The Sith Imperial Armies are the driving planetary power in the Empire. While the Navy plays its integral role in getting the Army where it must be and providing key space/air support, the Army is the main power that causes planet-bound enemies to tremble.

- Army Group: A military organization consisting of several Field Armies, which is self-sufficient for indefinite periods. It is usually responsible for a particular geographic area. An army group is the largest field organization handled by a single commander, an Imperial General, and it generally includes between 400,000 - 1,500,000 troops. An Army Group is generally composed of 2-5 Field Armies.
- Field Army: A military organization that is smaller than an Army Group, yet larger than a Corps. Commanded by a Superior General. It is normally composed of 2 Corps, 100,000 - 300,000 soldiers.
- Corps: Composed of 2 - 3 Divisions Usually commanded by a Lieutenant General. Consists of 20,000 - 45,000 soldiers.
- Division: Composed of 2 - 3 Brigades and commanded by a Major General. 10,000 - 15,000 soldiers. Also called a "Legion" which consists of 9,216 troops, and follows the Clone Army's chain of command and units.
- Brigade: Composed of two or more battalions, and usually commanded by a Brigadier General, supported by a staff in a Headquarters and Headquarters Company. 3,000 - 5,000 soldiers.
- Battalion: Composed of two to five companies or batteries and led by a Battalion Commander, usually a Colonel. 300 - 1000 soldiers.
- Company: Each company/battery is composed of three to four platoons and led by a Major. Consists of 62 - 190 soldiers.
- Platoon: Composed of two or more Sections and led by a Platoon Leader, usually a Sergeant Major. Consists of 32 soldiers.
- Section: Directed by a Sergeant 2nd Class who supplies guidance for junior NCO Squad leaders. Consists of 2 Squads, 16 men.
- Squad: Composed of two teams and is typically led by a Squad Commander. 8 - 10 soldiers.
- Team: A FireTeam consists of a team leader, a Corporal, a rifleman, a grenadier, and an automatic rifleman. A SniperTeam consists of a sniper who takes the shot and a spotter who assists in targeting. 2 - 4 soldiers.
