Supreme Commander Marix stood on the grassy knoll on his home planet of Kiffu. It had been 5 years since he had been here last, dueling his friend the then-Darth Tarna. It had been before either of them had become Order Heads, and the battle had taken place in an abandoned village 100 miles from here.
This small, peaceful area was the place of Markaro Vos, not Marix. Markaro Vos had been being groomed to be the next Shey'f of the Kiffar, to ascend to his families traditional rank and responsibility. But the deception and betrayal by his regent had turned him from that path and into his current one.
As he stood there, letting the swift breeze whip through his Kiffar-styled hair and his long black cloak. He had ordered his apprentice to land on the planet, and find him through the Force. Darth Marix had dampened his Force signature, adding to the challenge, wondering if Laurio would be able to complete his first task.

Laurio found his master after a half an hour. "Sorry i took so long master i landed a bit to far away" Laurio bowed his head in respect and waited for his master to continue

Markaro Vos just stood there, breathing in Kiffu's air and the image around him. He stared off into the distance, ignoring his apprentice. He slowly wrapped the Force around a large boulder, and lifted it into the air, behind Laurio's back. It was so subtle, that Blake could not sense the Force usage. The boulder slowly gained momentum in the air as Markaro pulled on it. It was heading right for Laurio...

Laurio did not sense the force use but he felt the presence of the boulder rushing towards him. Quickly and smoothly he took out his two lightsabers Snap hiss and turned around and sliced the boulder into pieces in one fluid movement staring at the boulder he awaited his masters reply

Still, Markaro physically ignored his apprentices presence, instead he focused his mind on the pieces of the boulder. He picked them up with the Force, and started them in a controlled orbit around Laurio. The rocks accelerated, faster and faster, spinning around an ever closing eye, with Laurio in the center.

Opening his eyes, Markaro spoke for the first time.

"Give up yet?"

"I never give up" Laurio says struggling to breathe in the cyclone the rock fragments were making

Laurio used the force by concentrating on one painful memory. a blast of the force surrounded him and exploded. the rocks were destroyed and flung all around in small patches of sand
Laurio fell to the ground taking large gulps of air wondering what was going to happen next ? did he react properly or was his action going to cost him dearly ? he tensed up waiting for his masters word or action ready to take on anything

Markaro let go of his whirling stones just as Laurio unleashed his own storm. He didn't want to kill the kid by matching Force powers, and making Laurion strain.

"First lesson. Knowing when to give up. You are not all powerful, never will be. The only thing we can do is make you stronger than you are. Rise, you may catch your breath as we walk. You are lucky you did not pull that stunt with another Master, one not as forgiving as I am, or in a real battle, where you may have killed yourself with the strain to overcome your opponents Force power."

Markaro began walking down the hill, in no particular direction at all, only walking on the planet of his past.

"Tell me. What do you know of the Force?"

"The Force is our power and our ally. The Force has always been with us. That is its nature. It surrounds us. And penetrates. It binds the universe together. Those who become sensitive to its presence can learn how to use it"

Though the Force was categorized in this way, there were no specific abilities or powers that were only usable by a follower of a different path of the Force the Force partially existed inside the life forms that used it, and drew energy from their emotions"

"I see that you are some kind of encyclopedia, reciting back exact definitions. How well are you at practicing the Force? Using its power? Or are you only good for defining it?"

Markaro continued walking, planning out another test of Laurio's experience with the Force.

"I am just reciting what the sith i trained under in tatooine said to me. We did not get alot of time to talk as we were attacked. I do not know how to use the force very well, I mostly concentrate on a memory that makes me angry or sad and it just happens.
I cannot control it very well most of the time it just bursts out like you saw, leaving me weak and tired." Laurio explains while wondering what was goin to happen next?

"So you have had previous experience and training by a Sith. Tell me do you know the Sith's name, the one who trained you before me? That is something I would like to know."

Markaro once again grasped an object, this time a large branch and hurled it at his apprentice.

"No i do not know his name he told me just to call him Master"

Laurio Destroyed the branch with his two lightsabers cutting it into many pieces

Supreme Commander Alor

"I see." Was all Markaro said in reply.

He paused in his motion.

"You seemed infatuated by your saber. Defend yourself..." He snarled, leaping around with his own saber suddenly ignited, and humming directly towards his apprentice's chest.

Laurio swung one of his sabers and deflected his masters and in one fluid movement twirled the second saber down on his masters back

Marix ignited the second blade of his staff saber, which sprung up neatly and blocked Laurio's oncoming blade. He grabbed a handful of dirt with the Force and flung it in the air at Laurio's face, blinding him. Then Marix leaped backwards, flipping out of the way of Laurio's flailing blades, only to charge back in, his silver blade held forward, the red blade now de-ignited once more.

He flicked his wrist and sent the silver blade straight into Laurio's first blade, knocking it out of the way. He swung his other hand in and punched his apprentice on the cheek.

"You need to forget your sabers. They are not your only weapons. You have the Force, your feet and hands, your mind... Use them all equally, develop all of your skills, and you will succeed."

"yes master" Laurio said rubbing his cheek
As he walked past his master he fell into a sweeping kick knocking him from his feet. He then grabbed his master and threw him against a nearby tree "Better?" he asked as a grin formed on his face as he remembered the mess fights with the orphans when he was a child

Laurio did as his master said and stood with his right arm extended and thought hard
he remembered the guards that bet him and kept harrassing him when he was a thief. "I am ready Master"

"Aim towards the target. Let your anger take over your power. Connect yourself to the Force, feel it surging through your body." Marix goaded Laurio on.

As he watched Laurion struggle with the new powers running through his body, Markaro remembered his own training under Brigadier General Matas, and his own learning of Sith Lightning.

"Unleash it!" He yelled suddenly. Laurion jumped and complied. A single bolt of electricity jumped from his palm to the target's vicinity. Laurio opened his eyes and looked at Marix, who was reading from the meter.

"Not bad for your first time. Now try it again."

Laurio couldn't beleive this was happening he was shooting lightning !
he felt amazed and tired at the same moment. He looked at the droids channeling his anger to his palm. he felt a surge and unleashed the force lightning at his enemies the guards he hated. he visualised the assasin droids as the guards and hit them with all the hate and anger in his chest that has been welling up in the years. as the lightning hit the droids he fell to one knee and recovered "i must have used too much energy than i should have" he thought to himself.
"is this up to your expectations master?" Laurio said.

"You must learn to control your power. Restrain your anger to serve your needs, do not let your hate command you, but rather command your hatred to do your bidding. Now aim at me, but do not let a bolt touch me. Have your lightning go around my body and merge behind me."

"Yes master i will try" Laurio said
Laurio aimed at his master. He felt the same as before exept this time he controlled it focusing on getting the lightning to go around his master and not touch him. when he was shooting the lightning as soon as it was about to hit his master it split into two strands and went around his master merging behind him into a ball of lightning and then dissapearing into a blue mist
"I did it master i did it! i didn't think i could do that!"

"Very good. The only way to further strengthen and perfect that power is practice. But that will be on your own, and at another time. Now for another power, the Telekinetic Powers.

"Close your eyes and reach out in the Force to the pebble at your feet. Learn about the pebble, know its shape, size, weight, color, and hardness with only the Force as your guide." Markaro said.

Laurio did as his master said and closed his eyes. He used the force to sense the ground. He felt a small pebble about 300 ish grams in weight easily liftable. It was shapped oddly though almost like a small boomerang. he pressed harder with the force using that to lift the pebble off the ground but it wasn't wotking very well. he let ho and Tried again Much harder this time lifting it up to about his face and dropping it once more "shall i suspend it in the air or drop it once more?" laurio asked his eyes still closed

"Lift it to your hands. Keeping your eyes closed, I want you to check if you were right about the pebble's shape. When you are done, try to lift the large boulder 100 yards out and throw it further away."

Marix walked into his ship for a moment to check up with the Military and see if anything urgent required his attention.

Laurio lifted the pebble withought effort and put out his hand. not used to moving something he cant see he missed his hand the first time but got it right the second time. "Hmm i wasn't exactly right master its more rounder than i thought". he dropped the pebble and searched for the boulder his eyes still closed. This proved more difficult as a nearby tree was attracting his attention more than the boulder. He focused hard and found the boulder. This was a very large boulder indeed almost over 10 pounds. "This will be difficult"he said. Using all the energy he could he lifted the boulder off the ground but dropped it again. "wha this is hard!". He tried again only to fail a second time. He thought hard. If he used all his energy picking it up how would he be able to throw it? . So he slowly used his energy lifting it off the ground slowly and then faster until it was 2 feet off the groung and using as musch energy as he could muster Pushed it off into the distance. Panting heavily he fell to one knee "done ...... master .....what next?"he said slowly

"yes master"Laurio said and he directed the IG-88's and the meter to the nearest empty cargo hold just in case he was needed, as he reached the cargo hold he ordered the droids to line up and tried to hit 2 at once then 3 eventually he could weild force lightning very well

Marix returned to the chamber, and saw Laurio resting. He took out his data-pad and entered a few commands. The IG-88's immediately turned to face Laurion, recognizing him as a threat. They had entered their modified mod, in which they used Force Lightning to power themselves, and not allow it to hurt them. Laurio would have to use his saber and wits to save himself.

Laurio saw the Droids targeting him and used force levitate to smash two of them together then he took out his two Lightsabers Snap hiss charged forward and sliced at the closest droid.

Marix sent a message through the Force.

"Remember to practice what you just learned."

Laurio Heard what his master said and when he was close to the last droid he fell into a sweeping kick. The droid was not prepared and fell. As the droid was falling Laurio swung around and stabbed the droid right through the core. It fell to the ground with a large metallic Crash
Laurio sat down and rested waiting for his master. He thought about what he had learned in this session.

Markaro stood and paced around his apprentice. Laurio appeared deep in thought. Marix respected that. He waited until Laurio was done, and then spoke.

"Do you feel confident in your abilities?"

Laurio finished thinking and was gratefull to his master for letting him finish.
"Im confident enough, i still need to grasp the fact that the force is so powerfull, I never imagined such power." Laurio stood and looked at the destroyed droids.
"Erm sorry about your droids master" he grinned slightly after saying this.

Supreme Commander Alor

"They were meant to train you, not to survive. Besides, your next task will be to fix them. Even as a Sith, you will be faced with challenges that will require you to not use the Force to aid you. And you will need to be able to work with droids and such. While the ship is in hyperspace, please repair the droids."

Markaro walked over to a crate and sat down to watch his apprentice, as well as communicate with High Commander Vexen about a few matters of importance to the Navy and Army.

"Ah well ive never fixed a droid before. But ill give it a shot." Laurio said.
Using the force laurio picked up the remains of one of the droids he used to throw at the others. It was in bad shape. The metal was bent and dented, the wiring was all over the place. Laurio sighed to himself and closed his eyes. He visualized the droid as it was before he threw it. He had to re-shape the droids metallic exo-skeleton. when that was done he looked at the droid and made a few more changes before he was satisfied.

Then he took the wiring and all the internal part's. This was the hardest part but most of it fitted well. After he had fixed the other two droids he looked at the one he had cut with his lightsaber.
"Sir im going to have to get a new core and body for this one its pretty damaged " Laurio said as he inspected the droid.

"Then scavenge the other droids to make one working droid."

Laurio looked at the other droids. One of them was damaged indeed so he took the plating from the chest and back off. He took out the core and looked at it . After a little while he had fixed the fourth droid and there were three working droids.
"Is there anything else i need to do master ?" laurio looked at Marix patiently.

Supreme Commander Alor

"You need to choose one that you feel is the best out of them now." Markaro replied. "Then you must accept that one as a gift from me, as we near the end of your training."

Markaro stretched out his hand and used the Force to turn the droids on. Immediately one exploded, its head turning into a smoking neck, while another started to randomly fire its blaster. Marix shut that one down.

"Looks like they narrowed your choices for you."

Laurio looked at the one droid still standing
"Thank you master your gift is very appreciated. I will look at this droid later and find out why the other two ended up like . . . . . . that." Laurio Bowed in gratitude.

"That is fine." Markaro replied. "Now tell me, do you feel that your training is complete?"

One of the greatest measurements of an apprentice's learning was his own feelings on the matter and how he came about those feelings. Too hasty an answer and he was not ready. Too long of thought, and he was not ready. But there was a point in between the two extremes that meant he was ready.

" I do not think i am ready. You have yet to test my skills outside of a training regime. everything we have done up untill now has been controlled by something. I think my skills should be tested by something ....... A mission perhaps but that is for you to decide as the master. " Laurio said. He sat in a nearby chair awaiting his masters response

Klaxons blared, coming to life as the massive ship left hyperspace.

"Seems like your mission is here." Markaro said." Go to the hangar bay, and meet up with the 501st's Torrent Company in the hangar. Captain Rex will give you your orders. You will hear from me only if things go bad."

Markaro then turned and headed to the bridge, to assume command.

"Yes sir" Laurio said and walked out the doors heading down the bridge to the hangar . He arrived in the hangar bay.
"Captain Rex , Supreme Commander Marix sent me . Orders?" Laurio waited for the Captain to reply

The Captain's armor, in fact most of the 501st's armor, was model off of the Clone Troopers that had originated the Legion. Upon assuming his office, Supreme Commander Marix had ordered the next generation of trooper armor, reverting many of its graphic features to those of the Clone Trooper armor. The design and functionality features were more advanced, up to date, but the aesthetics were reminiscent of the Clone Troopers, where Marix's inspiration had come from as he read the stories from those times, of Jedi leading Troops into combat, a perfect blend of Force and physical power.

"Just in time. We are about to launch. You are in command of Platoon B. Sergeant Tonlan will assist you."

Rex motioned to one of the troopers, who was holding an extra suit of armor.

"The Supreme Commander had these readied for you. Because of the time constraints, we will need to brief you on the move. So please put on the armor and helmet and we'll brief you through the HUD in the helmet."

Because Laurio was only wearing his leather armor it was easy to fit the other armor on . As soon as he put his helmet on he started studying the HUD .
He began to walk with the Captain and the Seargant
" So what's the situation Captain ? " Laurio said while he was fitting his belt to his waist making sure his saber's were easily accesable

Supreme Commander Marix sat on the bridge of the Star Destroyer, just watching Captain Jag direct the bridge crew to their tasks. They had entered into a politically volatile region of space. The previous ruler of the planet Corellia had recently been ousted by the CorSec Militant branch, throwing the planet into chaos. The Moff, Supreme Prophet Praxeum had requested the presence of the Sith Imperial Armed Forces, in case the diplomats could not diffuse the situation.

The Supreme Commander had greeted the request with courtesy and had personally agreed to watch over the planets security and safe keeping, as a training mission for his current apprentice, Laurio Blake. While the planet did have a Moff Defense Fleet, they were not always up to the standards of the Imperial Armed Forces active fleets, and might also be infiltrated by CorSec Militants, which would only make the situation worse.

"Captain, spread our Destroyers and Frigates in a fan around this side of the planet. Also, send 3 Frigates to protect the shipyards, they are priority level 2." Lord Marix ordered.

"Yes, mi'lord."

Darth Marix had brought 3 Venator-Class Star Destroyers, as well as 10 Hero-Class Frigates. He preferred the Venator over their larger counterparts for small skirmishes, where fighters are perhaps the key to winning and losing. The ability to divulge all of its fighters at once was a sharp edge to the blade of the fleet.

Within the Hangar Bay

"There has been a slight coupe with the CorSec and the Moff. We are here to provide loyal Military support to the Moff and the government." Captain Rex began. "Our priorities are the shipyards and the area around the capital. You, Laurio, will be with the squad going to the Capital. Your job will be to find and detain the CorSec rebels. Now get your group to the ground."

The LAAT/i's lifted off from the hangar floor and zoomed out of the Venator's massive hangar, speeding towards the planet and others towards it shipyards.
