Training Duel with Darth Crozeus((As part of my training, I have been ordered to fight Darth Crozeus.

What: Two lightsabers of any type, no Force.
Why: Training.
Who: Darth Crozeus))

High Prophet Crozeus
|
((OK then.))
Darth Crozeus, Dark Warrior of the Church, walked briskly into the dojo, shunting aside a droid who got in his path. He came to a halt in the centre, scanning the area with his mind, looking for ambush. He was to duel the apprentice of the High Prophet, a human named Glathn Long. It hadn't been long since he had duelled in the dojo, nor had it been long since he had duelled an apprentice. He hoped that this fight would be more interesting.
Crozeus remembered the criterea and threw his robe and double bladed lightsaber aside. He began stretching, while contemplating how his new opponent would fight. He knew that he used a specially developed style he named 'Gor Dan' using chain-shotos. Crozeus would have to develop his style accordingly, and he had already forumlated just how he was going to do that.
Crozeus carried on stretching as he waited for his opponent, ignoring the crowd of younglings.

Glathn walked into the dojo, the small jewels on the gold netting of his garment clinging together ominously. In one hand was his saberstaff, with two Quixoni crystals it could extend to a terrifying length. In the other was his chain-shoto, shorter in all dimensions but a nonetheless dangerous weapon.
"Dark Warrior Crozeus, greetings."

Crozeus studied his opponent carefully. Garish, he mused.
"Greetings indeed, apprentice. I hope you are ready to learn that the Church is not all about the Force."
He ignited his short ruby lightsaber, saluting traditionally before stepping back into the defensive style of Form I, or Shii-Cho.

Glathn smiled and put himself into a Makashi opening stance with his saberstaff brought into a low guard in one hand, while his other hand was placed into the position it would have occupied had Glathn been using only Gor Dan, extending straight outwards, holding the hilt in one hand while the shoto dangled on the golden chain.
|
High Prophet Crozeus
|
Crozeus didn't move. It was clear to him what to do, and he had to draw the apprentice in. He merely beckoned.

|
(Forgot to mention, sabers set to stun.)
Glathn knew that Crozeus wanted him to make the first move. And he did. Switching quickly from Makashi to Ataru, Glathn leapt forward and sheathed his shoto before swinging at Crozeus's head with the hilt like a flail while simultaneously bringing his saberstaff down in a swooping arc onto Crozeus's shoulder.

Crozeus grinned and pushed his blade up at a quent angle, sidestepping to avoid the blade coming at his shoulder. With his free hand he punched Glathn in the chest, before lightly stepping away and resuming Shii-Cho with an amused glint in his eyes, which remained blue.

Glathn almost literally fell on to Crozeu's oncoming fist. He had a split second to roll over and let his ribs take the hit rather than his chest plate, to avoid being winded. He fell to the ground and rolled over a couple of times before rising in a very low stance. He threw his chain-shoto at the feet of Darth Crozeus before rising and charging into a slashing motion against his opponent's chest.

|
Crozeus reacted on instinct as soon as he saw Glathn draw his arm back, the Force giving him a split second's image of what he would do. He cartwheeled sideways, avoiding the chain-shoto, and took the saberstaff on his own blade. The two were balanced in strength, and it became a contest of will, as neither could use the Force.

Glathn pushed against Crozeus's blade. Both were inhumanly strong, Crozeus's natural strength against Glathn's Hoth-honed hunting muscles.
|
High Prophet Crozeus
|
Crozeus decided it was time to take control of the fight. He leaned back, launching out a vicious kick to the same place as he had punched. Not letting Glathn recover, Crozeus switched forms to Juyo and began a ferocious attack on the apprentice, trying to prise open his opponent's obvious advantage in defense by having two blades.

Glathn felt the kick but he took it well and recovered quickly, parrying most of Crozeus's blows, taking one to the hip. Before Crozeus could mount a second assault, he leapt over the other Sith and retrieved his chain-shoto before attacking on his own terms, the chain-shoto flailing, whip-like, like the tail of a greater krayt all the while bringing his saberstaff over and back in X-motions.
|
High Prophet Crozeus
|
Crozeus jumped backwards suddenly and rolled. He came up swiftly and leaped a few more paces back until he was at a comfortable distance. He judged carefully, and then threw his saber at the apprentice, careful not to use the Force to guide it as he would have done normally. The ruby blade span in a perfect vertical angle, straight towards Glathn.

Glathn saw the blade flying towards him and decided he had two choices. He didn't bother deciding what the choices were, he only knew that he took the second one. He backflipped and simultaneously threw his chain-shoto at Crozeus. Crozeus's lightsaber flew beneath him, barely missing his back. Glathn landed on his feet and stopped Crozeus's lightsaber with his own saberstaff. The force of the spin could have broken an arm, but Glathn held the saberstaff dual-handed and Crozeu's lightsaber fell to the ground. Glathn picked up Crozeus's lightsaber. He now had two weapons he could use easily and familiarly, while Crozeus would be either hit by the spinning chain-shoto or be forced to fight on with the chain-shoto, a weapon he had never used or even seen prior to this battle.

High Prophet Crozeus
|
Crozeus fliched aside from the shoto, before grabbing it as it flew past. He looked at it for a moment before looking at Glathn who held his lightsaber. He grinned and his eyes flashed red, just for an instant.
"You think I would come so unprepared?" He called.
He slid another lightsaber from a wrist holster, switching it on with its familiar snap-hiss and admiring its violet glow, and normal length compared to his short one, which Glathn now held. He then cut off the emitter matrix off the chain shoto. He thought this was a bit harsh, but it would be easily fixed, as there was no damage to anything that couldn't be easily replaced.
Crozeus decided to match the cocky apprentice, and gave him the traditional Makashi salute, bringing the blade close to his face before forming an X in the air, and then bringing the blade to his side.

Glathn's eye twitched as Crozeus destroyed the emmiter matrix. The fact that it was an easily replaced part was irrelevant, he had damaged his chain-shoto, his property, unnecessarily. The Dragon came to him in his mind.
"Do it."
Glathn smiled manically at Crozeus before throwing the short lightsaber in his hand at its owner. However, unlike Crozeus, Glathn ran after the lightsaber, keeping pace. Glathn had thrown it underhanded and now everytime the blade came back to him, he knocked it with the blade of his saberstaff which he spun around, transfering it from hand to hand, the spin of the staff in perfect time with the spin of the saber, causing the saber, the staff and Glathn himself to rapidly gain speed, momentum and power as they all charged towards Crozeus.
|
High Prophet Crozeus
|
Crozeus laughed out loud. His eyes now gleamed red, redder than his lightsaber. Here was an apprentice, clearly possessed, charging him as if he was an equal. He needed to be put in his place, especially if he was to join the Church. Crozeus simply jumped lightly to the side. The speed that Glathn was running at made it impossible for him to turn, and Crozeus gave him a light hit with his saber as he flew past, not enough to inhabilitate him, merely to sting. Crozeus bounced on the balls of his feet and flourished his lightsaber as he laughed again.

((Possessed? The Dragon is assumed by those who know of it to be schizophrenia and believed by Glathn to be exactly what it tells him, an astral incarnation of Glathn's best and worst features. At no point does the Dragon possess Glathn, it merely advises him. Also, there is generally no noticable sign of the Dragon's presence, except for a slight ripple in the Force, which will be explained in a further personal RP.))
Glathn saw Crozeus's move, but too late. He quickly hacked the spinning lightsaber to pieces and kept running. He ran up a wall in front of him and backflipped off, but landed awkwardly and snapped his ankle. Glathn didn't cry out in pain but contained it as best he could. Grunting and groaning, he slowly rose to his feet and turned to Darth Crozeus. He raised his saberstaff challengingly and smiled as he realised that he and Crozeus had both damaged one another's lightsabers. Then he bowed to a skill greater than his own and stood, lopsided, waiting for Crozeus's next attack, deciding to finish this on his two feet rather than submit.

((I, as in the person sitting at the PC typing this, knows about what the Dragon is. Crozeus, on the other hand, doesn't. He was just reacting on your "manic smile".))
Crozeus admired the apprentice who stood before him, despite the pain radiating off him in waves. He knew of Sith Lords who could fight on even if they lost a limb, or worse, turning the pain into strength. Glathn would have to learn that, as Crozeus had suffered far more than a broken ankle during his own application for the Church.
Crozeus watched him for some moments, the red fire in his eyes slowly fading and changing to their usual blue. He loved duelling, the exhileration it wrought, and almost wished it had gone on for longer.
He lunged forward, batted the limp saberstaff aside and slashed Glathn across the chest. The saber setting would knock him out for a few hours. Crozeus brought pieces of his lightsaber to him and put them into a pouch on his belt. He beckoned a medical droid who effortlessly lifted the motionless apprentice and carried him out. Crozeus put his robe on and pushed his saber into his wrist holster. He looked at the pieces of Glathn's, and sent them after the droid. At least it would give him something to do while the bacta healed.
Crozeus looked into the crowd for a second, and then marched briskly from the dojo to the training grounds. He had work to do.
