The faults and problems of an organized governing body have shown through today. The Moff Council, after having been created for only 1 year, was disbanded by the Emperor today. I am led to believe that his actions were prompted by the lack of positive results from the council, as well as recent events.
Our own Grand Inquisitor Prognie and Grand Mage Aequitas entered into a heated battle over the jurisdiction of their Orders in the case of the newly discovered planet, Aeron, and its explosive past. The Mages argued that they needed sole dominance in order to clean the planet of its radioactive waste that had been left behind by the rebels. The Inquisitors, were under the impression that the fact that a rebellious group had last been seen on and around that new planet, that the Inquisitors held sole right to the planet, each claiming a gross obstruction of their mandate by the other Order.
Once again, the futility of a bureaucratic system shines as a gleaming example as to why Republics turn into Empires.
I, of course, claimed the area as under Martial Law, which made the most sense. An enemy group had held this ground and had seen it fitting to try and destroy it rather than let it fall into our hands. There must be a reason, and they might just come back.
The Mage's fleet is in no condition to carry out a battle, I was surprised that their fleet survived the encounter with the rebels. The 24th Fleet was specifically retrofitted for science, not war. They can hold their own against small groups, but organized warfare? Not a chance.
As for the 8th Fleet's ships being present. I will have to talk with Darth Aequitas about that. The 8th Fleet was not even supposed to be close to that sector of space, never mind over the planet. Why is it that the Order Heads take the fleets to be their personal toys? The reason they are assigned a fleet is because the Emperor willed it and because it keeps the Sith involved with the Military. Half of the Dark Lords and Ladies that are in charge of a fleet barely know how to use the comm systems or use Battle Meditation properly. If it came down to an actual fight, where they held full command, I pity the fleets and the Admirals that must follow absurd orders from those incompetents.
Now to tie this in. Why am I ranting? Perhaps it is to show you what your self-importance does to people like me. People that know what they are doing, and yet are ordered otherwise by those who do not know better. The structure needs to be fixed, but for now remember that you are not perfect, and that there is an expert in the fields you do not understand. Use those resources wisely and appropriately, lest something happens that cannot be fixed.
