I really liked Dark Nest and think it is an awesome segway to Legacy. Anyone else surprised about Alema?

Alema was a surprise. But, seeing how Jacen reacted to protect her, I think she is going to be the catalyst for events in Legacy and look forward to (hopefully) reading about his turning to the dark side (well, providing the Jedi Order's acceptence of the Potentium fails...)

I think your thinking of Allana, Jacen's daughter, Alema is the Twi'lek Night Herald, who is presumed dead. Revenous, why aren't you going to read them? They tell the story of Luke and Leia finding out about Padme and what happened to Anakin in Ep. 3.

I don't like to much how the authors took the story in there hands and made whatever they wanted.I mean I loved the Thrawn trilogy but with the whole stupid Vong invasion really got me to dislike the EU books set in the OT.Whats the book about?

What you mean the stupid Vong invasion? I thought it was brilliant! Instead of the old boring repetitive stories with the Epire being the antagonists, they spun it in a completly fresh direction, with invaders from another Galaxy! And Chewie dies in it as well! As does Anakin Solo, my faveourite character! 
The books, as it is a Trilogy, are about Raynar Thul and two Dark Jedi who set up an Empire of Killiks, and are determined to send the Galaxy into eternal war. Jacen has a daughter, almost goes to the DS, and Luke and Leia discover the truth about their parents. You won't really understand it though if you havemn't read at least Star by Star.

 Forgive my error. Allana is only mentioned by name briefly... but I should've recognised who Alema was. Or still may be, if Fett can live through being swallowed by the Sarlacc, maybe Alema is still alive too.

I found the only interesting aspect of the Trilogy, the discovery of R2's holos and the actual Killik-Alliance-Chiss war, and not the actual details (Jaina as a bug *shudders*)
