High Mage Serratus

((Could you fill out your Order of choice differently, the honest chance of you successfully creating a new Order is approximately the same as me going on a drinking binge and vomiting up Zach Braff.))
Sadow

((I've edited my former post. This Order is my first choice, but I cannot guarantee I will stick to this first choice.))
High Mage Serratus

((The proper terminology here is the Inquistorius, the Courts is their public forum, but w/e, let's get on with the training.))

High Mage Serratus entered the training hall. It wasn't all that long ago that he and Aequitas had sat here and discussed the ways of the Force. He reached out with his Force presence and located his new apprentice. He strode slowly towards the young Gand.

"Sadow, let us begin."

He summoned the three metal spheres. Aequitas's training had left its impression.

"Manipulate these with the Force."
Sadow

((Edited my profile))

High Mage Serratus strolled towards him as he was waiting patiently for his master to near. Sadow watched his master summoning three metalic spheres and he ordered Sadow to do them.

"Yes master", the Gand obeyed.

Sadow tried to Force crush one of them, which he partially managed quite well. Another was thrown violently away with only a tiny gesture of the Gand's finger. The last disappeared into thin air. Obviously an illusion, because seconds later it vaguely appeared again as if it were a round cloud of greyish fog. Sadow straightened his back and relaxed his shoulders.
High Mage Serratus

((I can't seem to find your profile.))

Serratus grunted.

"This is child's play."

He called all three orbs back to him.

"Arm yourself."
Sadow

((hmmm, I meant what I had to fill out.))

Sadow equiped himself with a Mandalorian blade.
High Mage Serratus

((Ah yes. For argument's sake, where did a lowly Gand who spent some time as a Mandalorian get a lightsaber?))
Sadow

((lol I get your point. I found it near a skeleton in the desert of Gand. I took it and the Force made me ignite it. Then I decided I should not stick around on Gand and when the Mandalorian arrived I took the chance to join him and his people. The name of the Mandalorian was Captain Havok Isley by the way... now I remember. The Mandals gave me non-projectile training. One guy mastered Form V and he trained me with vibroblades. His name was Obric... I hid the lightsaber and never showed it to the Mandalores. I left Mandalore after I became a Lieutenant-Commander of their 3rd naval fleet. For more than a year I was the master of their first Academy on Abrion Major.))
High Mage Serratus

((I seriously doubt your chances of finding as intricate and rare a weapon as a lightsaber on Gand. For now, you will fight with a beskad like a real Mandalorian and you will be instructed in how to construct a lightsaber as part of your training.))
Sadow

((I guess you're right, it would be very convenient  ^_^. I will use 'Kad be Beskar', a katana like blade.))
High Mage Serratus

((Edit your post thusly and let us continue.))

Serratus smiled at the long blade in his apprentice's hands. Never fancied shortswords himself. Longswords, daggers, claymores but nothing in between. He raised his hands like a vorsnkr about to pounce.

"Are you ready?"
Sadow

"I'm ready as I ever will be, my master."

((why has Djinn been granted a higher rank, while he hadn't even begun his training...I saw Aequitas request his rank to be apprentice. What determines to get us a higher rank?))
High Mage Serratus

((The fact that you are being trained makes you an apprentice. It slipped my mind to make an RFA for your rank to be advanced, I've been very busy with exams and such.))

Serratus nodded and turned around, walking a few metres away from Sadow. He turned widdershins and held the orbs in the ait with the Force. He smiled beneath his visor.

"1...2...3...go!"

Serratus started rapidly barraging Sadow with the metal spheres. A few made contact before Sadow realised what was happening.

"DEFEND YOURSELF!"
Sadow

((Thanks and no problem, Serratus.
Just to inform you: http://thedarksithlords.myfreeforum.org/about1319.html))

That woke Sadow up in a flash. One of the first spheres hit him on the left shoulder. They came at him like blasts from a heavy projectile weapon.
The humanoid Gand slashed his blade around destroying the orbs. His blade sang a high tone with every hit. Sadow had to use Force push on occasions to stop the orbs from hitting his face. His black robes wavered around like a dark flower in a storm. Breathing was calm, but sweat apeared.
"Master, you push me hard!" Sadow smiled and continued trying to defend himself.
Sadow

((Here you can find my profile, which is still under construction: http://thedarksithlords.myfreeforum.org/about4379.html
Feel free to comment or criticise. Thanks Serratus.))
High Mage Serratus

((Master Serratus.))

Serratus smiled.

"Yes I do."

He levitated the tiny pieces of the spheres with the Force. With a twitch of his hands, they too started barraging Sadow at an extremely high speed, far faster than the three spheres, pointier too and much smaller and harder to hit.

"DEFEND YOURSELF!"
Sadow

Sadow opened his eyes wide, he didn't even have time to think and hardly time to dodge these scraps of metal. Almost instinctively Sadow rose his hand and with the Force he dimished their speed. Slashing and dodging away he managed to survive the ordeal his master let him go through.

((I have altered my profile.))
High Mage Serratus

((Very...good?))

Serratus's eyes rolled beneath his vizor. Finally, some sort of Force instinct. Sadow's theatrics earlier were typical of any amateur Force user and Sadow no doubted picked them up from the findsmen of his homeworld. What Serratus had been looking for was some sign that Sadow was in sync with the Force on some level, and he had found it.

"Acceptable."

With a wave of his hand, the shards reassembled into the three spheres. They disappeared as quickly as he had summoned them and he drew his rancor-tooth lightsaber from his belt. He had laboriously carved intricate designs onto the hilt. With a satisfying snap-hiss, the silvery-lilac blade emerged from the hilt.

"Ready yourself for combat."
Sadow

"Yes Master" Sadow readied his blade and assumed a dueling position.
High Mage Serratus

Serratus charged forward at his apprentice and raised the lightsaber high above his head before changing course and ducking low while spinning, aiming at Sadow's legs.
Sadow

Sadow felt the Force flow through his body and brains. He Force jumped in the air, barely evading the attack of his master.
High Mage Serratus

Serratus reached up and grabbed Sadow's ankle, deftly tossing him across the room.
Sadow

Sadow got up, readying himself for another attack of his master.
High Mage Serratus

Serratus wielded the Force mightily and threw his saber at Sadow while simultaneously drawing the double-bladed lightsaber he claimed from Tanya Secura.
Sadow

The beam of light raced toward the humanoid Gand. Sadow quickly stepped aside, stuck out his hand and luckily caught the hilt with the silvery-lilac blade. "Yaj" He didn't catch it without flaw so the beam scorched the tip of his right thumb.
Now that he held a lightsaber for the first time in his life, Sadow was bedazzled for a split second. Shook up by the sudden thought of vaguely recalling his master drawing a double-bladed lightsaber, he concentrated on the High Mage.
Sadow's blood rushed through his vains with excitement.
High Mage Serratus

Serratus spun the lightsaber around his arms like a baton as he charged before ducking into a lowspin and then springing up into the air and spinning towards Sadow like a tornado with a lightsaber.
Sadow

Sadow backed off as far as he could.
High Mage Serratus

Serratus landed slightly sort of Sadow but hurled the double-bladed lightsaber at Sadow's feet using his excess momentum before drawing his twin beskad and charging forward, trapping his apprentice between his lightsaber and his knives.
Sadow

"You've trapped me, master." Sadow whispered, and he tried to pull a mind trick on the High Mage to escape the tight position he was in. Sadow knew it would prove pointless, but the Gand had to fight with whatever Force power available until his master would be satisfied about his accomplishments.
High Mage Serratus

Serratus smiled once again behind his vizor before stopping his lightsaber with the Force and summoning it and all his other weapons back.

"Acceptable. Soon you will duel one of my subordinates, a Sith known as Darth Ultiria. But first, we must construct you a lightsaber."

Serratus took out his datapad and wrote down some directions. He made a copy of the file and transferred it to a blank datapad which he handed to Sadow.

"Take this datapad. One should always have something to carry information in. This contains directions to the store room where lightsaber parts are kept. Go there and bring them here."
Sadow

"Thank you, my master".
Sadow accepted the datapad gratefully and left right away to get the parts he needed.
After a short search he arrived at the storage room. Sadow searched through containers to find the materials he needed to create a curved hilt. He also found a number of crystals, but Sadow's knowledge of crystals was pretty bad. He took some clear crystals, an adegan lens, a few emitters and other materials that were on his datapad and then he returned to his master without stalling.
"Master Serratus, I brought back the parts you ordered."
High Mage Serratus

Seeing the crystal in Sadow's hand, Serratus probed it before finding a weak point and shattering it into many tiny pieces.

"Forget the crystal for now."
Sadow

"Master, that wasn't the only one..."
Sadow reached in his pocket and gave three other crystals to the High Mage.
High Mage Serratus

Serratus likewise crushed these. He handed Sadow a schematic.

"Study these plans and commit them to memory. They are what you will need to create a lightsaber."
Sadow

Sadow was a bit stunned to see his master crush the jewels, but he followed the orders his master gave him without hesitation.
High Mage Serratus

When sufficient time had passed, Serratus took the schematics back from Sadow.

"Now, I need you to sit down on the ground with your legs crossed. Like so."

Serratus folded down like a scizzorlift with great difficulty.
Sadow

Sadow obeyed his master and sat down, crossed his legs.
High Mage Serratus

Serratus nodded with approval.

"Now, close your eyes. Feel the power of the Force. Do not flinch from it, but let it completely engulf you. Then inhale, and breathe in not only that air but the Force itself, fill yourself with its power until you are at peace. At that point reach out through the Force and raise the pieces of the lightsaber into the air."
Sadow

Closing his eyes, Sadow contemplated his training for a moment. He was glad this master was willing to train him, and it all felt very right. The High Mage's education felt very right.
But he cleared his mind and focussed on the Force, obeying his master.

After about 20 minutes the parts he collected from the storage area began to float through the air. They seemed to have lost their gravity.
Sadow was in tune with the Force and its power filled his mind and body.
High Mage Serratus

Serratus watched as, under Sadow's guidance, the pieces drifted together. Just before the construction was complete, he ripped the pieces apart and summoned them back to his hand.

"Very well. Now for the most important part, the crystal."

Serratus waved his hand and several crystals appeared before him. They started orbiting him before stopping. He indicated the first crystal, a deep blood red.

"This is a Quixoni crystal."

He continued through the rest of the cycle, indicating a piece of Barab Ore, a Hurrikaine crystal, a Sigil, a Phond, a Luxum and finally a canyon krayt dragon pearl.

"Take your pick of three. I find dual-phase blades to be highly effective."
Sadow

"Of course, master. I will pick the Qixoni, the Barab Ore and the Sigil crystal.
I will start my meditation on these.
"
High Mage Serratus

"Ah, so he catches on."

Serratus nodded his approval.
Sadow

After days of meditation on the crystals, Sadow looked up to his master.
"What is next, my master?"
High Mage Serratus

Serratus awoke from his trance to see that his apprentice had finished his meditation.

"Now it is a simple matter of constructing your lightsaber. The blade produced will be a deep, shimmering red, a true Sith lightsaber."
Sadow

Closing his eyes again, Sadow focussed his mind on the Force. This time the black polished metal parts and the crystals began to float sooner as they did before. The early practice which was interrupted by his master, clearly paid off.
The parts all moved through the air, searching the right order for the momentum where they would become as one. Slowly but surely they moved. Closing in, fitting, like it was prefabricated.

Finally it was there. Sadow opened his eyes, seeing his saber, a curved hilt, floating through the air.
High Mage Serratus

Serratus nodded his approval.

"Very good my apprentice. Now."

Serratus drew his own lightsaber.

"Follow my lead."

He started moving through the basic moves of Form I, Shii Cho, while Sadow mimiced as best he could. Several hours later, Serratus had to say he was impressed with Sadow's progress.

"You are quick to learn. But you are not yet as skilled as the average apprentice. I want you to go to the Dojo and challenge my fellow Mage, Darth Ultiria, to a duel. She will show you the true power of the Sith, for she is gifted with the lightsaber. Go now and do combat but observe Ultiria's movements and they will give you an idea of what else we will have to cover."
Sadow

"Yes, my master." With a hiss, the dark red beam of his lightsaber vanished and Sadow attached the hilt to his belt.
"I will go see Darth Ultiria right away."
With a fast pace, Sadow left for the Dojo.
