[from the Tales of the Jedi comics, Knights of the Old Republic and The Freedon Nadd Uprising, and the Tales of the Jedi Companion.]
Centuries after the Ancient Sith Empire was destroyed, Freedon Nadd, an exceptional padawan of unrivaled power reached the end of his training, but was denied knighthood by the Jedi Council. When he sought the counsel of Jedi Master Matta Tremayne, she refused to tell him why they denied him, saying only that he must find some things in himself. In a rage, Nadd killed the Master and fled to an ancient world deep in the Sith Empire, Ashas Ree [TOTJC]. Some time after that he found his way to Yavin IV. There he found the Massassi settlement, and they took him to the static Naga Sadow, who awakened and took Nadd as his apprentice [DSS].
After many years of tutelage, Nadd attempted to leave Yavin IV in search of his own world to rule. When Sadow tried to stop Nadd, he killed a second master and left, rather than becoming the new ruler of the primitive Massassi. He traveled to Onderon, where the natives lived in a single city, Iziz, for protection from the dangerous predators that migrated from the nearby moon of Dxun. Nadd quickly conquered Iziz and either began, or substantially increased, the practice of casting out criminals into the wilderness to be killed by predators. He took a Force-sensitive Onderonian as a wife, and teaches his descendants the Sith tradition, at first while he lives and then after his death, as a spirit [TOTJC].
A generation after the death of Freedon Nadd, the Beast Wars of Onderon began. Enough criminals exiled from Iziz had managed to survive in the Onderonian wilderness long enough to develop their own society, centered around taming the predator beasts from Dxun. Once enough of the flying predators had been captured, tamed and trained, the Beastriders launched an attack on Iziz. The attack was repelled, but the Beastriders survived to continue their attacks and raids of the city, which developed into an ongoing war between the two societies [TOTJ].
Centuries later, King Ommin asended to the throne of Iziz, taking Queen Amanoa as his wife. When she found out that Ommin’s heritage included Sith apprenticeship to the spirit of his ancestor, Freedon Nadd, she agreed to join him in the hope she could someday redeem him. Soon after, she embraced the Dark Side and became a great sorceress in her own right. Once both Ommin and Amanoa ascended to become a Sith Lord and Lady, King Ommin then took his Minister of State, Novar, as his Sith apprentice [TOTJC, DSS].
During the reign of Ommin, Republic explorers discovered Onderon and began negotiations with the people of Iziz while smugglers discovered the Beastriders and began selling them arms. Shortly after Onderon’s introduction to the Galactic Republic, King Ommin’s health began to fail, such that he required machinery to keep him alive. Queen Amanoa then stepped in as ruler of Iziz and master to Novar [TOTJC].
While communing regularly with the spirit of Freedon Nadd, he warned Queen Amanoa of the danger from the arms being amassed by the Beastriders. He told her that if the war did not end soon, it would destroy her. His actual reason for the warning was because he wished to bring outsiders to Onderon, as he had lost faith in his descendents as worthy heirs. After Ommin became an invalid, Amanoa seemed to lose all ambition and her tutelage of Novar became lackluster, while the crown princess Galia had not been introduced to the Sith arts at all [TOTJC].
As Nadd planned, Amanoa contacted the Republic for assistance in the Beast Wars, who dispatched Jedi to Onderon. Among the Jedi assigned to bring peace to Onderon was Ulic Qel-Droma, who Nadd recognized as a potential heir. The Jedi were manipulated by Queen Amanoa until they confronted the newly wed Princess Galia and Oron Kira, heir to the Beastrider crown. The young lovers revealed Amanoa’s Dark Side allegiance, and the Jedi joined a Beastrider attack on Iziz. Amanoa nearly defeated the newly knighted Jedi, but their master, Arca Jath, arrived in time to turn the battle against her {TOTJ, TOTJC].
Following their victory over Amanoa and Freedon Nadd, the Jedi continued to encounter both political resistance and Dark Side energies while in Iziz. Jedi Master Arca Jath decided to break the hold of Freedon Nadd over the city by attempting to transport the sarcophagi of Amanoa and Nadd to the moon Dxun. However, the transport was interrupted and the remains captured by Warb Null, a Dark Warrior wearing plate armor. Investigating this warrior, the Jedi met with King Ommin, to discover that with a metal armature, he was not only capable of movement, but possessed enough power to kidnap Jedi Master Arca Jath [FNU].
Simultaneously, the royal heirs of the Empress Teta system, Satal and Aleema Keto, were vacationing on Coruscant while attempting to discover knowledge about Dark Side sorcery. News of the conflict on Onderon reached Coruscant and the Ketos traveled there while the Republic was mounting an invasion. While on Onderon, Satal Keto exchanged access to a Sith tome for knowledge possessed by Ommin. When the Jedi attacked to recapture Master Jath, Freedon Nadd appeared before Satal and Aleema to declare them his new heirs. He gave the Ketos weapons and artifacts, and guided them away from the attacking Jedi, while Warb Null, Ommin and Novar were destroyed [TOTJ].
Apparently unrelated at some time during the reign of Freedon Nadd's dynasty, the Jedi Knight Vara Nreem, not believing the Jedi teachings about the separation between the Light and Dark Sides of the Force, journeyed to Krayiss II, a world once powerful in the Sith Empire. While her perception of the artificiality of the division has merit, it blinded her to the power of the Dark Side, so that she was overwhelmed and her essence devoured by Dark Side spirits [TOTJC].
Empress Darth Chick
okay, I really didn't have time to read the whole thing, but I think that Star Wars should be called Sith Wars instead. it all revolves around Sith anyways.
Empress Darth Chick
now I've read it, and it was AWESOME!
but what does this mean?

Lord Scourge
That will make more sense once I complete the history of the Ancient Sith Empire and how it ended - Naga Sadow took his Sith Massassi crew to Yavin IV, had them build a temple to him, and then put himself into a stasis trance in the temple. When Freedon Nadd showed up, he brought himself out of the trance and took Nadd as his apprentice.
