Star wars TV series?!?!?!Hey has anyone heard about the upcoming Star wars TV series?

Very little that has expanded past the original announcements, that they're planning two series, one live action and one animated - at least one of the two will be set between Episodes III and IV - the animated one is not going to be Cartoon Network Clone Wars stye, but realistic, like the next generation of the style that made the Final Fantasy movie (which looked great if you ignored the lack of story, acting or anything especially interesting happening) - they will not be focusing on main characters from the movie saga, maybe guest appearances of minor characters, but Vader isn't going to be showing up - GL himself wants to make sure it gets started right, but he doesn't want to make them himself, so he's planning out the first 50-100 episodes with the production teams, helping with pre-production, and then going on to other projects and letting the people he hired do the work he hired them for.
Everything I've seen updating the information since the first announcements last April, have pretty much just been confirming that initial info that was all revealed at Celebration III.

Yeah, I've heard there are going to be 100 episodes, of half an hour length.

I also heard it will take part in the story of Alaya Secura, as a surviving Jedi.

There are a number of Jedi who survived the purge, but I doubt Aayla was one of them - hers was probably the most certain of the Order 66 deaths - she's walking along with her clone troopers behind her, she looks up to see a pretty bird, and gets shot in the back. While she's lying on the ground, they proceed to open fire into her body. The action is somewhat obscured, because they wanted to put a limit on how gruesome all these deaths were, but it's pretty obvious that half a dozen troopers are firing automatic weapons into her while she's lying face-down on the ground...
There were actually some threads on the Hyperspace forums of sw.com, that were entitled "Aayla Secura - chances of survival?" and "Mace Windu - chances of survival?" - and I ended up making a parody of them called "Younglings - chances of survival?" arguing that if those two could survive their rather certain deaths, maybe some younglings managed to slip past Vader after he ignited his lightsaber and they cut scene.

Aayla's "survival" was confirmed as false over at tff.net.

Anakin

Well I got the tv information on wikipedia saying that Lucas stated that he might keep Aayla alive, but of course the site be misleading.

Emperor Shadow

VERY misleading.

Anakin

Well not very misleading, but some of its info can be. Alot of times the info is correct. Very Misleading should be the title on SS's site.

In any event, Secura could be considered deader than Exar Kun.

Anakin

We will see.

Either Lucas was joking, or it was false information.

Why do you say this?

Honestly, when I saw Secura's death, I just laughed out loud. It really felt like GL was giving the finger to everyone who signed that petition to make Aayla appear in Episode III. For me, she's truly dead.

I am hoping that it will have Quinlan, as he seems to have survived Republic.

Oh, I quite agree, but I actually was looking forward to his survival more after I read issue #82 than after I read issue #83 (the last issue of Republic) - what he was saying right at the end of that one sounded like he was completely ready to go back to the Dark Side:
"I feel anger growing within me, gnawing its way to the surface. I no longer care. It pushes the pain aside — it gives me the strength to survive. I will have a reckoning! I will have vengeance! I will call on the Light, I will call on the Dark — I will survive and I will make things right!

...in case anyone was wondering why Ostrander is my favorite SW writer...

Yes I think Master Vos will be in the series. George Lucas told the people that make the comics featuring Vos to not kill him off. He had a son during the Purge, so he must be alive.

New information suggests that a dark sider comes across a group of Jedi apparently led by Shaak ti riding mutant Rancors. Sounds like fun, .

I guess since the killing of Shaak Ti was cut from the movie, she didn't die in order 66.

the only thing I know for sure is that Shaak Ti will die

Right, officially, Shaak survived Order 66 and Grevious's attack.

And how do you know that?

| Quote: | | Right, officially, Shaak survived Order 66 and Grevious's attack | I thought a web comic came out on sw.com about Shaak Ti, saying she died defending the Jedi Temple. I guess a single strip can be disregarded in light of the TV series, but I'd been thinking of her as dead.

Yeah, Rick McCallum denounced that and the deleted scenes as canon a very long time ago.
Shaak is alive and ready to kick butt.
