Okay, I was really just going to take a step back an let you have your way, but this just takes the cake. No, sorry, this takes the whole bakery. Let's go through this one at a time.

Quote:
GLATHN LONG SAID:

Wed. Oct. 1, 2008 9:28 am

Malice your example is a stupid one.

At this point as Darth Malice was my mentor, I entered the debate as the postings clearly show.

Yes. I said his examples were stupid. I didn't say that he himself, nor his thoughts or opinions, or anything directly related to him were stupid. I said that his examples were stupid. So unless you were concerned for the examples' feelings, I doubt that this qualifies for name-calling. Whether or not you entered the debate after this so-called "name-calling", you did not enter to chastise me for using the words stupid. You entered to state your beliefs on the issue. Not only that but you entered the debate, wait for it...

Two weeks after that was said. Yes. Jumping quickly to your master's aid clearly.

Quote:
Tues. Oct. 14 2008 2:06 pm

What crap. I mean god, how can anyone find that logical?

I admit I may have overstepped the line here and I have the good graces to admit it. Unlike you Suspiria, who has once again refused to acknowledge that you changed my words and put words in my mouth.

Quote:
Tues. Oct 14 2008 5:05 pm

Ugh. Are you even reading what I am saying at this point?

Yes, I questioned whether Samuel had read what I'd said. How is this insulting?

Quote:
Tues. Oct. 14 2008 6:38 pm

Do you even know what you're saying at this point? Honestly...It is ridiculous. I feel like I'm arguing with my nine-year old sister to be honest.

I was comparing Samuel to my nine-year-old sister in that my sister simply ignores what I say when I'm arguing with her and I felt that Samuel was doing the same.

Quote:
Thurs. Oct. 16, 2008 11:36 pm

You yourself look quite the fool

I was very insulted by the way you spoke to me in the prior post. It made me feel as if you thought I was, as I put it "some sort of idiot from a backwater country where human rights abuses are common". The way you worded made it sound as if you thought that I thought it was okay to withold food and water from people, which I simply don't.

Quote:
Thurs. Oct. 16, 2008 2:57 pm

You continue to argue with this absurd notion.

Yes, I felt that you were arguing with an absurd notion. This again is not an insult, absurd is a word, you yourself said that I spoke "absurdities".
Quote:

Sun. Oct 19, 2008 3:56 am

....This was obvious and deliberate changing of my words to make a stupid point.

Alas! She acknowledges that I said it! Yes, I was exasperated that you had altered my words (a fact you continue to ignore). You made a point that could only have been made after altering my words. Thus, I found the point to be stupid, as you knowingly and obviously altered my words in an attempt to challenge my consistency.

Quote:
Sun. Oct. 19, 2008 3:56 am

You don't seem to have a very good grasp of English

Yes, due to the fact that you seemed to have confused (or deliberately overlooked one of) the terms "current" and "original, I was mistaken in believing that you had a less-than-standard grasp of English. I was not attempting to insult you, I was stating what seemed apparent to me.
Quote:

Your sheer ignorance is infuriating me.

Yes. Your ignorance. You were ignoring what I was saying. You deliberately altered and changed my words and put words in my mouth, I pointed it out and you ignored it repeatedly. You were being ignorant. It is a word, not an insult.
Quote:

...just because I know you'll come up with some other ridiculous statements.

I felt that your statements were ridiculous. Ridiculous is a word, not an inslult.

Quote:
You can keep putting up more stupid arguments.

This is taken out of context, I was referring to your altering of my words to suit your own purposes, a fact you continue to refuse to acknowledge. As said before, you made a point that could only have been made after altering my words. Thus, I found the point to be stupid, as you knowingly and obviously altered my words in an attempt to challenge my consistency.
Quote:

Anyone besides Glathn believe all of those things are not name-calling or insults?

I dunno about anyone else, but I think one came close to an insult, the "crap" statement. Other than that, no, none of those are name-calling or insults.
Quote:

If you choose not to post in debate threads any longer then that is your choice. What the real issue is, is that someone called you on your premises and your manners. That is the real issue. Again I believe this thread should be locked.

That is not the real issue. The real issue is that while the rest of us were debating on the death penalty, you chose to attack first my idea, while ignoring that fact that I pointed out that I wasn't going against the law, then my original idea, which had since transgressed into my current idea and ignoring my pointing that out, then my consistency, by altering my words and putting words in my mouth A FACT THAT YOU CONTINUE TO REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE.

You then attacked my manners, which has apparently been your secret intention for a week, because I consistently called you out on your blatant altering of my words and putting words in my mouth. You changed the subject to shift attention away from your deliberate subterfuge. And I for one am insulted that you challenged my consistency, my manners and my very morality when you must change what I say, ignore what I say, even say what I say and then change the subject when I point out, just to keep your own argument going.

I have never heard such rationalizations by someone for their behavior as your last post. I know why I entered this debate. You do not know why I entered this debate. Anything you think is speculation and no more than that.

Whatever reason I entered the debate for has nothing to do with your arguments or whether they are valid or not. That is another rationalization.

And no I will not acknowledge that I have done anything wrong because I do not believe that I have.

You, you yourself stated, and I quote:

"I entered this thread because I saw Glathn calling names."

THAT you say is why you entered the debate. Now let's see, you entered said debate by stating your beliefs and did not ever chastise me until I repeatedly pointed out your blatant, obvious and deliberate subterfuge. You entered the debate two weeks after this so-called name-calling and then it took you a further week to chastise said so-called name-calling.

Forgive me for thinking this does not betray your intent.

Next I believe you said that your reason for entering the debate has nothing to do with my arguments or whether they are valid or not. But wait, I didn't say that. That is putting words in my mouth. Which brings me to my final point...

You do not believe that you did anything wrong. Did you or did you not, knowingly and deliberately change this quote:

"I did say that adequate and necessary are not [the] same."

to

"I did say that adequate and enough are not [the] same."

Ignore the insertion of [the], that was just to clarify for the folks at home, who might otherwise have been confused by my misplacement of the word "that".

I repeat.

Did you or did you not knowingly and deliberately change that quote to suit your own purposes? Did you or did you not knowingly and deliberately change that quote so as to match it with this quote;

"adequate and enough are synonymous with each other."

in an attempt to make me look inconsistent. Did you or did you not do all of these things knowingly and deliberately?

I DO NOT answer to demands. Period. All this is now is what I refer to 'as having the last word' scenario. And it is utterly innane.

Desiring the last word innanely, I willing admit to. The rest I categorically disagree with and will continue to.

Continued personal attacks will not be tolerated. Stick to debating the issues and not the credentials of the person espousing them.

Final warning before thread locked and tighter restrictions are imposed.

I have one more thing to add. Glathn didn't demand you to do anything, he just asked you whether or not you changed his words around to make it seem like he said something else. I am just clearing that up.

Glathn, if I may ask, why do you think that John McCain is a prick? Any explanation for this?

My apologies Will, I'm going to just leave the debate.

@Suspiria: As Thrax pointed out, I did not demand anything of you. I asked you a question, you acted irrationally.

@Thrax: Some of his comments during the last debate were what really gave me the opinion. I can't remember them exactly, and I don't feel like sifting through a one-and-half-hour-long YouTube video to find them, but that is my reason.

I only know of one person who did that. Planted the chair in his private road and sat with the shotgun. Did it because a developer was trying to prove it was a public way and was sending cars down it.

The road is....empty once again.

No bleeding corpses. He's my ex-brother in law and he is quite the character. His antics are hair raising. Likes to bait rattlesnakes just for fun.

A spot of Earl Grey would be grand!

TEA?!?!?!?! You dare bring tea into this hall?!?!?!? We don't drink such stuff in this forum.

For reference, we drink absinthe up in here, dogg. That stuff is dope like coke cooked in the kitchen.

I know absinthe was outlawed in the US for quite a while. They do drink it in some of the Eastern European countries. Romania, Hungary especially. If you drink too much of it you can be poisoned and die.

I always wondered how you would know when you were getting close to the 'I just poisoned myself to death' line being crossed. Does anyone know? Abisinthia is a plant isn't it? If you made it at home how would you know how strong it was?

In traditional Absinthe, while the alcohol level is high(45-70% averaging), it generally isn't as bad as it's made out to be. You'd probably stop long before you poisoned yourself to death. Laughing

It's also called the green fairy and, in Moulin Rouge, it's hinted at.
