[[You are not using the Force to guide your blade, but you are levitating it, which I thought was out of the question.]]
High Prophet Crozeus

((Very well, -edited-))

As Darth Marix's blades made silver and crimson arcs of light around him, only to come crashing into the younger Sith's blades, easily deflecting them away and slowing draining the Minion's strength and stamina, he let his brain wander down the path of ingenious planning.

As Darth Crozeus attacked again, Darth jumped backward, making Crozeus stumble off balance. Marix then leaped in to attack once again, more ferocious than before, unrelenting in his cuts, slashes, and strikes and jabs.

As his silver blade retracted after an attack, the crimson blade jabbed inward, heading right for Crozeus' heart...
High Prophet Crozeus

Crozeus had only a split second to think. He swung his right arm back towards his chest, scarring it along Marix's blade, although not enough to cause any significant damage. He then activated his third lightsaber, allowing it to glance off the threatening blade. It still cut his chest, but only lightly. Mercifully, the two sith stepped back from each other. Crozeus took the pain form his stinging wounds and allowed them to fuel his strength, blocking out anything other than the fight.

Crozeus and Marix circled each other, still in eye contact. Crozeus wiped swaet from his brow and studied the Supreme Commander, still looking fresh and his uniform crisp. He knew he stood no chance, but he would at least do something. He had an apperntice of his own now. He was no mere adept, despiter his tender age. Switching forms to Makashi, he swung in, catching blades with Marix, who forced his single balde aside and swept at his mid section. Crozeus leaped a godd one and a half metres into the air and swung down. Marix sidestepped, but not before a small gash had appeared on his arm.

Crozeus came down into a shoulder roll and came up, facing his opponent once again in the more balanced form of Niman.
Supreme Commander Alor

Supreme Commander Marix let Crozeus gloat in his small gash, and struck out quickly at the confident apprentice. His silver blade went for Crozeus' neck. As he struck out, he twisted his saber at its middle, and detached the crimson blade, lifting it up he held it near Crozeus' stomach, close enough so he could feel its heat and his garments sizzled.
"Let me ask you something, Crozeus. Do you feel lucky?"
High Prophet Crozeus

Crozeus dived aside from the slashing silver blade, simultaneously bringing his saber up to defend against the detached blade. He conutered and the series began again, attack - riposte, attack - riposte, and Crozeus considered Marix's words.

"Lucky? Luck is a figment of pointless opitimism. There is no luck. Only the Force."

Crozeus suddenly stepped back, and Marix's swing sailed past where his head would have been a second ago. He lashed out, lightning quick, and scored a hit on the Supreme Commander's arm, enough to make him hiss out in pain.

Crozeus grinned. "Everything is planned, whether consiously or subconsiously."

He brang his saber back up and they circled each other once again.
Supreme Commander Alor

"Ah, but consider those without the power to connect to the Force, as we are supposed to limit ourselves to now. They call the powers they do not understand luck. They may be similar, but prove they are the same or non-coexistent."

Here, while Crozeus was drawn in by his words, Marix did a back flip, enough to throw Crozeus off balance, both physically and mentally, and then quickly darted forward, one saber pointed for the younger Sith's neck, the other held in a blocking pattern to protect the Supreme Commander, but also to be ready to spring a counter-attack upon Crozeus when the time arose.

The silver blade came closer and closer to Crozeus' neck as the Church Hopeful tried to regain his rhythm and balance.
High Prophet Crozeus

Crozeus simply threw himself to the floor, pushing himself forwards as the silver blade swooped over where he once stood. Crozeus scissor kicked Marix's legs out from under him, before rolling aside and standing up again, leaving Marix on one knee. He immedietly brought his saber crashing down onto Marix's head, only just parried. There the boy stood, and the Supreme Commander knelt, struggling against each other with brute strength as they weren't allowed the use of Force powers.

"Kneeling before me already, Supreme Commander?" Crozeus grinned. "Lucky for me, I thought it would last longer." He put extra emphasis on the word luck, chuckling slightly, still keeping an enourmous amount of pressure on Marix's blade. He ignited his double saber once again and swung towards Marix's exposed midsection, still chuckling.
Supreme Commander Alor

[[When you say "Double Saber" are you refering to a staff saber or just your second blade in another hand?
Also, one is supposed to give their opponent a chance to respond to the attack. Notice how I haven't said something like, I kicked him in the knee and then... or punched him on the chin and then... or swept his legs out and then...

I give you a chance to have a semblance of a response to my attack, not piling it on you, making it hard to counter... Just keep that in mind...]]
High Prophet Crozeus

((A Darth Maul style saber. Sorry, but I figured since you will win the duel, I would make it so my character put up more of a fight then he would do otherwise.))
Supreme Commander Alor

Supreme Commander Marix quickly placed his second saber to block Crozeus' falling blade. As soon as contact was reached on both blades, Marix began to use all of his strength to force Crozeus up and back, and then abruptly shoved hard, knocking Crozeus, once more off of his feet.

Marix had been testing Crozeus' ability to think and react in/to a situation involving immediate and fatal consequences, depending upon his choice. He had taken the rash and quick route of trying to overpower Marix and regain face, at least in his own mind. That decision was something he needed to not make and begin to choose a tactical method of countering Marix's attack.

Marix held his sabers, one in each hand, his left saber was tilted inward, lining past his right shoulder, while his right saber he had pointed to his left at about hip height and tipped up. Standing like that, he paced around the dojo, creating a circle around Crozeus that would get smaller and smaller with each completion.
High Prophet Crozeus

Crozeus fought back a curse as he saw Marix's strategy. He watched as the Supreme Commander moved around him, spinning his sabers. Crozeus thought carefully, and then extended his perceptions to the world around him. He couldn't use a Force power against Marix but he could still use the Force.

Crozeus seemed to slow the world down around him, and even though he wasn't, to Crozeus' eye Marix was moving very slowly. Crozeus simply outstepped the ring, predicting where Marix would be so they wouldn't collide in the small area. He returned his vision back to normal time and extended his saber as Marix came towards him, ready to engage.
Supreme Commander Alor

[[I am not using the Force to speed myself up in anyway. The terms were "No Force Powers", not just meaning using them on your opponent, but yourself as well.

And I was pretty far out from you, intending to just keep circling, slowly getting closer and closer, not just running in to attack.]]
High Prophet Crozeus

((Forgive me, I mis-interpreted your action. Edited.))
Supreme Commander Alor

[[I still think that No Force means no Force... Not even to enhance your vision...]]

Supreme Commander Marix jumped up as he neared the now shifted Crozeus. Flipping in the air, he sliced with his saber, drawing one end of Crozeus' blade. But the disadvantage to staff sabers is that when you know where one blade is, you know where the other is. Marix swung his other saber as he landed, forcing Crozeus to awkwardly block it, only further serving Marix's plan. Marix de-ignited his left blade, causing Crozeus to stumble. At that moment, Marix threw his other saber, which pointed right at Crozeus' chest area. Marix stopped the saber with the Force, saving the younger Sith's life.

"I hope you learned something." Was all Marix said.
High Prophet Crozeus

Crozeus breathed heavily, the adreneline still pulsing in his veins as he realised how easily he could have died. He backed away and saluted.

"I always learn."

He collected his things and left for another chamber in the dojo.

((Good fight))
Supreme Commander Alor

[[Yes. It was. Haven't done a duel without the Force in a long time...]]
