--Just to be clear, this adventure takes place before Lethe joins the Empire--
Lord Scourge has asked Sith Researcher Basidyus to make a guard animal. Since Alchemically designed creatures sometimes have a history of turning on their masters, I want a creation I can be sure of controlling. Since my greatest power is that of Force Stealth, I have asked for Basidyus to make a creature for me that sees through the Force, like a Miraluka. Unfortunately, in order to produce such a creature, he needs to study a Miraluka. In fact, he will have to examine one in such great detail, it may require more than one...
I would therefore like a few Sith to search for one or more Miraluka to bring back, so we can examine their sensory organs, and hopefully duplicate the biology in another creature. A dead Miraluka may be useful for a thorough post-mortem examination before studying the organs in question in a living being, but we must have at least one living Miraluka.
There are several planets I can suggest travelling to, but we will get to the mission parameters in due time... first I need some volunteers.
I am hoping for 3-6 Sith Acolytes, Warriors and/or Apprentices. One is my own Apprentice, Vulpine, and I know both of Minious' Apprentices have expressed interest. Additionally, another friend of mine will be showing up as a new character, introduced through this story. There should be one Master, Priest, Marauder, Lord or Lady accompanying the group, but since this is also a training exercise, I expect them to supervise, and simply advise the group rather than directly take part.
[Edit: Okay, so currently we have a Marauder, a Master and my Apprentice, and possibly a Lord joining next week - so anyone else, I would prefer to be below the rank of Master, rather than make this group even more powerful]
I will be GMing this adventure, and while I will be trying to get our D20 project working at the same time, very little of it will be visible - I'm mostly just going to be playtesting it on my side, and so much of it will look like diceless storytelling, much like most of our roleplays read. However, in order to get it working at least that well, I will work with each player on what they want the basics of their character sheet to look like.
[Edit: I will be writing up D20 character sheets for everyone involved, and then send my thoughts to each over PM.]
There can be ongoing roleplaying on the thread at any given time, but I am hoping everyone involved can commit to a 2-3 hour block on Sunday afternoons or evenings (from the perspective of someone in PST), for two or three Sundays in a row, so that any combat or intensive scenes can be addressed at those times. When I say afternoon or evening, I mean I could start as early as 11 AM or 12 PM, PST, or I could end as late as 10 or 11 PM, PST - and I'm looking for a 2-3 hour chunk of time, so in order to accomidate those in other time zones, we're talking as early as 11 AM - 2 PM or as late as 8 - 11 PM, and still be a three hour block that way... or any similar chunk of time in there when we can hopefully have everyone available.
So anyone who is interested in joining this game, please speak up, tell me your current rank and how long you have been at that rank, what Force Powers are most important for you to have, and what kind of times are possible/preferable to you.
[Edit: The game time has now been set as 12-3 PM, PST, on Sunday. Unless you have a good reason otherwise, I expect everyone who plays to be logged in and reading the roleplay thread during that time. If that time doesn't work, maybe the schedule for my next adventure will be better for you. Incidentally, since the ending time is determined by Duff being available until 4 PM, PST (midnight his time), if we're all willing to go a little past 3:00 some weeks, that may be possible.]

Lord Seti
I would like to volunteer for this mission.
I am a Sith Master and have been since 02/08/06.
My most important force ability is what I term Death Cloak. It utilizes Dark Side Necromantic Magick to assume a "veil of death." A person cannot be seen, nor can anyone sense their presence in the Force. However, any weapon (such as a lightsaber), can be seen when it is ignited or on. The saber would, for all practical purposes. appear to levitate in mid-air.
Sundays until 3PM Eastern, and 5PM eastern until 2AM. Other days I am generally available in the evenings. ( I'm pretty flexible)
If any further information is needed, please let me know.
Darth Seti I
Darth Duff
I am also willing to join this mission
I am a Sith Maurauder and have been since 29/01/06
My most important force abbility is to remain unseen, undetected and unheard a little like Darth Seti. Yet my ability is more camoflage and i can extend this ability to my weapons, devices or even allies.
Although my most used force power is force crush for a swift and brutal death....
In physical combat i choose to use twin lightsabers...
I go off GMT so in Central time if it can end anytime before 6pm... i cant stay up till 12am on a college night......
Thanks
Lord Scourge
Okay, so to put this into the terms of my time zone:
Seti can play 2 PM - 11 PM PST
Duff has to end by 4pm PST
So if both of you are playing, that pretty well makes it 2 PM - 4 PM PST. I'd prefer a three hour chunk, so if both of you are along, I would ask how early Seti can get to the computer, if sometimes he can be available around 4:30 EST (1:30 PST), and if sometimes running until 12:10 or 12:20 AM Europe-time (4:10-4:20 PST) would be possible for Duff. That way we could be on at the same time, about 1:30-1:45 start and around 4:00-4:10 finish, PST.
(Duff, just use your own time or PST - adding a time zone where none of us live only confuses it.)
Minious, you were talking about leading this mission, and your apprentices taking part. Zero also expressed interest - if either Lord wishes to take part, I would ask it be in an advisory fashion, as any stats I made for either of you would be over-powered for this adventure. Strata, Stap and Blight all expressed interest in the Mission thread, and all three would be welcome as part of the team. However, I need to know for certain - the major factor is availability to play, just let me know what times on Sunday work for you, if you want to join.
I'm hoping to get enough definite response to have the first session this coming Sunday, 26.Feb.

Seti, I have a couple of thoughts regarding your requested power:
Darth Seti I wrote:

The best way to do this with the existing Force Powers is with illusion - you would basically be creating an illusion of a near-tangible darkness. I offer you two possibilities here:
1. You are still working on this trick, and right now the best you can do is create the illusion of a thick fog - but this is simply your best illusion, you have the ability to make any illusion you choose according to the D20 rules (I can elaborate if necessary). You would then be capable of making the illusion you describe, as well as any other illusion that "real", once you reached a higher level.
2. You do not have the ability to make any illusion you want, just the illusion of darkness, but you can do it as well as you describe.
I would prefer you take option #1, as it gives a good way for continued growth of your character, and makes your character fit into the existing SW RPG rules systems.

Lord Seti
Lord Scourge,
First the times & time zones. For some strange reason, I wrote eastern instead of central. ( I live in Louisiana) Probably all the pain medication my Doctor has me on.LOL (Codeine is a wonderful thing, unless you want to be semi-coherent ) As to the times, I rechecked & I can get on anytime on Sunday.
As to the Illusion power discussed, I too favor option#1 since it offers more chances for my character's growth. This is the option that seems to make the most sense overall. My only question is how this would affect my former apprentice,Darth Acrimonus, since I taught him the technique through PM at the end of his training.
Seti
Lord Scourge
Darth Seti,
Simple, it is your best illusion, and so you use it as your example whenever demonstrating an illusion. Whether or not Acrimonus focuses on that or a different illusion is up to him.
Would your PM make nearly as much sense if you simply replaced "total darkness" with "really thick fog that doesn't allow seeing more than a couple meters" ? If so, the regular gaming group I'm in, has some in-jokes about "pick-up scenes" and "ADR", for when the GM realizes that a previously covered scene shouldn't go exactly as described. We start the following week with a "pick-up" scene because the director didn't like the dailies and told us to reshoot with a slightly different script. (Two weeks ago, we started gaming w/ "additional dialog recording" because he wanted to keep all the die rolls and results of the action, but he reworked the story to flow much more smoothly if our banter with our antagonist had gone completely differently)
We keep it to a minimum, but it happens all the time in Star Wars
Now, then, so on the topic of time-frame, if you're available any time on Sunday, then the biggest limitation is still ending by 4 PM PST (midnight for Duff) - I would then hope to aim for something like 12-3 PM PST, since I'm sure Duff wants to have a little time between getting off the computer and getting in bed.

Vulpine
I'm free from about 4:00 PM pacific on weekdays and free the entire day on weekends, I don't know about Mom though. My primary force power is Force Lightnin'.
Lord Scourge
Okay, obviously all three of you are approved, since the roleplay has now begun.
Just so everyone is aware, it is still possible to join this mission, and will be until a week from now. I am going to end the session today with the group ready to leave, and can easily have someone run forth wanting to join the mission before it leaves. However, once we start roleplaying next Sunday, there can be no more players except Kallisti, who is already written into my story.
If you want to join, post here first letting me know, not in the main roleplay thread.
-Scourge
Darth Acheron
I have been a lord since 11/12/05 and volunteered to lead this a while ago. I am free on all days except (for you guys) Sunday and Tuesday, which for me is Monday and Wednesday, on which I have tennis training. On the other days, i can be on from 6-7 EST, and on Saturday and Sunday, any time past 12 EST (except for you guys, as for you guys it is friday and saturday).
Lord Scourge
Minious, if you want to join in an advisory role, that is still fine - any stats I made for you would be way too powerful for this mission, you could easily push through anything in your way until you got what you wanted...
So if you want to be involved, but hanging back and just offering advise to the others, read the roleplay thread so far, and walk into the mission briefing a little late.
-Scourge
Lord Scourge
Okay, update now that we've had the first session.
It is still possible for more to join this mission before it leaves. Minious, perhaps one or two others. In order to join, you have to say in here that you're able to play 12-3 PM on Sundays. I'm currently thinking this game will probably last another three sessions, based on the pace we had today. You also need to tell me what Force power is the focus of your study so far - except Minious, who is a powerful Sith Lord with vast experience in the use of many powers.
When you are approved in this thread, I'll let you know what kind of post(s) you should make before next Sunday, at 11:45 AM, PST - because I would like to get anyone showing up at the last minute, right before the regular gameplay time.
Seti, you will want to make a post in the roleplay thread, of getting back to the mission briefing room, shortly after Duff and Vulpine left, but while Scourge is still there, collecting information to give the team before they leave.
I'm also updating the first post of this thread.
-Scourge
Lord Scourge
What fun, I'm triple-posting... just as well to bump the thread with new info, though...
Since game time is 7-10 AM on Monday for Minious, that's pretty well impossible for him to join in. I'll try to make the next game a little more feasible for your schedule.
However, I designed this adventure for lower-level characters, so I'd still love to have one or two more Apprentice-Acolyte-Warrior ranked characters join in. If you're interested, and you can play 12-3 PM (PST, adjust for your local time) on Sunday, reply in this thread to let me know a bit about your character, what your favorite Force power is, etc - and you can run up and catch the ship a few minutes before it leaves at the beginning of next week's session.

Okay an update to provide simple rules for the players at such point that the roleplay enters combat (which will likely be this today)...
Very simply, one turn of combat equals one of several possibilities:
1. An attack and a move
2. Two moves
3. Two attacks (if you have a high enough attack bonus to get two attacks)
An attack is a single attack, not swinging your weapon around in a wide arc to hit multiple targets.
A move is any of several actions, such as running 10 meters, climbing 2 meters, drawing or holstering a weapon (trained Jedi and Sith can draw a lightsaber as a free action), picking up an item from the ground, and so on.
Special actions require a full turn to perform, such as a running charge, a coup de grace (finishing a downed opponent), attacking multiple targets, grappling, fighting defensively, skillfully disengaging from combat without exposing yourself to attack, or running at top speed.
When we go into combat, I will start the combat by listing everyone's position in initiative. Then, in that order, each person posts their attempt of what they want to do in one round. I will post the result of that attempt, and then the next person posts their attempt, and so on. Please note when I have the NPC's (the people you're fighting) as given initiative - I'll do my best to include their attempt, and the result, in the same post after I give the previous player's results.
Combat can get a LOT more complex than this, of course, but since this is the first time I'll be running combat in this settings, I'm hoping to keep it relatively simple.
It helps that I've been using this game system for a couple of years - if you want to do something elaborate, just describe it and I should be able to put it in game terms.
