The Office and Library of the High Historian

It is here where any Sith - Adept to Emperor - may come to seek the High Historian.

His Office is in the front-most, and smaller, room at the back of the Sith Temple.

Behind this office, after passing through many doors and security, you reach the Library of the High Historian.

Venedictos Appo

Venedictos Appo, apprentice to Emperor Shadow, strode casually to the door of the Office of the High Historian. Having been told of the rules against combat, Ven had opted not to bring his blaster pistol with him. He was fairly sure that the Temple would not be attacked and if it was, the complex was full of powerful, dangerous Sith who would rip the attacking enemy to pieces, such as the man he had come to see, Grand Mage of the Order of Sith Mages and High Historian of the Eternal Empire, Lord Aequitas. Besideswhich, Ven was pretty sure he could defend himself, for the most part.

Ven knocked on the door and entered upon reply. The room was simply decorated, the colour scheme being primarily made up of reds, blacks and silvers. At a desk at the back of the room sat the High Historian himself.

"Lord Aequitas, may I have a moment of your time?"
Lord Aequitas

The sun was setting on another Kuat day. Unfortunately, the High Historian, Lord Aequitas, was not leaving his office anytime soon. With the recent publication of a reformed history, he was inundated with messages asking about dates, families and deaths. He was just finishing a long memo to a new trainee Historian when he heard a knock at the door, and someone entering. Not looking up from his memo, he sighed slightly.

“Yes, what can I do for you?” he said irritably.
Venedictos Appo

Venedictos could see that his grand-uncle was busy and wasn't going to waste his precious time. He had never met Aequitas before, his grandfather was the Grand Mage's brother but had been raised as his cousin and the reality of their relationship had only been discovered when Ven himself was born, just after Aequitas had disappeared. Then he had turned up as High Prophet of the Church of the Dark Side, Procurate of the Council of Justice and Moff of Naboo, making him far too important for Ven to ever meet, let alone talk to. Now he was the Grand Mage, a Sith Lord and the Chairman of the Judicial Committee, and not only that but Moff of Coruscant as well as High Historian and Ven really didn't want to waste the time of someone who could rip him to pieces with a passing thought.

"I was hoping to borrow a treatise on telekinesis from your library, if that was possible. I was told that you had a rather good one."
Lord Aequitas

Aequitas stopped for a moment. The accent was a Naboo, he smiled. “Ah, someone from Naboo. How is the planet doing? I admit, I miss it greatly since being transferred to Coruscant. Alas, these things needed to be done. I haven’t even been back to my Palace yet”, he sighed slightly. He missed his comforts in life. He still had many, of course, but none could beat relaxing in a pool on Naboo. He stopped writing and swung around his chair, in an effort to get out from behind his desk with ease and comfort.

“Follow me”, he said simply, still not looking at the young man. “Telekinesis you say. Excellent subject, excellent ability. I myself can use six lightsabers at once. I could probably do more, but alas, I haven’t had time to practice lately”. They walked briskly through a maze of corridors with security guards until they came to a huge blast door, obviously voice coded so as to not allow any unauthorized persons enter. “Grand Mage Aequitas and, eh, and, I’m sorry, have I missed your name?” he said with a look of bewilderment to the young man, still refraining from looking directly at him; the High Historian was now looking at the ceiling.
Venedictos Appo

Venedictos smiled slightly at the question of Naboo. The last time he had been on his home planet, Aequitas had still been Moff.

"I haven't been on Naboo in quite a while m'lord. Three years as a matter of fact. You were still Moff the last time I was home."

He followed the Grand Mage obediently in the direction of his library which Ven knew was one of the largest and most extensive in Kuat, and indeed the galaxy. When faced with the question of his name, Venedictos smiled slightly once more.

"Venedictos Appo m'lord."
Lord Aequitas

Aequitas nodded, repeating the Apprentice’s words, “Venedictos Appo, Venedictos Ap-“, he stopped mid-sentence. He finally brought his head down to look at the young man. He breathed heavily. On front of him was a younger version of his cousin, or rather his brother, Angelus. “Venedictos Appo”, he boomed loudly across the corridor. He looked at his relative in the eye before pacing away. “I’ve heard of you, you little mongrel. You’re, you’re Dioltas’ son, aren’t you. Or, were. Before you killed him in cold blood”, he said before continuing, without stopping for breath. “Do you know how often I had to go to Angelus’ house to comfort him about the loss of his son, tell him how his son was now with the Force? I had wasted valuable Imperial time, not to mention, have to deal with the loss of a nephew whose company I enjoyed greatly”.

Aequitas looked at the young Naboo with a snarl and sweeped his hand to the left. Without warning, the young Appo was sent flying backwards in the corridor. “Don’t touch him”, Aequitas shouted to the guards, who were rushing to arrest Venedictos, “Let me deal with the little whelp”.
Venedictos Appo

Venedictos had not been expecting a warm reception but he was ready to take whatever was coming to him. He didn't let his his anger show in his face, but in his eyes, his voice and his words.

"My father was an arrogant swine who betrayed and humiliated me and tried to turn me into an elitist pig just like him. He was without honour and his dying words were to call me a thankless, insufferable cur. I did not kill him in cold blood, I killed him in revenge and I expect no less from you. Do the deed Lord Aequitas, if you truly believe I deserve to die for putting a blaster bolt in the brain of a man who killed the only dream I ever had and treated me like a casual pet instead of a son."
Lord Aequitas

The Grand Mage cackled, “I know what your father was like, and that was why I enjoyed his company. If he was a Force sensitive, then he would have been a fine Sith. Unfortunately, it seems my genes have rubbed on on an ungrateful hog”, Aequitas spat. As Venedictos got to his feet, Aequitas laughed and raised him in the air using the Force, and then flung him towards the library doors; and the end of the corridor where Aequitas was standing.

Walking slowly toward the young ex-guard, Aequitas smiled. “It’s been a while since I enjoyed a good murder”, he said with a wicked grin. Like, a flash, Aequitas hand erupted out of its sleeve and the apprentice was hit with a barrage of Dark Lightening. The smell of burning flesh was becoming ever apparent.

Aequitas was becoming ever more maniac, his eyes had become red, and his cries of laughter sounded more like an animals shriek of joy. Halting the lightening with one hand, but letting it continue with the other, Aequitas raised the apprentice into the air and flung him against the side of the library blast doors. He stopped his laughed and his attacked and walked slowly toward the apprentice. “I would kill you here and now”, he said slowly, “but this is the Sith Temple, where no fighting can occur. You are lucky”, he said spitting on the burned body.
Venedictos Appo

Venedictos's wounds were burning and a great weakness had taken hold in him. But his will was iron and he slowly pulled himself to his feet. He looked Aequitas dead in the eyes, showing something much more dangerous than anger, hate or fear.

Complete and total calm.

Ven grinded his teeth for a couple of seconds before addressing the Grand Mage.

"If you wanted me to leave m'lord, all you had to do was ask."
Lord Aequitas

Aequitas stopped and took a breath. He began to compose himself slowly by shaking his sleeves back over his hands before turning away. He cleared his throat. “Guards, Apprentice Appo here needs some assistance in exciting the Temple. Please ensure he finds his way out without trying to kill himself again”. He coughed slightly before continuing his directions to the guards. “Once that is done, please go to the main library in the main city and retrieve for me Historian Tarllz. Tarllz will help this cur to research whatever he needs done”.

With that, the doors to the private library opened and Aequitas swept in.
Venedictos Appo

Ven didn't wait for the guards to escort him, he simply turned and swept from the room. Whether they followed him or not, he didn't really care, as long as he got his kriffing telekinesis treatise.
