A wiki for the sites has been created and since DSL and Rebels are sister sites, this should be posted here as well. We now have our own wiki to place things in.

I will give a tutorial of how to use fanon

1. Open two internet pages and set one to the fanon page and the other to the wookipedia page.

2.On the fanon page, type the name of the thing you wish create. Use the official name, not a nickname or anything else. If the name of what you wish to make has been taken, type Name of thing (Rebels) or (DSL).

3a. Go to the wookipedia page and if you log in, on the search, type a random word, like cba or something, It should send you to a page that says Search results. Find the red link that says create this page and click it. It will send you to a creating page. Find Standard preloads (select a template to preload its contents): and next to it there is a thing you click and gives you lots of options. Click which one you want and copy the format that appears. Paste it on the fanon page.

3b. If the format you want does not appear, search on wookipedia an organization, character, or item that is of what you want. Ex. if you want to create a government, search Galactic Empire or another government and go to the bottom of the profile box. Click on the Source button and it will send you to a template, copy the template and paste it on your fanon create page. Do the same for anything else.

4.Type in the information on the profile and remember to click preview before you save it. Use == Category == to create a large category for example. Biography, History, Characteristics, behind the Scenes, or other, Use === Sub Category === below a larger ccategory. This is used as a smaller subcategory. Ex. In Galactic Empire, Origin, Imperialization, and The Dark Times is an example of this.

5.Always type this at the bottom of the profile, [[The Rebels and DSL Forums]]. You can place it in other existing Categories or a created on by adding below the last category, [[Category: Name of Category]].

6.Links: If you want to link something to something else, use [[Name of thing]], if you wish to link it to for example Zabrak on wookipedia use this [[starwars:Zabrak|Zabrak]]. If you wish for the word to say something different like ex.He was the [[starwars:Luke Skywalker|son]] of Anakin Skywalker, it will say on the page, He was the son of Anakin Skywalker. Use it the same to change words. Copy this thing | it is very useful.

7. If you feel confused of something or are not sure of how to do something do this, go to other items on fanon and wookipedia and click on the edit button and click preview. Study of how it is typed and how it looks. If you have more questions do not be afraid to ask me.

Use it to put whatever of your character you want in it.

Go to http://darksithlords.wikia.com and if you have an account [on Wikia.com] post something positive, saying you'll be actively editing and updating [or something that will help us get a Wiki].

Marix, perhaps you missed the boat on this Wikipedia stuff, but DSL does not condone it as we would have a harder time regulating a user's ability to put they posess ten Death Stars and some poor soul beliving it canon.

I guess I was never around for that memo. Actually, the Wiki has been created.

And as for your concerns, One can always edit the pages, and I think those who care enough to make one, will not be the kinds to give themselves ten DeathStars [except Prognie and I'll just watch his page]

No, you don't seem to understand, it wasn't a request. DSL is not sponsoring a Wikipedia movement. As the forum's owner, that's my call, and not yours. There is a basis for me to contact Wikipedia and have them shut it down, but I would prefer you do it yourself and let us avoid all the red tape.

DSL does not have to sponsor it then. For a Wiki to exist does not mean that the target sponsors it. But if you feel that way, then the Wiki has been created for those characters/users who wish to post their information elsewhere, not just as a monopoly of the site/forum.

I retain the copyrights of DSL as the owner of the intellectual label. I've studied up on internet law. This forum discourages its users from participating and any user who does so will face any measure of response the staff feels necessary to enforce the existing ban.

Marix, your creation is entwined with this forum. Putting information elsewhere is of course permissible, but it is not going to be endorsed or permitted when data is stored for viewing here. Another repository outside direct control of the DSL staff is not necessary and will not be tolerated as the new data collection service of this forum.

Perhaps you're missing the point Will, Marix isn't looking for endorsement, but pointing out where other members of this forum may also post information on their characters.

Really, because the point seems to be missed in this entire crusade that DSL needs no extra-site storage facility when adequate concessions are made HERE for data storage and character glorifcation. I seem to remember a nasty episode of Matas inventing an entire Zabrak Imperium that people thought was canon when I had no clue what it was until it started appearing in roleplays as a force answerable to a user because he wrote about it on Wikipedia, therefore it MUST be true.

Not on my watch, kids. I've expressed the official forum policy. Anyone in violation of this shall be dealt with.

As such, further discussion is not neeced in this thread. Locked.
