Lord Seti

The Training & Missions of Asmodeus

Seti sits down in a large room on the floor. Against the wall, stand myriad statues of past famous Sith lords, both Dark Lords and minor Lords dating back to Lord Kaan's time. The room is very cold. Behind Seti is a passageway. As Asmodeus enters the room, Seti smiles.

"Even a Sith priest, Prophet or Alchemist must be prepared for the unavoidable. Do not use your lightsabers Defend yourself as best you can. When you see your opponents, attack them without hesitation."

Seti vanishes. Entering through the passage enters Darth Sidious, Darth Bane and Exar Kun. All three ignite lightsabers.
Darth Acrimonus

Asmodeus reaches out with his senses. Despite his mind telling him that he cannot possibly be facing the three Sith Masters, his senses confirm their presences. Asmodeus unhooks his lightsabers and places them behind him, to avoid the temptation to use them.

Focussing on the test, Asmodeus draws the power of the Force into himself. Raising his hand, he unleashes the power as a sharp push in Darth Bane's direction to little effect.

The three Sith Masters converge on Asmodeus. He ducks, rolls, jumps, forced to continually avoid the attacks. Letting the Dark Side well inside himself, Asmodeus tries the shove again, knocking Sidious backward but leaving himself equally off balance. Staggering, Kun's saber barely misses Asmodeus' shoulder.

((OOC: I wasn't sure how much of the fight you wanted detailed. I assume the Sith Master's next 'move' will be detailed by yourself.))
Lord Seti

Asmodeus heard Darth Seti's voice from behind him.

"Your mind told you the right answer but you listened to your senses."

Seti stepped out from the shadows. He force threw Darth Sidious against the wall. Sidious' body smashed into the wall, revealing wires and circuits. Asmodeus understood.
Seti continued as he pressed a gadget in his hand & the other "Lords" stopped still.

"They're practice droids-I altered them to appear like Dark Lords. You knew it could not be them..they are quite dead. But you could not beat them because you thought they "might" be Darth Bane and so on. Now you know they are droids and so you being defeated by them is not possible"

Seti clicked the gadget again and twenty Dark Lords entered through the passage.

" Now take the rage you feel right now and destroy them... all 22 of them are now on kill mode."

Darth Seti I turned all 22 droids on and stepped back into the shadows...
Darth Acrimonus

Anger welled in Asmodeus, at being tricked, at almost losing a limb to a droid.

The Jedi had told him to trust what he felt, that everything else could deceive him, but he now saw ever his senses could lie to him.

The anger built into a blind rage, and Asmodeus unleashed it.

With a gesture, the farthest two droids rose into the air, then Asmodeus brought them crashing down on top of their mechanical kindred. He used their peices to reduces other droids to peices.

His control still lacking, Asmodeus took a number of blows from stray shrapnel, but knew cuts and bruises would heal with time.

Asmodeus simply sent out blasts of Force-telekinesis, wave after wave of energy to keep the droids smashing into one and other. The strategy wasn't efficient, but it eventually reduced every droid to ruin, with only minimal harm to himself.

Standing atop a heap of ruined droids, Asmodeus turned to see Darth Seti I step back out of the shadows.

"Forgive me for my error in judgement initially, Master," Asmodeus said, sinking down on one knee, "I hope you find every droid has been adequetly... disposed of."
Lord Seti

"You annihilated those Sith Lords quite efficiently, my apprentice."

Seti smiled.

" But you were neither tricked nor were you wrong. Your rational mind said one thing, your eyes another. You must learn when to listen to each."

Seti knew his apprentice understood, but the lack of control must be worked on.

"When you attack with the Force, you are using it like a wave. That is only one way. For control & precision, another method is to use it like a rope. Throw it at a target. But right before it hits, transform it in your mind into a solid staff and push it through your target. This method can be used to pull too. Simply, in your thought, let the rope hook onto your target then pull."

Seti smiled slightly. Lifting his hand, Seti then appears to be using the technique but without result. Then Asmodeus sees what his Master has been "pulling" on. Through the passageway enters an entire pack of borras (boar-wolves,natives of Endor)acting like they were on an invisible leash.

"When I release them, use everything you know. I promise you these creatures are very real."

Seti suddenly was gone. The Borras began running towards Asmodeus.
( OOC: You may also use your lightsabers here.)
Darth Acrimonus

Asmodeus quickly collects his lightsabers, hooking one onto his belt and igniting the other. The crimson blade hisses to life casting eery shadows around the large room.

The Borras run toward Asmodeus, too many for him to try concentrating his attacks on at once. At the last second Asmodeus uses a Force-assisted leap to fling himself over the Borras, forcing them to have to redirect their charge.

Targeting the first Asmodeus lets the rage build in him. Like a rope, he reminds himself, then reaches out with the Force.

Asmodeus continues to focus on refining the Force energy in him, letting it coil around itself, then casts it out at the closest Borras. The animal feels the ethreal presence wrap around its body, and thrashes wildly, clawing at the floor as it's dragged toward Asmodeus' waiting blade. In one swift cut, Asmodeus cleaves the Borras' head from it's neck.

The rest of the Borras came down on Asmodeus' postion. Flipping his saber around instinctivly Asmodeus fought his way through the group of Borras, freeing himself to move to an advantageous position.

One of the Borras close on his heels, Asmodeus dropped to the floor suddenly, letting it leap over him. He cast the rope out again, trying to refine it into a staff like Darth Seti I had suggested, but his attack missed.

The Borras landed, and spun around lunging at Asmodeus again. Asmodeus refocused the energy in him into the rope, and cast it at the Borras. He felt it snag, the Borras snarled visciously, then began to reform it into a spear with his mind. The Borras' advance stopped, then it began to slide backwards, until Asmodeus attack pierced through the animal.

The Borras fell lifelessly limp on the floor. Asmodeus continued to practice the technique, each time it came to him easier, until evey Borras Darth Seti I had unleashed was dead.
Lord Seti

"Excellent." Seti says as he steps from the shadows.

"You use what you learned immediately, by adding it to what you already know. You have the scholar's approach. This is the right approach to learning anything."

Seti then force pushed the various debris to the sides.

"Now we will see how well you fight against another Sith, and if you have been studying the Holocron as I instructed. Attack me, using only Makashi form."
Darth Acrimonus

"As you wish, Master."

Asmodeus shifted his stance, holding his lightsaber in one hand, the crimson blade pointed toward Darth Seti I to offer the smallest possible profile.

Asmodeus advanced on his Master, initially going through the standard series of thrusts as outlined in the holocron. Keeping his grip on his lightsaber single handed, focussing on keeping his movements as fluid as possible.

He knew such standard attacks would be nothing to his Master, who parried them with ease, but they worked to get him in the right frame of mind to fight in a combat style vastly different to that he was used too.

Half way through repeating the series of standard moves, Asmodeus fainted low, aiming for Seti's hips, then flicked the blade high to stab at the shoulder.

He was not surprised to see his Master counter the move, to expect anything less would be foolish. Nor was he surprised when his Master turned his attack against him, forcing Asmodeus to take up the role of defender.
Lord Seti

Seti turned his lightsabers off.
"Asmodeus, you are a superb apprentice. A master could hope for no better student. You have demonstrated your skill in knowledge of the Force and knowledge of the blade."
Seti walked over to where he had a shoulder bag. He removed a box and walked back, handing the box to Asmodeus.
"Open the box. There are two gifts for you. One is the curved-hilt lightsaber of my father. It was made by Count Dooku for him. It is now yours. Also, the writings in the box are my own on Makashi. They are for you to learn as you see fit and to instruct your own apprentices with if you wish to. But there is a mission for you on the electronic disk there...."

OOC: I want you to start a thread in Roleplay and duel another Sith in combat. Duel someone who is equal or higher rank than yourself. Then Tuesday evening or Wednesday post of your duel here and I will let you know about your Knighting. This will be your last Mission.
Darth Acrimonus

Asmodeus returned to his Master once he had completed healing.

"Master, as I'm sure you know I recently engaged in a duel with fellow apprentice Ghoul. Your Makashi techniques served me well, and in purely lightsaber combat their was no victor. Ultimately, I lost the duel. Ghoul used a sonic based attack to disorient and disable me, but at least I will be prepared for such attacks in the future. Still, I managed to restrain Ghoul temporarily, although the strain was more than I could handle. In hindsight, using the last of my strength in that manner may've been foolish."

Asmodeus covered a few more minor details as they came to him, then stood in silence before Darth Seti I, awaiting his assessment.
Lord Seti

"Asmodeus,You have been an extraordinary pupil. However, in the battle you missed one important point...you accepted defeat as a possibility. Never let that thought enter your mind. A Sith has unlimited energy....because he has the CHAOS of the Universe within him."

Darth Seti I's hands raised up and unleashed a torrent of dark side energy and pain into the body of his apprentice. He then sent a flood of mental images of Asmodeus' death recurring over & over into his mind. Asmodeus lay almost dead on the floor.

" There is no defeat, there is Darkness. Remember this lesson well."

As easily as he sent pain, Seti now sent healing into the tortured body of his apprentice. When all his injuries were healed and no pain remained, Seti lowered his hands.

" It was a necessary lesson for you to learn. Now stand up."

Asmodeus rose. Seti handed him a scroll.

"Read this when you can. They are my teachings, or advice to you. There are also some translations from a Tomb on Korriban I found."

The Scroll read:
Quote:
Darth Seti I: Thoughts on a Philosophy of War.
I. Everything is a weapon, always remember that.

II. If you think defeat is possible, it is. Enter no battle willingly that you think you may not win.

III. However, maxim #2 is no excuse for cowardice or laziness. If you feel them stirring within you, destroy them utterly or they will destroy you.

IV. Learn the principle, abide by the principle, and dissolve the principle. Learn the forms, absorb, dissolve. This is the secret of Alchemy. In short, enter a mold without being caged in it. Obey the principle without being bound by it. LEARN, MASTER AND ACHIEVE!!!

V. Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way round or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves.

VI. Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water my friend.

VII. The understanding of the Sith warrior is through personal feeling from movement to movement in the mirror of the relationship and not through a process of isolation. To be is to be related. To isolate is death. Ultimately, Sith arts means honestly expressing yourself. Now, it is very difficult to do. It has always been very easy to put on a show and be cocky, and be flooded with a cocky feeling and all that. One can make all kinds of phoney things. Blinded by it. Or I can show some really fancy and flashy lightsaber movements and so on. But to experience oneself through the Dark Side honestly, not lying to oneself, and to express that Darkness honestly, effectively and brutally? Now that is very hard to do.

Maxims and Writings from the Sarcophagus of the Unknown Master of Korriban

I. Falsehood is invariably the child of fear in one form or another.

II.The universe forces us all to compromise with our environment to some extent, and we only waste our strength if we fight pitched battles for points which are not worth a skirmish.

III.I had learnt to look on the world without being affected by events. I was able to observe what went on as few humanoids can, for the average being's senses are deceived by his emotions. He gets things out of proportion and he exaggerates them even when he is able to appreciate them at all. I made up my mind that it should be an essential part of my system of initiation to force my pupils to be familiar with just those things which excite or upset them, until they have acquired the power of perceiving them accurately without interference from the emotions. It is all a branch of the art of concentration, no doubt; but it is one which has been very much neglected, and it is of supreme importance when the aspirant arrives at the higher levels, where it is a question of 'making no difference between any one thing and any other thing', and uniting oneself with each and every possible idea. For as long as anything soever escapes assimilation there remains separateness and duality, or the potentiality of such. Evil can only be destroyed by 'eternal desire under will', and so long as it is feared and hated, so long as we insist on attributing a real and irreconcilable existence to it, so long will it remain evil for us. The same of course applies to what we call 'good'. Good is itself evil in so far as it is separate from other ideas."

IV. Both Good and Evil are Lies, remove them forever from your mind, spirit, heart and speech. Then Glory in your new self like a new monster.

V. Man, unable to solve the Riddle of Existence, takes counsel of the Dark Lord of Time, extreme old age. Such answer as he can get is the one word 'Despair'.

VI. "It may be said that this dark doctrine is not a matter of Sith Magick but of common sense. True, but Sith Magick is common sense. What, then, is the difference between the Sith Magician and the ordinary man? This, that the Magician has demanded that nature shall be for him a phenomenal mode of expressing his spiritual reality, The circumstances, therefore, of his life are uniniformly adaptcd to his work."

And Asmodeus, a last advice for when you take an apprentice:

A teacher must never impose this student to fit his favourite pattern; a good teacher functions as a pointer, exposing his student's vulnerability (and) causing him to explore both internally and finally integrating himself with his being.

"Now You are to meet me in the Room of Ascension of Darkness.( Promotion Thread under your name) You shall be tested by a Lord after I knight in your new name. Be prepared. You have been an excellent apprentice and will be a superb Acolyte and Master, I have no doubt." Very Happy
