Training Duel (Darth Ultiria - Sadow)

Who: Darth Ultiria
What: Lightsabers and the Force
Where: The ruins of the Sith Citadel on Ziost.
When: Just after dawn, when the morning sun is almost blinding reflected against the white snow.

((as requested by my master, the high mage Serratus))
Darth Ultiria

((It would be nice if I was asked first... but whatever, I accept.))

Jerina looked around at the ruins of the old Sith capital of Ziost. She wandered slowly, her head up, dressed in a simple tank top and shorts, her boots crunching in the snow. Her curved saber dangled freely from its clip, as she waited for the apprentice she was to duel.
Sadow

(((I'm sorry, Ultiria. I should have asked you, but I thought that Serratus already contacted you.)))

He approached the young Sith woman, named Jerina Ultiria, a Sith Acolyte but apperently a master with sabers.
Sadow was wearing simple black robes and he held the curved hilt of his saber in his right hand. With a hiss the saber ignited and a red glow lit up the air around the beam.
"What a wonderful Ziost morning, don't you think my lady?"
Sadow inhaled the cold air and warmed up it left his mouth again.
"I'm honoured to meet you for this training duel, Darth Ultiria."
Darth Ultiria

Jerina nodded. "And I you, Sadow." She walked forward a few paces and turned around, the Force warming her blood. Her curved saber came to life and she saluted, before dropping into a fighting stance and waiting.
Sadow

Although Sadow knew he was going to get whooped, he moved cautiously towards her, raising his saber. He concentrated to tune into the Force.
High Mage Serratus

((Sorry Ultiria, I wasn't thinking. If no one else is offering, I'll GM but I don't want to be biased.))
Sadow

(((I'm okay with that.)))
Darth Ultiria

((Go ahead. I'm sure you'll be fine. Though you know what my duels are like Wink))

Jerina twirled her blade, it's unique design causing many different patterns in the air. Finally, when Sadow was close enough, she lunged, her blade pointing down.
Sadow

The red blade of Sadow hissed through the air, trying to parry the blow of the blonde female. In a way the humanoid Gand didn't care if he lost. His senses all in tune with the Force, but this Sith woman intrigued him, distracted him. He remembered his master Serratus' teachings. As he focussed his thoughts on the duel, he incanted a litany to constrain his emotions. No wonder this was a master in dueling. Her movements with the lightsaber and her body were enchanting. "Your magic is very much like what our ancestors practised, Lady Ultiria. It is cruel." Sadow's eyes twinkled like the stars. Ziost had always been his home. He so much enjoyed this duel in the snow.
Darth Ultiria

"I practise no magic, apprentice. Only the blade." Ultiria smiled as she pivoted around, lashing out at random only to draw her blade back. Sadow was kept on the defensive, keeping his blade close to parry her attacks - if only she made them. She was waiting to see if he made an attack on her.
Sadow

"You practise magic with your movements and body for those who are weak to the beauty of the flesh."
Suddenly Sadow lashed his saber at her in a backspinning movement.
Darth Ultiria

Ultiria let out a laugh as she dashed backwards, blocking the attack and instantly riposting with her own. When her enemy backed off as well she regarded him with a glint in her eye. "Was that a compliment?" She grinned, before letting loose a barrage of Force Lightning.
Sadow

He stretched out his hand, diverted the Force lighting, lowered his guard and waited for her next attack.
"Yes it was a compliment, I'm just checking if you can be charmed..." Sadow stretched his fingers hurling a Force push at his temporary teacher.
Darth Ultiria

Ultiria blocked it with her own, they were now pushing against one another, a battle of wills.

"Well I can be charmed, but so what?"
Sadow

Sadow was having a hard time keeping concentrated on the duel, which was most important at this hour. Using the Force was a newly acquired skill and he still had so much to learn.
Focussing was hard. Especially with a beautiful Sith lady to duel.
But he enjoyed exploring Ultiria's mind. She had an attractive mind. "If you can be charmed, you can be distracted.."
Darth Ultiria

Jerina knew Sadow was not focusing, and she decided to prove him wrong. Lunging with blinding speed she cut to his head, took the riposte, then compound feinted, scoring a hit on his arm. Just because she was feeling harsh she pivoted and cut his bottom.

With a smile she leaped back as Sadow registered that he was now in a fair amount of pain, and he looked at her. She simply smiled. "I think you are the distracted one."
Sadow

((to claim that I'm in pain and that I looked at you, smells of godmoding my dear))
Sadow smiled. "I merely implied that you can be distracted, not that you are distracted."
The humanoid Gand invited her to attack him again.
Darth Ultiria

((I'm not saying you're crippled or anything... it just hurts a bit. Godmodding would be if I just said "She went up to Sadow and cut his head off.))
High Mage Serratus

((I concur with Ultiria. Please continue the duel. And I don't know if Darth Ultiria was bothered by it, but I certainly was; referring to a superior by "my dear" in an RP situation is not acceptable behaviour for an apprentice.))
Sadow

(("my dear" was said in OOC so what's the problem? I said it between parenthesis right? and I'm sorry but I'm used to much more strict rules concerning godmoding. Anything you say about another persons characters' state is considered godmoding. But I will go with the flow of the SL at this point. Just explain to me what will be acceptable.))
High Mage Serratus

((Whether it was done between parentheses or not is irrelevant, you as an apprentice should only address a superior with such familiarity in the Sith Errata section of the forum.

What Ultiria did was not godmodding, in that she didn't drastically affect the position of your character or tip the scales in favour of her or a situation that would play in her favour.

Now please continue the duel.))
Sadow

Sadow smiled. "I merely implied that you can be distracted, not that you are distracted."
The humanoid Gand invited her to attack him again.
Sadow

*bump*
Darth Ultiria

((Sorry, been really busy at school))

Ultiria smiled sweetly. "Anyone can be distracted."

She picked up a clump of plaster with the Force and threw it at him, and lunged with her saber angling up, towards his face.
Sadow

((No problem, Ultiria. RL is more important))

Sadow only managed just barely to divert the peace of plaster using the Force and sweat appeared on his bold head. He did his best to defend himself against the vicious saber heading for his nose.
Darth Ultiria

((Done my exam so I should be back properly))

Sadow managed to avoid the blade heading for his face, but that was not Ultiria's intended target. She span her lightsaber round so it was now pointing down towards his chest and lightly dragged her saber across his flesh.
Sadow

((cool, how did it go?))
Although Sadow's flesh was scorched by the saber of Darth Ultiria, his intent was to attack her arm. While her saber struck his flesh, Sadow's saber cut through Ultirias skin. Just a scratch. He grinned.
High Mage Serratus

((Now who's godmodding? Edit that post to remove the part about completely disabling her lightsaber arm.))
Sadow

((I only cut one muscle... she can still use her arm, Master.))
High Mage Serratus

((So if you slice her biceps in half, she can still bend her arm, is that what you're trying to say?))
Sadow

((if it will please you I will edit my post. I was thinking that I cut one of her muscles in her forearm, not her entire biceps lol))
High Mage Serratus

((All muscles are needed for the arm to properly function. It's like taking sunshine out of the water cycle, you need every muscle for the arm to move. So no matter what muscle you slice your way through, you're disabling her ability to wield a lightsaber. Even if you just slice through one of the extensor muscles of the forearm, she can't use her wrist properly, she can't grip her lightsaber properly, etc. Slicing through a muscle is just as much godmodding as slicing her arm off.))
Sadow

((I guess that was too harsh, I edited my post.  Wink  ))
Darth Ultiria

((It went okay, I guess. Won't know results for ages. It was a drama exam, btw))

She hissed, baring her teeth into a devilish grin. Stroking her finger across the small blood well she placed it into her mouth and beckoned him on.
Sadow

((drama? cooool))

One quick step forward combined with a Force push, Sadow tried to unbalance his fierce opponent. Right after he lashed out his saber at her, directing all his hatred on his muscles to excellerate the speed and strength of the blows. He felt so good using the dark side of the Force.
Darth Ultiria

((I hate drama -.-))

Ultiria relished in the Dark Side as Sadow unleashed his fury, making her stronger. She staggered back, but as he came forward, she broke her feigned look of pain and leapt at him. She swept him to the floor with her feet and pointed her saber at his neck. The duel was over.

Smiling, she helped him to his feet. "You fight well," she said. "Your master would be proud."
High Mage Serratus

"He is."

Serratus emerged from the shadows.

"You fought well and were bested by one of the Empire's finest warriors. Thank you for your assistance Jerina. You may return to your Mage duties forthwith."

Serratus walked past his subordinate and turned to his apprentice.

"Go and have your wounds treated, then meet me at the Sith Temple on Dxun. Your final test will be waiting there."

Serratus swept from the ruins and headed back to the Space Dragon. He had final preparations to make.
Sadow

((lol okay))

Sadow smiled at the woman when she helped him. He nodded with respect. "Thank you, my dark lady." Sadow's master appeared from the shadows and gave the apprentice new orders.
"Yes, my master, will do." He put the hood of his robe over his bear skull and walked away.
