Zanaku Dagana Dueling testZanaku entered the temple of the Sith. He was at first unimpressed by it's design and architecture. It did however house an enormous dark side presence in the force. He entered and walked to the center of the room where duels were held. He sat and meditated as he await his opponent.

Lord Aequitas
|
The High Prophet walked calmly into the huge, imposing Dojo. He had not been here before, and was excited about the upcoming dual with a young apprentice.
As he walked into one of the chambers, he noticed a young man dressed in white.
"Are you Zanaku cor Dagana?", he asked with a sly grin.

"It is so." Zanaku replied. He was excited that he would finally get to fight a Sith Master. He had heard of their skills and battle prowess and anticipated fighting one since the day he joined the Sith. "You are Darth Aequitas if I'm not mistaken?" Zanaku asked the man who had shown up.
|
Lord Aequitas
|
Aequitas smiled at the young apprentice. “Yes, I am. However, I have recently become the new High Prophet of the Church.”
Aequitas took off his robes and drew his lightsaber. “I am looking forward to this, I’ve heard much about you.”

Zanaku was curious about this statement. "What have you heard?" He inquired. Zanaku drew out his own saber and activated it. It shot forth it's Nocturne colored blade and he saluted his opponent to show respect before their match began. He awaited his opponents first move.
|
Lord Aequitas
|
"Of your battle against Darth Malice", Aequitas stated firmly.
With that he saluted with his already drawn lightsaber.
Aequitas ran at the apprentice and as he was about the attack, used Force Push on the young apprentice.
Aequitas got a kick out of duelling, even if he did it infrequently.

Not expecting the Force Push, Zanaku went soaring through the air. He used the momentum to rotate his body so that he landed against the wall with his feet, then pushed off with his body weight. Once landing and rolling from his rebound he used the force to shoot lightning from his fingers and braced for the attack of Aequitas.

Lord Aequitas
|
The force lightning barely missed Aequitas. However, it did burn his cheek.
He then used the force to launch himself in the air and as he descended, used his own Force Lightning.

The force lightning from Aequitas was deflected from Zanaku by the Nocturne blade of his lightsaber. The lightning was stronger than Zanaku anticipated however and had weakened him slightly. Zanaku instead decided that the true test would be in blade combat and he assumed his stance as he awaited Aequitas next move.
|
Lord Aequitas
|
"Enough, it is clear we should finish this fight by sword"
Aequitas then used the Force to draw Dagana in closer so as to start a real fight.
He bowed once more, and stood at a defensive stance.

Using the already significant momentum of the pull, Zanaku waited until the correct distance from his opponent, then thrust his blade out from his side.
|
Lord Aequitas
|
((I've assumed the defensive position, you attack first))

[I already thrust at you]
|
Lord Aequitas
|
((Right, read the post wrong then))
As Zanaku thrust at him, Aequitas blocked it easily. He then swung at Zanaku's head barely missing him. Aequitas backflipped off a wall and landed on the other side of Zanaku.

Spinning on his heel Zanaku swung the blade around and connected the two sabers in a lock. Both struggling to overpower the other, Aequitas began to gain the upper hand. The lightning from before had been a bigger toll than anticipated on Zanaku.
|
Lord Aequitas
|
Aequitas started to grind his teeth. The two sabres were now in a lock; fortunately he was beginning to have the upper hand. He could see that the young apprentice was getting weaker.
As the lock intensified, sweat started to pour out of Aequitas. Aequitas Force Pushed the young apprentice, but held him in the air. He began to force choke Zanaku, letting the apprentice fall to the ground so he could continue the fight.

Zanaku knew that it was almost over as he could feel the strength waning from him. The choke had almost ended him in the fight until Zanaku had focused on and channeled the pain. Zanaku now resorted to his true style of combat with a lightsaber. He sent several short but precise cuts and swipes in Aequitas direction and then ended with a stab.

Lord Aequitas

Aequitas narrowly missed getting stabbed by the young apprentice. He was beginning to tire of this battle. He decided to appeal the apprentice by engaging again in a sabre lock. As the two were concentrating on the lock, Aequitas pulled out his pistol and held it against Zanaku. He did not however, pull the trigger.

Knowing that he could not defend against a pistol at this range, Zanaku spoke, "I yield, for you have outsmarted me." Defeated he turned off his saber and kneeled before the Sith Master.
|
Darth Malice
|
Malice watched the two Sith battle from the shadows. He had masked his presence in the dark hall and was completely unnoticed by the beings locked in battle before him.
He stood in the corner, his body shrouded in a cloak of midnight black. The only visible features were the two piercing red eyes that looked on. His arms were crossed in front of him and he remained expressionless for the entirety of the duel.
When Dagana yielded, Bane's eyes ignited in an orange hue. If he would teach this Sith one thing, it would be victory or death. It had been something he'd already discussed with him and apparently his apprentice did not find truth in his words.
Gabriel emerged from the shadows and now stood across from the two Sith. "Very good Aequitas. You have done well and dominated your inferior opponent. Now.....leave us." The dark Sith Master then turned his attention to the defeated Apprentice.
"That was inadequate even for your first duel. Even if you're opponent was a first degree master." Bane walked around Dagana, who stood in the center of the circle. His voice was low, but seemed to shake the very walls they stood within.
"You WILL heed my word Apprentice." Bane stopped in front of Dagana and looked the young Sith over. "No blood.......no broken bones......yet you yield."

"If you had not stepped in my master, you would have seen that it woud not have been a true yield. The instant he turned his back my saber would have been activated and at his throat. It was simply a means of him lowering his superior defenses.", Zanaku replied. He had no intention to surrender whatsoever, as the tactic was more to fool the opposition into underestimating him, then it was to stab the Sith Master in the back.
"I do not surrender, it goes against everything I have been taught, both by you and my father before I left Kalee. He had superior abilities and mastery with a lightsaber, so I was no match for him regardless. The only way to win was with something I knew that he did not. Seeing as he was a senator and I a warlord, I decided an old tactic of deception that succeeded for me several times in the past would be more appropriate and successful." Zanaku stood patiently with his arms behind his back in a gesture of respect as he awaited his response from his master.
|
Darth Malice
|
"You.....a Warlord. You hold no such title among the Sith....and any previous prestige you've held means nothing when you stand in our ranks." Malice stood tall, his eyes looking down upon his Apprentice void of emotion.
"Do you believe I need a lesson in battle tactics? There was no intervention on my part. The duel was finished and the victor was clear." Bane walked towards and past Dagana, but turned his head before he was out of earshot.
"You will learn who is the Master and who is the Apprentice." With that, Malice exited the dojo and headed for his personal chambers. He was finished with his Apprentice for today. They would reconvene their training on the morrow.

As his master left, Zanaku began to think about the masters statement. He knew he was no match for his master and dared not defy or disrespect him, but he had clearly irritated his master. He was no longer a Warlord this is true, he would take note to never mention that again, as it held no weight or meaning anymore. He decided to head beck to the training grounds, but not before returning to his quarters and punishing himself for his foolishness. He would not lose again.
Once home, Zanaku took out a cortosis knife and pulled up his sleeve he then carved the word "Anoo" into his arm and made note that it was not to heal. He would learn from the pain and would remember that he was the student and was to be respectful to his master. His past did not matter right now, only the present and the future held anything for him. Done with his self lesson, Zanaku changed into his dark clothing again and proceeded to the training grounds. It was time to face his master.
