He had many masters, but one of the most influinsial was Jedi master Kreia.In time, Revan left Kreia's tutelage entirely and studied under Zhar, Dorak, and Kae. In addition, rumors perpetuated saying that Revan studied the process of Force bonding during during his many apprenticeships.
At the start of the Mandalorian Wars, the Republic was in dire need of help. They went to the Council in search of assistance, they refused. The Council was reluctant to charge into another conflict so soon after the recent war with the sith. They also sensed that there had to be something amiss about the whole situation. It was if the true danger had not yet presented it self.

Revan's entrance into the war marked its turning point as he began to push the mandalorians back. Thought of heroes by the Republic,
he and Malak were propelled through the Republic's military command until they were given complete control over a third of the Republic's fleet. Revan's clever military mind, and superior tactical ability were considered the salvaion of the Republic, while others admired Malaks courage and fierce determination.

Together, they liberated Taris, fought Cassus Fett,at Jaga's Cluster, and eradicated much of the Mandalorian army at Althir. A few became concerned by the cold and calculating methods that the Jedi were willing to use in order to atstain victory. Although Revan's tactics were perfect and Malaks fury was unmatched, the pair began to mirror the Mandalorians they were fighting, growing to despise weakness and indecisiveness in all its forms.
At some point during the war, Revan was scouting for bases along the Outer Rim when he learned of Malachor V. This planet the Mandalorians were “forbidden” to step foot on. Upon the surface, he was nearly killed by Siths. But he was so strong in the force, he was able to feed on the dark power that seged through the planet and not be consumed. Although he survived the encounter, he was not entirely unchanged.
