Here, Sith enter to pray before their Dark Patron, our another Patron. The Church of the Dark Side has used their skills in the dark arts to create a single, dark blue panel on the floor of each Altar that you kneel on to speak to the spirits.
High Mage Serratus
Darth Serratus entered the Hall of Dark Patronage. Rather than his normal attire, he was dressed in a light black tunic, pants and robe and rancor-leather boots. He was also noticeably absent his staff Arbiter. The Sith Temple was a strictly non-combat area and Serratus respected this by not arming himself when he came here. Of course, should the Temple be attacked, Serratus and the rest of the Sith would not be helpless, they had the Force on their side.
However, although Serratus had came here unarmed, he would, he hoped, not be leaving there unarmed. He had come here to speak to his Dark Patron, Darth Nihilus about the Force and its relation to living things. He strode first to Darth Nihilus's altar. He placed his holocron beside the altar and activated it, so as to record his conversation with Nihilus, and knelt down on the dark blue panel. The tall, intimidating figure of Darth Nihilus appeared before him.
Serratus touched his forehead and the palms of his hands to the floor.
"M'lord."
A series of strangled hisses were Nihilus's reply but as they echoed through the Force, Serratus heard the noises in all the languages he was familiar with and most prominently in Basic.
"The son of the Dark Side returns. For what purpose do you wrest me from my ancient sleep?"
Serratus raised himself from the ground and faced the Dark Lord of Hunger.
"Lord Nihilus, in your time, you ripped the life from hundreds of thousands of beings with the Force. I wish to hear your views on the relationship between life and the Force."
Nihilus nodded once.
"It is not so demanding as some have asked. Some foolish Sith think I am a worker of miracles that I can make them more powerful with a word. I am powerful, not omnipotent. A true Sith, such as yourself, seeks instruction so as to better himself, not to be bettered by another's power. For then, what knowledge would one have of one's own power? But, I digress. Let me give me insight into the relationship of life and the Force.
I believe the Force is like water, filling the space that it inhabits. The Force fills the universe completely, as water fills a bottle. Living things move through the Force like fish and live and breathe it, even if they do not realise it, all things are full of the Force. For beings such as us, who can manipulate the Force, we can use the Force within other living beings like a claw, to grab life and rip it from others.
Those who can manipulate the Force are so gifted because their bodies contain large amounts of midichlorians. Midichlorians are like funnels that direct the Force into us in a certain way that allows us to detect it, feel it and use it. The midichlorians are an extension of us and act as a medium through which we communicate with the Force and impose our will upon it.
We who manipulate the Force and therefore life are obliged to consume it. We have been given the power to consume and we must use that power. Let the hunger take you, son of the Dark Side. Consume life wherever you go and consume it from whomsoever you wish. That is my advice, son of the Dark Side."
Serratus lowered himself before Nihilus once more and the Dark Lord of Hunger disappeared once more.
Serratus rose, taking his holocron with him and made his way to the Grand Corridor.
