RetirementGuys, I've decided to officially retire from RPing with the exception of my very first site. I am going to put aside my characters and become a diplomat for my very first site. It would help if you knew the site so here is the link and some info:
http://kotorwars.com/
Formerly known as Star Wars United, SWU was founded in the days following the closing of the Lucasarts role playing forum in 2005. Star Wars United itself is actually a spinoff of the highly popular SW:KOTOR RP forum and was one of a handful of web sites responsible for sparking the KOTOR role playing revolution which hit in late 2004. The events of SWU take place 4,000 years before the rise of the Galactic Empire and roughly 30 years after the events of Knights of the Old Republic II.
Star Was United has been through at least three deaths and resurrections. After seeing its 'golden age' between October 2005 to May 2006, SWU died as the 2006 summer hit. While many tried to keep the forums running, veteren members were halted in their progress of keeping the forum going. Through many dead war RP's as a result of several key members being caught up in real life or moving onto other sites, Hawken, the forum admin and owner, put the site on unofficial hiatus until late November 2006.
Creating a new site with new servers, Star Wars United was resurrected for the sake of role-playing. While no new KOTOR was announced, Hawken felt the site could flourish like it had did one year prior. Many old members returned via e-mails and helped set the new forum up. Within weeks, the factions were united and on the brink of war. Prolonged RP's and no replies for weeks eventually stalled the progress. However, Hawken would not give up and the members banded together to bring the RP's back. The site hit its second best activeness (if that is even a word) since the 'golden age.'
However, the site died around spring time and it was again put on unofficial hiatus. Hawken realized the pattern and was quick to threaten to close the site. After several seemingly serious attempts at getting members back and threats to shut the site down, Hawken kept it up through the summer of 2007 and early fall.
In late November of 2007, Hawken announced the new forum KOTOR Wars. Like his other storylines, this based after the KOTOR games. This time, the plot was started at one year after KOTOR II. Here is the storyline:
One year has passed since the battle of Telos and life has begun to return to normal for citizens of the Republic. The Republic task force sent to Malachor 5 to investigate the Trayus academy has found no trace of the Sith Lords nor the crew of the legendary Ebon Hawk. Many within the Republic have suggested that the Sith were eradicated by a force plague of some kind which may have also claimed the lives of the famed Jedi vessel's crew. No bodies or wreakage were found which leads others to believe that the Ebon Hawk's crew and ultimately the Sith themselves are still out there somewhere. Meanwhile on Coruscant, a new Jedi Council is being formed to begin the restoration of the Jedi Order. The senate has asked the new Jedi Grand Master to form a task force and investigate the Mandalorian training grounds on Dxun. With the rising tensions between the nearby world of Onderon and the Mandalorians on Dxun, the senate hopes the Jedi Order can mediate a lasting peace between the two factions before open conflict erupts. The Galactic Senate is also concerned with rumors of a weapons and ship build up in the Outer Rim. Intel suggests that the Exchange and/or the Hutts are responsible and that the illegal supplies and weapons are being shipped between Nar Shadaa, Tatooine and other locations in the outer rim. It would seem that the return of the Jedi Knights to the forefront of Galactic life couldnt have come at a better time. Despite all the hardships caused by the Jedi Order during their civil war, the vast majority of people in the galaxy applaud the Jedi Order's return and just like the thousands of generations who came before, this genration looks to the Jedi Knights to take up the mantle of destiny and champion the ideals of peace and justice throughout the Republic....
So, that is SWU, now KOTOR Wars, and this is the reason for my retirement, to focus on this one site and to help bring it to a new 'golden age.' Not to solicite but I would like to get many more members. All of you are welcome and please stay active. I'll go and post my official 'link' in the proper forum now.
If KOTOR Wars does fail like its predecesors, I'll probably come back here and other sites, thanks.
Thanks and it's been a pleasure RPing with you guys over the past years,
David Schneider (Darth Validus)
P.S. If you could change my rank to something like diplomat or along that line, thanks.

It's been a pleasure and I hope you will return to us.
However, I do believe we have a policy against advertisement except in our link thread.

I wasn't trying to advertise as I stated, I was merely telling every my reason for my departure from most RP sites and I needed to explain the site so you could understand better. I did post my link the proper thread.
Thanks, Kevin and Marix.
