The title explains it all. Which of the two are better and why?

You seem to give us a lot more options than just two.
I'd have to go with Twilight Vampires, because they are not hindered by sunlight as much as the rest. Twinkling in the light is not nearly as bad as instantaneous combustion.

Not only is that pathetic and useless, but Twilight vampires fail, and are a disgrace to the name of vampires.

Yea, the vampires in Blade can slay those emo bloodsuckers in a second.

I'd say its a whole lot better than bursting into flame and ash when the sun touches you.

I'd go with Blade or Underworld, but it wasn't an option.

I picked zombies simply because they embody one of my greatest fears; an unstoppable epidemic. A plague that sweeps the earth, killing and then resurrecting all it infects, with no cure and nothing short of RAINING FIRE AND LAVA to stop them. And there will be no raining fire and lava.

Unless it's those frickin' magic zombies, hate those mofos.

I love movies like I Am Legend and The Omega Man also 28 days was really good, but I'm going to have to go with vampires because they are capable of actual thought and an army of vampires could easily kill an army of zombies.

False! Everyone knows that zombies can't be killed, short of exploding them, and my kind of zombie is quick, quiet, stealthy, ninja-like, genius, armed with weapons of all sorts. Vampires would get pwned all day, every day.

ZOMBIES FTW

Eh, zombies are dumb as far as I see. Evilness must be fed with mind, otherwise the reason is only being non-sentient. The zombie Serratus mentioned is somewhat like Arthas from Warcraft. Undead but not a zombie.

The zombie i'm speaking of is human like, just with the benefits of being partially immortal and uber insanely powerful, and fast.

Fien'Dur I don't really like arguing with a friend but in this case I think I must. Zombies aren't intelligent enough to kill vampires and the zombie you are talking about sounds alot like a vampire.

Unfortunately, no. But i plan on writing a novel about a zombie of that caliber.  Why doesn't a zombie like that exist? It would be epic pwenage.

Because it isn't the zombie stereotype. Zombies are brainless undead, uncoordinated, and usually with limbs falling off. The two most common fictional causes are viruses in the brain or being dead, your brain decomposing, then being awakened.

So intelligent zombies are unheard of. As for the unnatural strength, most zombie movies have thousands of zombies overwhelming. Not one super-zombie. They aren't special, just lacking brains.

The subversion being in Resident Evil where the Umbrella Corporation's experiments bring us such gems as the Licker and Nemesis. But even these creatures have their weaknesses (the Licker being uncoordinated and Nemesis being mortal) and are still supported by the implacable hordes of the undead.

What's so terrifying about zombies isn't the being eaten alive by the undead corpses of people and then being resurrected as one, it's the knowledge that no matter how hard you try, no matter what you do, you can't stop them.

Cut off the head, unless its a zombie risen of necromancy, it will re-kill the zombie. Severing the spinal cord cuts off commands from the brain, regardless of how little brains may be left, it still exists and is necessary for basic acts such as movement.

Good luck trying to do that if you're not a creature of power fighting my zombie.

Your too lazy to ever right a novel, and your zombie is nothing but a vampire, that goes by the name zombie. Any trained person, with a sword, machete, axe, or any thing else could cut off its head. What makes your zombie a zombie?

Okay, i am probably too lazy to actually write a novel, and my zombie is not a vampire, so don't call it that. No human could kill my zombie with any weapon, period. And decapitation isn't going to kill it either, unless that zombie is alone and couldn't find their own head to personally re-attach it. My zombie is smart, agile, swift, powerful, master in the combative arts, partially immortal, and have few of their kind, unlike vampires, whom are everywhere.

PWEND!

Your zombie couldn't be a master in the combative arts, unless trained, and mastered in life.
