My personal view: Abkhazia and Ossetia wanted their freedom and Georgia was trying to make a propaganda to make countries not to recognize their freedom. Now we are seeing the new world order. Need Freedom? Let's destroy your cities first. The hunger of more land is destroying the whole world. USA is supporting Georgia because they gave soldiers for US's Iraq conquest and the Holy States simply against "free" world. Colonization is the only plague of the world. I do not support what Russia is doing but i am completely against Georgia's invasion and destruction of those lands. Now nothing left alive on those lands. 1500 dead, more than 30000 runaway...

While some may not agree with me I think this is a matter best left to Russia and Georgia. The US has stuck its nose into too many other peoples problems. Although not the only reason for the large decline in US popularity it is a major one. I will admit it is a shame that the issues have had to come to situation like they have, but the reality of the matter is that nations have been having "conflicts" like this since the begining. Nobody is ever gonna bring it to a total stop. War will always be a part of life. One sided as it may seem to be in some eyes it is still best left to them to sort out.

I agree with Jericho, although Georgia can never stand up to Russia in full scale war, so they would need help. It depends on whether Russia is looking to annex Georgia or just to defeat it.

Russia isn't trying to occupy Georgia, it's simply trying to keep Georgia from killing Russians in South Ossetia. It's simply defending its interests, especially since South Ossetia wishes to be independent, it's population is mostly Russian which means it would support Russia. Georgia attacked first and the Russians attacked in turn and now the world thinks Russia is going to invade again.

World thinks Russia will invade because of US's efforts. As i said, Georgia gave US its soldiers for Iraq and US is on Georgia's side. At least, Georgia has retreated to their lands now, leaving the ruins. Now they look like the poor defender because of they first agreed to back off.

I still say make your bed you lay in it. Georgia wanted to play now they pay. I still say the US is stupid if they continue to get involved. Its just the excuse places like China have been looking for to stand with Russia against the US. There is no gain from the US involvment. Oh wait do they have much oil in Georgia? Seems to be the main reason for any US action as of late.
