This is a thread for random rants about things you find illogical, messed up, and so on, and the discussion of those rants. Its for both things in this site, and topics completely unrelated. My rant is, public sensitivity. In my school we aren't allowed to display nude paintings for they think its obscene. In my eyes its art, nothing more, nothing less.

It depends on the venue. I understand some people not wanting to see nudity. If it's in an alcove, fine, people don't have to enter it; but if it's in a hallway, people may not be so understanding.

Thats understandable, but the thing is, it doesn't even have to be showing the "naughty bits" if everything is covered up, but they are still obviously nude, its still not allowed. Nor is our teacher allowed to let us enter any nude pieces in local art shows, that are non-school related, for they are entered through the school.

I don't think my opinion even matters here anymore. It's actually very annoying and I'm kinda getting tired of it.

I'm still quite angry that I've only recently been promoted to Sith Marauder. Afterall, I was supposed to receive that rank over year and a half ago, but hey, I guess it's easy to overlook something like promoting someone.

I honestly want to stay with TDSL. I feel a link between myself and this site and the bonds I've made with a few people, but each day I feel pushed farther and farther away from it. I'm at a fork in the road as of right now.

#1. When you keep voicing minute opinions, and appear to be looking for a fight. People listen to you less and less.

#2. You weren't even active during that year. So its not a real problem.

#3. Like I said, I would love to stay. TDSL is a great site, that's a fact, but I'm just getting annoyed and ignored by everyone.

#1. That doesn't change the fact that you started something. And after a while, apologies start to mean nothing if you keep doing the same thing again and again. I was in the same spot a few years ago, always fighting with people. I stopped. Now look at me, Dark Lord and Admin.

#2. Promotions aren't supposed to entice you to be active. They're supposed to reward active users. And the Council in question was put on hold for a while to, so we weren't promoting anyone. It only just started up again.

#3. You're getting annoyed why? Because people are ignoring you. You're being ignored, why? Because people find your constant attitude of picking a fight annoying. Stop picking the fights, and people will stop ignoring you. Then you won't be annoyed.
People can't change how they perceive if you don't change how you are perceived.

#1. I've only started 3, maybe 4, arguments my entire time here. Those happened over a month ago, I believe. Even before those arguments happened, I was ignored and such.

#2. Even so, you put me up for promotion, posted it, and yet I was never given the rank. I was one of the most active users since I first started here. I joined several RPs and started my own duels within my first week. I was going to be knighted within three days after joining the site. After that, I was about as active as you and Aequitas are now.

#3. I'm getting annoyed because there seems to be a great bias here. I am not the greatest RPer, that is a proven fact, but my opinion should be valued nonetheless. I would understand if I picked a fight over my entire time here, but I didn't. I picked fights because I felt the point being as wrong. See #2 for the rest.

#1. Please don't lie. You may not think them as a fight, but you are constantly bickering over something, big or small. If you just try to get along, especially your attitude with Fien (it may be friendly, but it annoys people to see it over and over again), you'll have more fun here.

#2. At the time, only one person had the ability to change ranks, and he happened to be embroiled in a battle over his book at the time, I believe. And was also dealing with other real life issues.
Your activity was good. Keep it up.

#3. When is your opinion ignored? How many times has it happened? And how many times have you posted it in a thread that you shouldn't have?
You felt the point was wrong. Well if you felt it was right, you wouldn't pick a fight. I felt the same way, but it got me no where. Both parties believe they are right. No one goes into an argument not believing their own side of things.

#1. Even when I do try to be friendly to others, I am still ignored. I even mentioned it twice in the GD shortly after Ducki arrived and it was ignored both times.

#2. I seem to be struggling greatly with activity here. I do fine on Rebels though. Maybe I'm just not in a Sith-like mood.

#3. Well, not just my opinions, but just about I everything I do is ignored. I have no idea how many times it's happened, but it just stresses me out to see all my hard work go to waste here. I try to be friendly and it gets thrown back in my face by either no one responding to it or someone starts talking about something else. That's just how I feel.

#1 & #3 We don't always see every post that is made. Sometimes, people are busy replying to a thread when you post. So they never even see your post. Or they are busy with other things and then post something right off the bat.

Or they sit on a thread, and then hit "Reply" thus never seeing any posts made between their first visit to the thread and their reply.

Its just something we have to deal with. My posts in the GD aren't always seen or replied to. My posts elsewhere are, because they are usually important. But in the GD, I'm not always "heard" but I understand why. And it doesn't really matter to me. Yes, the GD is a nice social place, but its not the only place you can go to socialize or just talk. IM's, Facebook, Myspace... Social Networks. TDSL is a great site, but we're not a Facebook.

#2. That is too bad. Maybe things will pick up once a few changes have been made. You can always try my site though, which is now back up and running (crossed fingers).
